How to turn on the Samsung S860 camera?
To turn on the camera, slide the mode selector to the desired position (Auto, Program, etc.). The screen will turn on.
How to insert the batteries?
Open the battery compartment on the back of the camera. Insert two AA alkaline batteries respecting polarity (+/-). Close the cover.
How to take a photo?
Select a shooting mode with the selector. Frame the subject, press the shutter button halfway to focus, then press fully to take the photo.
How to use the zoom?
Use the zoom button (usually marked T/W) to zoom in (T) or out (W). The zoom is available in photo mode, but not during video recording.
How to delete images?
In playback mode, select the image to delete using the left/right buttons. Press the Delete button (trash can). Confirm deletion by selecting 'Yes'.
How to transfer photos to a Windows computer?
Install the Samsung Master software from the included CD. Connect the camera to the computer with the USB cable. The computer will detect the camera and you can download the images.
What to do if the screen remains black?
Check that the batteries are correctly inserted and sufficiently charged. If the camera is in standby mode, press the shutter button halfway to wake it. If the problem persists, remove and reinsert the batteries.
How to recharge the rechargeable battery?
Use the SNB-2512 charger (optional) with two Ni-MH batteries. Charging time is approximately 300 minutes. You can also use non-rechargeable alkaline batteries.
What types of memory cards are compatible?
The camera accepts SD cards (up to 2GB), SDHC cards (up to 4GB), and MMC cards (up to 1GB). 11MB of internal memory is also available.
How to clean the lens?

※Manner mode: Pressing the play mode button for more than 3 seconds changes the buzzer and start-up sound setting to OFF, even though you may have set these to ON.

  • This deletes images stored on the memory card.

  • Select an image that you want to delete by pressing the Left / Right button and press the DELETE ( 合 ) button.
