It uses CAT5e or CAT6 UTP cable (straight-through) to extend the DVI signal up to 60 meters.

Does the FDX-2500 require power for both transmitter and receiver?

Can I use this extender for audio?

The FDX-2500 transmits digital audio embedded in the DVI signal if your source supports audio over DVI. It does not have separate audio connectors.

How do I set up the FDX-2500?

Yes, CAT6a or CAT7 cables are backward compatible and may improve performance, but the maximum distance remains 60 meters.

Installation

1. Turn off the computer, display, and speakers.
2. Connect the DVI extension cable, PS/2 keyboard and mouse cables, and audio cable (not included) to the computer and to the ports on the FDX-2500-TX.
3. Connect the display to the DVI connector on the FDX-2500-RX.
4. Connect PS/2 mouse and keyboard to the PS/2 connectors on the FDX-2500-RX.
5. Connect speakers to the audio connector on the FDX-2500-RX.
6. Connect the power cord and power on the FDX-2500TX and the FDX-2500-RX.
7. Power on the computer, display and speakers.
