How do I set the clock on the Sven SRP-500?

Press and hold the Clock button for 2 seconds. The hour will flash. Use the Tuning Up/Down buttons to set the hour. Press Clock again; the minutes flash. Set minutes, then press Clock to confirm.

Can I use rechargeable batteries?

Yes, the radio works with rechargeable AA batteries (NiMH). You can also power it via the micro USB port (5V).

How to improve FM reception?

Extend the telescopic antenna fully. Rotate the radio for best signal. If indoors, move near a window.

How to set the alarm?

Press the Alarm button. Use Tuning Up/Down to set alarm time. Press Alarm again to select wake-up source (buzzer or radio). Press Power to save.

Why is my radio not turning on?

Check that batteries are inserted correctly or the micro USB cable is connected. Try fresh batteries or a different USB power source.

How to store radio stations?

Tune to the desired station, then press and hold one of the Preset buttons (1-5) until a beep sounds. Up to 10 presets per band.

Does the radio have a backlight?

Yes, the LCD display has a backlight that turns on briefly when any button is pressed. It can be set to stay on via a menu option.

How to clean the radio?

Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water. Keep away from dust and moisture.

What is the sleep timer and how to use it?

The sleep timer automatically turns off the radio after a set time. Press the Sleep button repeatedly to choose 15/30/60/90/120 minutes. The radio will shut off after the selected time.

APPLICATION

SRP-500, SRP-505 portable radios are designed to receive radio stations in the FM/AM/SW band, play MP3 files from USB/microSD media formatted in FAT32 format.

Attention! The built-in battery must be charged completely prior to the application.

Battery charging

• Connect radio to a USB port of PC or USB charger using micro USB to USB cable (included). During battery charging the indicator ⑫ is red. Indicator ⑫ goes out when the battery is charged.
• The battery is used in the radio as an integral part of the device, therefore do not try to extract or replace it, because this can result in the warranty cancellation or the device damage.

OPERATION MODES

Bluetooth mode

• Wireless data transfer via the Bluetooth protocol enables to connect radio to compatible devises. Maximum radius of action of data transfer is 10 m. Such obstacles as walls or other electronic devices can interfere with the signal transfer.
• Turn on the radio and select Bluetooth mode. To do this, move the mode selection knob ⑥ to the highest position. If necessary (switching from USB/microSD), additionally press the MODE ③ button on the front panel, a sound confirmation of the selected mode will be heard.
• It is necessary to select the search mode of devices with Bluetooth on a signal source (telephone, notebook, smartphone, etc.). «SVEN SRP-500/SRP-505» massage will be displayed on the screen which is to be connected to*.
• When connection is successful, there will be a short beep**.

Player mode

Attention! The file system of a micro SD carrier is FAT32. Maximum volume is 32 GB. It is not recommended to use the micro SD Ultra Speed.

- Insert the USB flash or micro SD carrier into appropriate slot, if the radio is in turned on position and MUSIC mode is on, the playback will start automatically. Playback/Pause modes are switched over with the help of the button ④. Tracks can be controlled by buttons ① (previous track) and ② (next track).

Radio mode

- Turn on device. Select the desired range with switch ⑥. When receiving an SW/FM band expand the telescopic antenna. Use the tuning knob ⑤ to select the desired station.
