Frequently Asked Questions - FS-4000 Royal Sovereign

How do I clean the FS-4000 bill counter?
To clean your FS-4000, turn off and unplug the device. Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or isopropyl alcohol to clean the rollers, sensors, and feed path. Avoid using abrasive cleaners. Allow all parts to dry completely before use.
What types of bills can the FS-4000 detect?
The FS-4000 uses UV, MG (magnetic), IR (infrared), and size detection to verify the authenticity of banknotes. It can detect counterfeit bills of various currencies when properly configured.
Why is my FS-4000 counting inaccurately?
Inaccurate counting may be due to dirty sensors, worn rollers, or improper bill alignment. Clean the sensors and rollers as described in the manual. Ensure bills are flat and free of staples or tape. If the problem persists, recalibrate the device.
How do I reset the batch count on the FS-4000?
To reset the batch count, press the BATCH button until the display shows ‘000’. Alternatively, turn the device off and on to reset all counts.
Can the FS-4000 count mixed denominations?
No, the FS-4000 is designed to count and detect one denomination at a time. For mixed denomination counting, you would need a more advanced model with face and orientation recognition.
What does the error code 'E1' mean on the FS-4000?
Error code E1 indicates a jam or sensor blockage. Clear any bills stuck in the feed path, and clean the sensors. If the error persists, inspect the rollers for wear and replace if necessary.
How often should I replace the rollers on my FS-4000?
Rollers typically last 100,000 to 200,000 cycles depending on usage. If you notice slipping, jamming, or inconsistent feeding, it is time to replace the rollers. Refer to the manual for replacement instructions.
Does the FS-4000 have a warranty?
Yes, Royal Sovereign offers a 2-year limited warranty on the FS-4000. It covers defects in materials and workmanship. For warranty service, contact Royal Sovereign customer support with your proof of purchase.
How do I adjust the detection sensitivity on the FS-4000?
Detection sensitivity can be adjusted via the control panel. Press the MENU button, navigate to ‘Sensitivity’, and use the arrow keys to increase or decrease UV/MG/IR levels. Save changes and test with known genuine bills.
What is the maximum bill size the FS-4000 can handle?
The FS-4000 can handle bills from 120 x 60 mm to 185 x 85 mm. Larger or smaller bills may cause jams or counting errors.

The system allows users to easily sort four rows of their US Quarters, Dimes, Nickels, and Pennies hands free.

LCD Display

The digital LCD display is easy to read and has the ability to show either the dollar amount of the coins sorted, or the quantity of each coin denomination. This function can be used at any time during sorting.

Anti-Jam Technology

This machine has an anti-jam technology system in place to ensure that coins do not get stuck in the hopper.

Preformed Coin Wrappers Included

This machine comes with preformed coin wrappers to use during sorting. The wrappers are already formed to fit perfectly into the coin tubes. When the wrappers are inserted into the coin tubes, the machine will automatically fill the wrapper with the correct number of coins. OPERATION

  1. Open the front lid, making sure it is all the way down. This will allow the coin tube rows to move properly.
  2. If desired, insert preformed coin wrappers inside of the coin tubes and push the rows back into place. Note: Do not manually move the tube trays while the machine is operating or sensors may become misaligned.
  3. Plug in power cable and turn power switch on.
  4. Press the RUN/STOP button to start the machine. You will begin to hear the ticking of the machine.
  5. Place up to 800 coins into the hopper opening to begin sorting. The coins will automatically begin to sort into the front row.
  6. When a tube in the front row is full, the machine will temporarily stop sorting and the LCD display will indicate which coin tube is full by blinking the amount of coins for that denomination. The row will then automatically be advanced forward and sorting will begin in the second row. This will continue till all four rows are full.
  7. When all four rows are full for one denomination, remove the full wrappers. Push the wrappers up from the exposed bottom edge. Pull out the wrapper and fold over the edges. Replace with a new coin wrapper and push the tubes back into the machine to begin sorting into the first row again.
  8. At any time during or after sorting, you can view the total dollar amount or the individual coin count of the coins you sorted. To reset the display press the CLEAR button.
  9. When you are finished sorting press the RUN/STOP button to stop the machine and turn the power switch off.

NOTE: When using coin wrappers that are not preformed:

  1. Allow coins to fall directly into the coin tubes. Do not place flat wrappers into the coin tubes while sorting. This may cause a jam.
  2. Remove the coin tube when it becomes full.
  3. Hold the coin wrapper; slide it gently over the top few coins in the tube.
  4. While gently pushing the coin wrapper toward the bottom of the tube, tilt the coin tube so that the coins slide into the wrapper.
  5. Turn the coin tube upside down and remove the coin-filled wrapper. Fold over the other end of the wrapper.
