Frequently Asked Questions - DB20E Cotech

Why does the dehumidifier not extract water during winter/spring?
In winter and spring, the ambient humidity is often low (<40%). The dehumidifier only extracts water when the room humidity is above the set level. If the humidity is already low, the appliance will not operate.
How do I set the desired humidity level?
Press the HUM button (6) to cycle through: Continuous dehumidifying, 50%, 60%, 70%, or 80% relative humidity. The display shows the set value.
What does the flashing water drop symbol mean?
The flashing water drop symbol indicates that the defrost function is active. This prevents frost buildup on the cooling element at low temperatures.
How do I empty the water tank?
When the tank is full, the full tank symbol flashes and a beep sounds. Turn off the appliance, pull the tank straight out by the handle, empty it, and reinsert it until the symbol turns off.
Can I use a continuous drain hose?
Yes. Remove the plastic plug from the drainage hole (rear) and attach a hose with an internal diameter of 12 mm (not included). Ensure the hose is free-flowing and does not freeze in cold weather.
How do I clean the air filter?
Press the upper corner of the front grille (at the 'Press' mark) to remove it. The washable filter can be vacuumed or washed with mild detergent. The active carbon filter cannot be washed and should be replaced every 6 months or as needed.
Why is the water level window illuminated red?
The red light indicates that the water tank is full or not correctly inserted. Empty the tank and reinsert it properly. If the light stays on, check that the tank is fully seated.
What should I do if the dehumidifier is abnormally loud?
Ensure the appliance is on a level surface. Check for any damage. Abnormal noise may also be caused by a loose filter or foreign objects.
Can I use the dehumidifier in a room below +5°C?
No. The dehumidifier must not be used at temperatures below +5°C as it may cause frost buildup and damage the compressor.
How do I display the ambient temperature?
Hold the HUM button (6) for at least 2 seconds. The display will show the ambient temperature in degrees Celsius.
