How to use the SilverCrest IAN 279763 Shiatsu massage cushion?

Place the cushion on the back of a chair, secure it with the Velcro strap, plug in the power adapter and turn on the device with the On/Off button. Use the rotation buttons to choose the massage direction and the heat button to activate the heating function. Do not exceed 15 minutes of continuous use.

What is the maximum recommended usage time?

The maximum operating time is 15 minutes. The device turns off automatically after this period. Allow the device to cool down before using it again.

Can the massage cushion be machine washed?

Only the cover is machine washable. Use a delicate cycle at 30 °C. Do not bleach, do not tumble dry, and do not iron. The cushion itself can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a little mild soap.

We congratulate you on the purchase of your new device. You have selected a high quality product. Please make yourself

familiar with the massage cushion before preparing it for use or using it for the first time. To do so, please carefully read the following operating instructions and the important safety information. Use the massage cushion only as described and for the indicated purposes. Keep these instructions in a safe place. If you pass the massage cushion on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation.

Intendeduse

This massage cushion is intended for massaging the human body. It can be used to massage to specific areas of the neck and shoulder region of the human body. You can complement the massage with thermal treatment. The combination of intensive shiatsu massage and the thermal function make the massage cushion effective and relaxing to use. The massage cushion is only for private use; it is not intended for medical or commercial purposes and is not a substitute for medical treatment. In particular it must not be used to massage babies, infants, vulnerable persons, or animals. The massage cushion is only suitable for use in dry indoor locations. Any other form of use or any modifications to the massage cushion are not permitted and may result in injury and / or damage to the cushion. The manufacturer accepts no liability for any damage caused by improper use. The massage cushion is not intended to be used for commercial purposes.

Important safety instructions

This device may be used by children age 8 years and up, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or lacking experience and/or knowledge, so long as they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the device and understand the associated risks. Do not allow children to play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.

WARNING! DANGER OF

ELECTRICSHOCK! Ensure that the massage cushion, operating device, mains adapter and power supply cord do not come into contact with water, steam or other liquids. Use the massage cushion only in dry indoor environments (e.g. never in the bath, sauna). If a massage cushion falls into water, do not attempt to pick it up. Pull the mains adapter out of the mains socket immediately. There is a risk of electric shock.

Do not improperly use the power supply cord to carry, hang up or to unplug the massage cushion from the mains. Do not allow the power supply cord to become trapped, kinked

or twisted. Keep the massage cushion and power supply cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges. If the power supply cord is damaged or severed, do not touch the power supply cord, instead pull the mains plug out of the socket immediately. Damaged or tangled power supply cords increase the risk of electric shock.

Do not use the massage cushion in damp conditions (e.g. when bathing or showering).

Do not insert needles or pointed objects into the massage cushion. There is a risk of electric shock.

- Operate the massage cushion: - only with the supplied mains adapter plug and at the voltage indicated on the mains adapter, - never operate it during a thunderstorm.

WARNING! DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK AND IN-

JURY! Do not subject the massage cushion to shock and do not drop it. Before every use, check the massage cushion, mains adapter plug and its cords carefully for signs of wear and / or damage. Do not use it if you see

signs of wear and tear or damage or if the massage cushion has been used incorrectly and switch it off immediately in case of defects or malfunction. In this case, return it to the dealer before using it again. There is a danger of electric shock and injury.

FIRE HAZARD! Do not

cover the massage cushion during use (cushions, covers etc.). Never use the massage cushion near petrol or other readily flammable substances.

Ask your doctor and, if relevant, the manufacturer of your heart pacemaker before you use this massage cushion. Under certain circumstances, the electrical and magnetic fields emitted from the massage cushion could interfere with the proper functioning of your pacemaker. However, the values are well under the permitted limits.

Do not use the

massage cushion for massaging around the heart if you have a heart pacemaker. Otherwise there is a danger to life.

INJURY! Do not use this massage cushion on vulnerable people, children, or people who

are insensitive to heat (e.g. diabetics, people whose skin is affected by illness or who have scarred skin in the area where the heat will be applied) or animals. Do not use the massage cushion during pregnancy, after taking painkilling medication or alcohol. There is a risk of injury.

Take care that you do not fall asleep while the massage cushion is in operation. There is a risk of skin burns. Do not use the massage cushion while driving.

surface of the massage cushion becomes hot during op- eration. People who are insensitive to heat must be careful while

using the massage cushion. There is a risk of skin burns.

- Do not use the massage cushion on swollen, burned, inflamed, diseased or injured parts or regions of the body or areas of skin. There is a risk of injury. If you are in doubt, seek medical advice before using the massage cushion, in particular:

• if you suffer from a serious illness or have had an operation on the upper part of your body,
• if you have a heart pacemaker, implant or other medical device,
• if you are suffering from thrombosis,
• if you suffer from pains with an undiagnosed cause.

The massage cushion must not be used on the face (e.g. eyes), on the larynx, the feet or other sensitive body parts. There is a risk of injury.
■ Repairs may only be carried out only by qualified specialist personnel or in a workshop approved by the manufacturer. Improper repairs may result in considerable danger for the user.

- Start-up

Do not open the zip fastener on the massage cushion. It is provided for reasons connected with the manufacturing process only.

Note: The massage cushion may give off an odour of plastic on first use. This odour will cease to develop after a short while.

Note: Do not lie, sit or stand with your full weight on the moving parts of the massage cushion and do not place any objects on the cushion.

Note: Ensure that you are experiencing the massage as pleasant and relaxing. If necessary, vary the pressure and/or your position. Stop the massage at once if it is painful or unpleasant.

Note: The massage cushion has two functions for a targeted massage treatment, finger pressure massage and heat. The thermal function can also be used without the shiatsu massage. If necessary pull the cover 9 over the massage cushion 1.

Note: The massage cushion 1 can be used with or without a cover 9.

Note: Use the massage cushion for a maximum of 15 minutes. Longer use may lead to over-stimulation and hence tension in the muscles. The device will automatically shut off after approx. 15 minutes.

Note: Allow the device to cool down before you use it again.

Place the massage cushion on the back rest of a high chair and attach it to the back with a velcro band.
Sit on the chair and check if the massage cushion is in the desired position. If not, change the position.
☐ Insert the connector plug into the power cable in the massage cushion. Position the cord to avoid creating a trip hazard. Plug the mains adapter 8 into the socket. Ensure that this is always accessible.
Control the massage cushion with the operating device 3.
☐ Switch the device on by pressing the ON/OFF 4 button. The green power indicator light switches on.

Start-up / Troubleshooting / Cleaning and Care

Press the button 6 to switch on the massage function with outward rotation. The green LED switches on.
Press the button 5 to change the direction of rotation. The LED switches off and is now green.

Note: You can also start the massage with the other rotation direction.

The thermal function can be switched on at any time during the shiatsu massage. Press the heat button 7, to activate this function. The red LED switches on. The heat is distributed across the 2 massage heads.
Press the heat button again to switch off the heat function. The red light switches off.
Press the ON / OFF button to switch the device off. The green power indicator light switches off. Then pull the mains adapter 8 out of the mains socket.

☐ Small stains can be removed with a cloth or moist sponge and if necessary with a little mild detergent. Do not use solvent-containing cleaners.

Clean the cover 9 in accordance with the cleaning symbols on the label. It is machine-washable. Set

the washing machine to a delicate wash cycle at 30 °C.

Storage

RISK OF DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT OR PROPERTY! Let the massage cushion cool before putting it away. Otherwise material damage could occur.
RISK OF DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT OR PROPERTY! To prevent the massage cushion from becoming sharply creased, do not place other objects on top of the cushion when it is stored. Otherwise material damage could occur.
If you do not intend to use the massage cushion for a long time, store it in the original packaging in a dry environment and without weighing it down.

☐ Roll up the mains adapter cord carefully to avoid breaking the cable.

●Disposal

The packaging and ancillary packing consist of environmentally friendly materials. They can be disposed of at your local recycling facility.

Do not dispose of electric equipment in the household waste!

In accordance with the European Directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its transposition into national law, used electrical equipment must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn out massage cushion.

We provide a 3-year warranty covering faults in materials or manufacture of the massage cushion from the purchase date.

The warranty does not cover:

- Damage from improper use.

• Damage caused by the customer.
• If the device has been opened by an unauthorised repair shop.

This warranty does not affect the customer's legal rights. The customer must provide proof of purchase in order for any warranty claims within the warranty period to be honoured. Warranty claims must be filed with MGG Elektro GmbH, Düsseldorf, Germany within 3 years from the date of purchase.
