Frequently Asked Questions - Compact Fresh 6792 OBH NORDICA

What is the maximum bowl capacity of the OBH Nordica Compact Fresh 6792?
The maximum bowl capacity is 1.8 litres. For liquid ingredients, the capacity is 1 litre. The measurement scale on the bowl can be used as a guide.
Can I chop hard spices like nutmeg or coffee beans in this food processor?
No, hard spices such as nutmeg, coffee beans, or ice cubes must not be chopped in the food processor as they can damage the knife blade.
Why won't my food processor start?
Ensure the bowl and lid are correctly positioned. The appliance cannot start if they are not properly assembled. Also, if the motor is overheated due to prolonged use or overloading, the overheat protection may have triggered. Unplug and let it cool for at least 30 minutes.
How should I clean the motor section?
Never immerse the motor part in water or any liquid. Use a damp cloth to wipe it clean. All removable parts (bowl, lid, accessories) are dishwasher safe.
What is the maximum operating time when using the steel knife?
The total operation time with the steel knife should not exceed 1 minute. For best results, use the pulse function to avoid over-chopping.
What accessories are included with the Compact Fresh 6792?
The food processor includes a steel knife blade, a double-sided grating/cutting disc, and a pusher. The disc has one side for grating and one for slicing.
Can I use the food processor to mix dough?
The manual does not specifically mention dough mixing. It is designed for chopping, slicing, grating, and blending. For heavy doughs, it is not recommended due to motor limitations.
What should I do if the appliance suddenly stops during use?
This is likely due to the overheat protection activating if the appliance was run for longer than 1 minute or with too much load. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool for at least half an hour before restarting.
How do I attach the grating/cutting disc?
Choose the desired side (grating or slicing) and attach the disc to the drive shaft in the centre of the bowl with that side facing upwards. Then place the lid on the bowl and turn it clockwise until it clicks.
Is the product covered by a warranty?
Yes, OBH Nordica offers a 2-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland. The warranty requires a valid proof of purchase and covers repair or replacement at OBH Nordica's discretion.

How to use the food processor

The food processor can be used to blend, chop, grate, carve and mix food.

The motor of the food processor drives the cutting blades at high speed to ensure a good and homogeneous result. Consequently, it is important always to place the appliance on an even and dry surface before use.

Make sure that the bowl and lid are correctly positioned on the motor part. If not, the food processor cannot start.

To position the bowl correctly, insert the drive shaft into the hole in the motor section. Put the bowl on the motor part and turn the bowl handle anticlockwise so that the handle points to the right once the bowl is correctly fitted. Mount the wanted accessory to the drive shaft (see section “Mounting of accessories”). Put the lid on the bowl. The plastic rod on the outer side of the

lid shall be to the right of the grip of the bowl. Turn the lid clockwise. The lid has been correctly positioned when you hear a click. Please note that the appliance cannot be started until the bowl and the lid have been correctly positioned.

Always be sure that there are ingredients in the bowl before starting the food processor.

The maximum bowl capacity is 1,8 litre (liquid ingredients 1 l), but when preparing certain foods, the capacity is less – see the section “Quantities and indicative speed”. Use the measurement scale on the bowl as an indication.

Quantities and indicative cooking times

Accessory To be used for: Max. capacity Setting
Knife Choppinge.g.:Meat Approx. 300 gPulse (moment) or 2
Slicing disc Cuttinge.g. vegetables, cheese, potatoes, slicing of fruit1 or 2
Grating disc Gratinge.g. vegetables, cheese, potatoes, chocolate, fruit1 or 2

When the bowl and the lid have been correctly positioned, the food processor is ready for use. Check that the speed selector is at position "0" and then plug the appliance in the main supply. Turn the speed selector to the wanted speed for a few seconds. Then turn it back to "0" and see whether you get the result you want. The process is very fast, so do not work too long at a time. Take off the lid by grabbing the hopper and turn counter-clockwise to remove the lid.

Use the function “Pulse” (moment) for short intervals. Keep the contact in that position to make the food processor work. As soon as the button is released, the food processor will stop.

Mounting of accessories

All accessories must be attached to the drive shaft positioned in the centre of the motor section. Then place the bowl over the drive shaft so that it sticks up through the hole in the bowl. Make sure that the bowl is correctly positioned.

Knife (steel) (9)

Please note that the knife is extremely sharp, so please do not touch the blades! Attach the blade to the drive shaft in the centre of the bowl. Put on the lid as previously described. Set the speed selector at "2". The total operation time should not exceed 1 minute.

After use, turn the speed selector back to "0". Remove the blade from the drive shaft by lifting it up. Then remove the bowl from the motor section by turning it clockwise.

Use the "Pulse" function to avoid that the ingredients are too finely chopped.

Normal cooking time is about 30-60 seconds.

The steel knife is used to chop chocolate, cheese, meat, spices, fruit, and vegetables (e.g. onions).

Disc for grating and cutting (8)

Choose if you want to use the grating or slicing side of the disc. Attach it to the drive shaft in the centre of the bowl with your choice of grater or slicer facing upwards. Place the lid on the bowl as described earlier. Set the speed selector at "1" or "2".

The grating and carving disc can be used for cutting potatoes, onions, cucumbers, roots, apples, and carrots etc.

Pusher (6)

Always use the pusher to push firm ingredients into the feed tube. NEVER use your fingers, a spatula or utensils other than the delivered pusher for this purpose. Liquid and small ingredients can advantageously be added via the hopper.

NOTE!

- Hard spices (such as e.g. nutmeg, coffee beans or ice tubes) must not be chopped in the food processor as this might damage the knife.

How to disassemble the appliance

  1. Remove the pusher and the feed tube. Turn the lid counter-clockwise, lift it and take it off.
  2. Remove the knife, the whisk or the disc.
  3. Remove the accessory holder.
  4. Turn the bowl clockwise to remove it from the motor part.
  5. Remove the driving shaft.

Cleaning and maintenance

Always unplug the appliance before cleaning. The motor part should never be immersed in water or other liquids. Use a damp cloth for cleaning the motor part. All loose parts (bowl, feeder, tube, discs and blades) are dishwasher-proof. Do not use scouring powder or other aggressive detergents as these may scratch or dull the surface.

ATTENTION!

The knife and the cutting blades of the discs are very sharp. So be careful.

Remove any congealed remains after a short soaking with a mild detergent and a soft brush.

IMPORTANT: NEVER IMMERSE THE MOTOR PART INTO ANY KIND OF LIQUID!
