Frequently Asked Questions - 008-245 Menuett

What type of oil should I use in the Menuett 008-245 deep fryer?
Use high-quality frying oil with a high smoke point, such as vegetable oil, canola oil, or peanut oil. Avoid olive oil or butter as they burn easily.
How do I clean the deep fryer?
Unplug and let cool completely. Remove the basket and lid; wash them in warm soapy water or dishwasher if indicated. Wipe the interior with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water.
What is the maximum oil level?
Fill oil up to the MAX marking inside the fryer, typically around 1.2 liters. Exceeding may cause overflow when food is added.
How long does it take to heat up?
Approximately 10-15 minutes to reach the desired temperature, depending on the thermostat setting.
Can I fry frozen food directly?
Yes, but shake off excess ice and lower food slowly to prevent oil splatter. Frozen food may lower oil temperature, so cook in small batches.
Why does the fryer turn off automatically?
The fryer has overheat protection and may shut off if the oil exceeds a safe temperature. Let it cool and reset by unplugging for a few minutes.
How often should I change the oil?
Change oil after 8-10 uses or when it becomes dark, smelly, or smokes excessively. Strain oil through a fine mesh to extend its life.
What do the indicator lights mean?
The power light indicates the fryer is on. The heating light goes out when the set temperature is reached and cycles on/off to maintain it.
Can I use the fryer without oil?
No, this is a traditional deep fryer that requires oil to function. Do not operate it empty as it will damage the heating element.
Where can I find replacement parts?
Contact Menuett customer service or visit the Jula website. Common spare parts include the basket, lid, and thermostat control.
