Why doesn't the lid lock when starting the program and why doesn't the timer count down?

On the GL 6412, the lid must be closed properly by turning the handle counterclockwise to the LOCKED position. If the lid does not lock, check that you have turned the handle all the way to the stop. A poorly closed lid prevents the device from building pressure and would block cooking.

Regarding the timer: after pressing the desired function button, the device starts after 5 seconds. The launched program (Corn, Soup, Meat, etc.) then begins cooking. If you notice that the timer does not display a visible countdown but the device is still cooking, this may mean that:

The digital display does not update the timer in real-time - this is normal behavior for some modes
The keep warm function has automatically activated after cooking, maintaining the temperature between 65-75°C
You pressed the Reservation button (delayed start) before starting the program - in this case, the start is delayed by 30 minutes to 24 hours

To check proper operation, ensure that: the lid is locked, you have pressed the program button (not Reservation), and you wait 5 seconds before the cycle begins.
