What type of water should I use in my Kunft KSG5344 iron?

For best results and to prolong the life of your iron, use distilled or demineralized water. Tap water may cause scale buildup over time.

How do I clean the soleplate of my iron?

Allow the iron to cool completely. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth. For stubborn residue, use a mixture of vinegar and water (1:1) on a soft cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners.

Why is my iron not producing steam?

Ensure the water tank is filled and the temperature dial is set to a steam setting (medium to high). If still no steam, try the self-clean function to remove blockages.

Can I use the iron vertically?

Yes, the KSG5344 features a vertical steam function. Hold the iron upright and press the steam boost button to remove wrinkles from hanging garments or curtains.

What does the anti-drip system do?

The anti-drip system prevents water from leaking out of the soleplate when the iron is not hot enough for steaming, keeping your clothes dry.

How do I activate the self-clean function?

Fill the water tank to max, set the temperature to high, and when the light turns off, unplug the iron. Hold it over a sink and press the self-clean button. Steam and impurities will flush out.

Does the iron automatically shut off?

Yes, the iron has an auto shut-off feature. It turns off automatically if left upright for 8 minutes or in a horizontal position for 30 seconds.

What is the maximum steam output?

The continuous steam output is 40 g/min, and the steam boost provides up to 150 g/min for stubborn wrinkles.

Can I iron delicate fabrics with this iron?

Yes, the adjustable thermostat allows you to select a lower temperature for delicate fabrics like silk and synthetics. Always test on a hidden area first.

How do I descale my iron?

Use the self-clean function regularly (once a month). For heavy scaling, fill the tank with a mixture of half white vinegar and half water, heat to high, then use the self-clean cycle. Rinse with clean water.

1.1. Power Supply

Make sure the main voltage is compatible with the appliance's. If this is not the case, please consult the Customer Support Service.

1.2. Power Cord and Other Cables

Do not tangle the cord or pull it to disconnect the appliance. Also, keep the cord away from warm surfaces.

Never use the appliance if it has a damaged cable or socket.

Take it to the Customer Support Service for replacement.

1.3. Humidity and Water

Do not use your appliance in humid places. Do not allow the appliance to become wet under any circumstances as this may be dangerous. To avoid fire hazard or electric shock do not expose your appliance to humidity or water. Furthermore, do not place your appliance under water (e.g. for cleaning).

2. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

2.1. Product Description

2.2. Product usage

HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY

Fill the water tank with water through the filling aperture. Make sure the water does not exceed the maximum water tank level.

Temperature dial

Turn the temperature dial to set the ironing temperature according to the garment needs to be ironed.

Temperature indicator

When the steam iron is heating up, the temperature indicator will light up. Once the steam iron has reached the selected temperature, the light will shut off. The temperature indicator will illuminate solidly during heating.

Steam trigger

When the appliance is heated to the selected temperature and the temperature indicator is shut off, press the steam trigger with a little bit of force and steam will be sprayed from the soleplate. When you loosen the steam trigger, the appliance can only be used for dry ironing without steam.

Cord clip

When not in use, the power cord can be tied with a cable tie and the steam supply hose can be stored using the cord clips (see Fig.1 & Fig.2).

1. Remove any sticker or protective foil from the soleplate.
2. Fill the water tank with water and heat up the steam iron to the maximum temperature and then iron over a piece of damp cloth for several minutes to remove any residue on the soleplate according to the "Steam ironing" section.

NOTE:

1. It is normal for a strange odour to come out from the unit for the first use. This will cease after a short while.
2. Some particles may come out of the soleplate when you use the steam iron for the first time. This is normal, the particles are harmless and stop coming out of the steam iron after a short while.

uSING your StEaM StatIoN

The appliance has two ironing ways. You can use dry ironing or steam ironing, the details refer to the following:

Dry ironing

1. Put the unit base on a stable and levelled surface.
2. Put the steam iron on the thermal insulation stand of unit base correctly (see Fig.3).
3. Connect the plug to a wall outlet and turn the temperature dial to select your desired temperature setting, according to the garment fabric. Refer to "IRONING TIPS" and "ADDITIONAL TABLE" as below when selecting the temperature.
4. The temperature indicator will illuminate and the steam iron will start heating.
5. When the soleplate temperature reaches the selected temperature, the temperature indicator turns off and you can start ironing.

WARNING: Never touch the hot soleplate at any time before cooling down!

Steam ironing

1. Put the unit base on a stable and levelled surface.
2. Grasp the water tank handle and pull out the water tank horizontally, fill the water tank with water through the filling aperture and place the water tank back in position (see Fig.4). Make sure the water tank is pulled out horizontally when removing the water tank. We recommend using purified water with less calcium particles. The water tank's maximum capacity is 1.2 L, the water level should not exceed the maximum level.

1. Put the iron on the thermal insulation stand of unit base correctly (see Fig.3).
2. Connect the plug to a wall outlet and turn the temperature dial to select your desired temperature setting, according to the garment fabric. Refer to "IRONING TIPS" and "ADDITIONAL TABLE" as below when selecting the temperature.
3. The temperature indicator will illuminate and the steam iron will start heating.
4. When the soleplate temperature reaches the selected temperature, the temperature indicator turns off and you can now start ironing with steam.
5. Press the steam trigger with a little force, the steam will be sprayed from the soleplate continuously, and then you can iron the garment with steam.
   NOTE: There may be dripping water during the steam spraying when the temperature is lower than that of the second setting. This is normal.

CAUTIONS:

(1) Do not touch hot soleplate at any time before cooling down!
(2) Never direct the steam at people!
(3) Do not activate the steam function when the steam iron is placed on the unit base to avoid being scalded by steam.

1. After ironing, remove the plug from the wall socket and the appliance will be turned off. While the soleplate is still hot, never touch it. Place it on the thermal insulation stand correctly until it cools down completely.

IroNING tIPS

• Always check first whether a label with ironing instructions is attached to the appliance. Follow these ironing instructions in any case.
• The steam iron heats up quicker when cooling it down, therefore, you should start ironing the articles requiring the lower temperature such as those made of synthetic fibres.
• If the fabric consists of various kinds of fibres, you must always select the lowest ironing temperature to iron the composition of those fibres.

• Synthetic fibres and silk fabrics should be ironed inside out to avoid shiny.
• Velvet and other textures that rapidly become shiny should be ironed in one direction with light pressure applied. Always keeps the iron moving at any moment.
• Pure wool fabrics (100 % wool) may be ironed with the steam iron. Use a dry cloth as a mat and then select the corresponding fabric setting for ironing.
• Never iron over zipper/rivets in the cloth. This will damage the soleplate. Iron around any such object.

NOTE: When ironing woollen fabrics, shining of the fabric may occur. So it is suggested that you should turn the article inside out and iron the reverse side.

2.3. Maintenance

Before cleaning, disconnect the power outlet and let the appliance cools down.

1. Wipe the residues and any other deposits on the soleplate with a damp cloth or a non-abrasive (liquid) cleaner.
   NOTE: Do not use chemical, steel, wooden or abrasive cleaners to scrape the soleplate.
2. Clean the upper part of steam iron with a soft damp cloth. Wipe the water drop on the unit base and the thermal insulation stand with dry cloth.
3. When not using the appliance for a long time, empty the water tank, turn the temperature dial to the minimum setting and store the steam supply hose and power cord with the cord clips. Then put the appliance at a place out of the reach of children.
