How do I use the Bosch VitaPress MCP3000N?

Can I juice other fruits besides citrus?

No, this appliance is designed only for citrus fruits like lemons, oranges, and grapefruits.

How do I clean the citrus juicer?

Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth. The container, strainer basket, pressing cone, and lid are dishwasher-safe. Do not immerse the motor unit.

What should I do if the pressing cone stops rotating?

This is an overload protection feature. Reduce the pressure on the fruit; the cone will restart automatically.

Which parts are dishwasher safe?

Is there a pulp control feature?

The MCP3000N model does not include a pulp control filter. That feature is available on the MCP35.. models only.

Read and follow the instruction manual carefully and keep for later reference! Enclose these instructions when you give this appliance to someone else.

If the instructions for correct use of the appliance are not observed, the manufacturer's liability for any resulting damage will be excluded.

This appliance is intended for domestic use only.

This appliance is suitable for pressing citrus fruits, such as lemons, oranges and grapefruits. It must not be used for processing other substances or objects. Use the appliance only with genuine parts and accessories.

Only use the appliance indoors at room temperature and up to 2000 m above sea level. Do not place the appliance on or near hot surfaces, e.g. hobs.

Do not allow persons (also children) with restricted physical sensory perception or mental abilities or with lack of experience and knowledge to operate the appliance unless they are supervised or have been instructed in the use of the appliance by somebody who is responsible for their safety. Keep children under 8 years of age away from the appliance and the power cord and do not allow them to use the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance may not be carried out by children, unless they are aged 8 years or older and are supervised. Children shall not play with the appliance.

⚠️ Risk of electric shock and fire!

Never manually move the pressing cone/drive shaft.

Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate. Do not use the appliance if the power cord and/or appliance are damaged. Only our customer service may repair the appliance, e.g. by replacing a damaged power cord, in order to avoid hazards.

Never connect the appliance to timer switches or remote-controllable sockets.

The mains lead must not come into contact with hot parts or be pulled across sharp edges. Never immerse the appliance or mains cable in water or place it in the dishwasher!

After each use, whenever the appliance is unsupervised, prior to assembly, prior to disassembly, prior to cleaning and in the event of an error, the appliance must always be disconnected from the mains. Prior to replacing accessories or replacement parts that are moved during operation, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from the mains.

Operation

Preparation

■ Clean the individual components before using for the first time.
■ Unwind the cord.
■ Place the appliance on a smooth, clean surface.

Assemble the appliance ( → Fig. 1):

■ Place the container on the motor unit and rotate in a clockwise direction until it locks into position.
■ Insert the strainer basket and rotate gently until it is situated fully on the container.
■ Attach the pressing cone.

Pressing fruit

■ Press halved citrus fruit onto the pressing cone and hold fruit in position. The citrus press starts running when the fruit is pressed onto the pressing cone ( → Fig. 2).

Note: The pressing cone may rotate in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction.

The direction of rotation may change while the fruit is being pressed.

If excessive pressure is applied, the pressing cone stops. Reduce the pressure until the pressing cone restarts.

■ To switch off the appliance, reduce the pressure on the pressing cone. The citrus press switches off automatically.
■ Empty the full strainer basket.

Note (for MCP35.. only):

The fruit pulp content of the juice can be affected by rotating the lower filter insert (f).

A narrower gap means less fruit pulp

(→ Fig. 1a), but also a slower flow rate. If more juice is required, adjust or remove the lower filter insert.

Take the strainer basket apart in order to clean it.

When re-assembling the strainer basket, ensure that the parts are in the correct position ( → Fig. 1b).

Cleaning and servicing

Caution!

Surfaces may be damaged. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents. Do not immerse the motor unit in water. Do not steam-clean the appliance!

■ Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth, if required use a little washing-up liquid. Dry immediately.
■ The container, strainer basket, filter insert, pressing cone and lid are dishwasher-proof.

Storage

■ Assemble the citrus press and attach the lid.
■ Wind up the power cord in a clockwise direction ( → Fig. 3).

Disposal

Dispose of packaging in an environmentally-friendly manner. This appliance is labelled in accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EU concerning used electrical and electronic appliances (waste electrical and electronic equipment – WEEE). The guideline determines the framework for the return and recycling of used appliances as applicable throughout the EU. Please ask your specialist retailer about current disposal facilities.

The guarantee conditions for this appliance are as defined by our representative in the country in which it is sold.
