FIRST USE

Before using for the first time, please remove all the various packaging materials and wipe off the unit with a slightly dampened cloth.

Note: When using for the first time, you should operate it without food inside.

  1. Position the device such that it can be opened to the full extent. The hinge is designed to be loose. This allows the batter to expand and for steam to escape.
  2. Apply a light coating of butter, margarine or cooking fat to the heating plates using a brush or a cloth, before using the device for the first time. This helps to seal the heating plates and must only be carried out one time.
  3. Subsequently, shut the lid. During operation and warm up, this must always be closed. Plug the device into a suitable mains socket (the green operation light lights up).
  4. The donut plate requires approx. 4-6 minutes to warm up. When the desired temperature has been attained, the red light starts to illuminate.
  5. When using for the first time, you may notice slight smoke and odor. This will not recur and is due to the final production residues, which are harmless.
  6. After this warm up process, allow the device to thoroughly cool down. Subsequently, clean the device as specified in the chapter on "CLEANING and MAINTENANCE".
  7. The device is now ready to use.

OPERATION

(1) It is recommended to use an oven mitt or pot holder to avoid making contact with hot surfaces. CAUTION: Surfaces of the doughnut maker are hot. To avoid accidental burns or contact with the hot surface or steam being released while cooking, always open and close the lid of the device using an oven mitt or pot holder.

(2) Do not spill the batter onto the mold surface.

  1. Now shut the lid, the baking process will last approx. 8-10 minutes (depending on the thickness and content of the batter).
