How do I install the door/window contact sensor?

Mount the sensor (A) on the door/window frame and the magnet (B) on the door/window. Align the arrows on the sensor and magnet so they are directly opposite each other, with a gap no larger than 2 cm. Use the supplied double-sided adhesive tape or screws.

How do I connect the sensor to the Smart Life app?

Download the Smart Life app from Google Play or the App Store, create an account, and press the '+' symbol. Select 'Door Sensor (Wifi)' from the 'Security Sensor' category and follow the in-app instructions. Ensure your phone is on a 2.4 GHz WiFi network.

What type of batteries does the sensor use?

The sensor requires 2 x AAA 1.5V batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries with less than 1.5V as they may cause malfunction.

Why is my sensor not connecting to the app?

Make sure the sensor is turned on (slider to 'ON'), the LED is blinking after pressing the Set button for 5-8 seconds, and your phone is connected to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network. 5 GHz networks are not supported.

How far can the sensor be from the magnet?

The sensor and magnet must be within 2 cm of each other for proper installation. The trigger distance (when the door opens) is 2-3 cm.

Can I use the sensor outdoors?

No, the sensor is designed for indoor use only. It should not be exposed to outdoor elements.

How do I clean the sensor?

Clean the surface with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use metal brushes, chemicals, or abrasive cleaners to avoid damage.

How do I dispose of the sensor or batteries?

Dispose of the sensor as WEEE at a designated collection point. Batteries must be disposed of separately at municipal collection points. Look for recycling symbols on batteries (Li, Al, Mn). Do not throw in household waste.

What should I do if the sensor is not working?

• Remove the unit from the packaging and remove all packaging material.
• Open the unit by removing the back cover and insert 2 AAA 1.5V batteries. When inserting the batteries, make sure that the +/- polarity is correct to avoid damage.

- Close the unit by first hooking the upper end of the rear cover and then pressing the lower end onto the housing.

Before Using

• Open Google Play on your smartphone or the app store on your iPhone and search for the "Smart Life" app.
• Download the app to your smartphone, open it and create a user account.

Usage

• Switch on the unit by moving the slider on the back to "ON" and wait 5-10 seconds.
• Press the "Set" button for 5-8 seconds until the LED indicator lights up.
• Start the "Smart Life" app and press the "+" symbol in the upper right corner and select "Add device"
• Now select the "Door Sensor (Wifi)" icon from the "Security Sensor" category and follow the further "Instructions" in the Smart Life App.

Please note that only 2.4GHz networks are supported!

Enable and allow push notifications for the Smart Life app in your smartphone settings to receive notifications of an unauthorised opening of one of your windows or doors.

Assembly

• Mount the sensor (A) and the magnet (B) separately.
• Sensor (A) must be attached to the door/window frame, magnet (B) is attached to the door/window.
• Use the supplied double-sided adhesive tape or the supplied screws for mounting.
• Align the sensor and the magnet so that the two arrows on the sensors are directly opposite each other.
• Make sure that the distance between the sensor and the magnet does not exceed 2 cm.

Notice

When installing the unit, ensure that there are no other magnetic fields in the vicinity of the unit in order to avoid false alarms and to guarantee the function of the unit.

Battery change

• Open the unit by removing the rear cover.
• Remove the empty batteries and dispose of them in an environmentally friendly manner according to the laws of your country.
• Insert two AAA 1.5V batteries. When inserting the batteries, make sure that the +/- polarity is correct to avoid damage.

Attention!

• Batteries are not toys and do NOT belong in children's hands!
• In case of leakage, remove the battery from the unit immediately to avoid damage.
• Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes! In case of contact with battery acid, immediately rinse the affected areas with clean water and consult a doctor immediately!
• Do not use rechargeable batteries with less than 1.5V voltage. This can lead to a malfunction or defect of the door/window contact.

- Do not charge or short-circuit non-rechargeable batteries, there is a DANGER OF EXPLOSION!

- Do not open batteries or subject them to mechanical pressure.

- Dispose of batteries in an environmentally friendly manner and in accordance with the regulations of your country.

Cleaning and Care

Clean the surface of the housing with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use metal brushes, chemicals, abrasives or other aggressive cleaning agents to avoid scratches or damage to the unit.

For this BE COOL appliance we grant a warranty period of 2 years from the date of purchase valid in Austria!

If, contrary to expectations, service work should nevertheless be necessary on your unit during this period, we hereby guarantee to repair (spare parts and labour) or (at the discretion of Schuss) replace the product free of charge. If neither repair nor replacement is possible for economic reasons, we reserve the right to issue a credit note for the current value.

This guarantee does not cover:

The absolute warranty period of 2 years from the date of purchase is not extended by the provision of a warranty service (repair or replacement of the appliance).

The 2-year warranty is only valid on presentation of the purchase receipt (must contain the name and address of the dealer as well as the complete designation of the unit) and the corresponding warranty certificate, on which the type of unit as well as the serial number (visible on the box and on the back or bottom of the unit) must be noted! Without presentation of the guarantee certificate, only the legal guarantee applies!

We expressly point out that the statutory warranty rights are not affected by this warranty and continue undiminished.

Schuss Home Electronic GmbH and its vicarious agents shall only be liable for damages in the event of gross negligence or intent. In any case, liability for loss of profit, expected but not realised savings, consequential damage and damage from third party claims is excluded. Damages to or for recorded data are always excluded from the liability for damages.
