How to reset the camera to factory settings?
Press and hold the Reset button on the back of the camera for 10 seconds until the LEDs flash. The camera will restart with default settings.
What is the default IP address to access the camera?
The default IP address is 192.168.1.100. Connect via a browser with username root and password root (or blank depending on version).
How to configure motion detection?
In the web interface, go to Settings > Detection, enable the function and define sensitive areas. Adjust sensitivity and actions (email sending, recording).
The camera does not turn on, what to do?
Check that the Ethernet cable is properly connected and that the network switch supports PoE. If using a power adapter, make sure it is plugged in and functional.
How to access the camera from outside?
You need to configure port forwarding on your router (port 80 or 443) to the camera's local IP address. Also enable dynamic DNS if your public IP changes.
What software to use to view streams?
Canon offers RM Viewer or Video Management Software. You can also use a web browser or ONVIF-compatible applications like iSpy or Blue Iris.
How to update the firmware?
Download the latest firmware from the Canon Europe website. In the web interface, go to Settings > Maintenance > Update and select the file. Do not cut power during the operation.
Image quality is blurry, how to improve it?
Clean the lens with a microfiber cloth. Check the focus settings in the interface: if automatic, switch to manual to adjust sharpness. Ensure the bitrate is sufficient.
Can I use the camera without a recorder?
Yes, the camera can operate in standalone mode with storage on NAS via FTP or SMB. You can also record on an SD card (not included) if the model supports it.
