Frequently Asked Questions - SW-220-TX WyreStorm

How do I connect the SW-220-TX to my display and sources?
Follow the wiring diagram: connect HDMI sources (e.g., laptop, USB camera) to the switcher's HDMI/USB-C inputs, and connect the switcher's HDMI output to your display. Ensure all cables are secure and powered on.
Can I use wireless casting with this switcher?
Yes, you can use the optional APO-DG1 wireless casting dongle. Pair it by inserting the dongle into the USB-C 'Pairing' port on the front. Up to two dongles can be paired.
How do I set a static IP for the switcher?
By default, the IP is DHCP. To set a static IP, access the Web UI (enter the assigned IP in a browser) and navigate to network settings. WyreStorm recommends setting a static IP before permanent installation.
What should I do if I have no picture or a noisy image?
Check power to the switcher. Ensure all HDMI/USB connections are secure. Verify that the source and display support the selected resolution. Try lowering the EDID resolution via the Web UI. Use HDMI cables rated for 4K if transmitting 4K.
How do I connect analog audio?
Use the provided 5-pin terminal block. Connect pins: L+ (1), L- (2), G (3), R- (4), R+ (5) to your audio device's corresponding balanced inputs.
Why can't I cast wirelessly?
Ensure your device is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network (the switcher's SSID). If a casting PIN is enabled, enter the correct PIN. For APO-DG1, verify the dongle is properly paired and use a direct USB connection (no hubs).
Does the switcher support CEC?
Yes, the HDMI output supports CEC, but WyreStorm cannot guarantee compatibility with all CEC implementations.
How can I control the switcher via API?
Use Telnet on port 23 (or TLS on port 24) to send API commands. For full API details, refer to the separate API documentation on wyrestorm.com.
