Frequently Asked Questions - Sol THW-2000 WILFA

How do I adjust the angle of the heater head?
Wait 15 minutes after switching off the heater. Then loosen the bolt in the joint with a screwdriver, manually tilt the head to the desired angle (between 10° and 32°), and retighten the bolt.
What are the power settings and how do I change them?
Use the pull chain. Each pull cycles through: 0 (off) -> 1 (upper tube only, 1000W) -> 2 (both tubes, 2000W) -> 1 (lower tube only, 1000W) -> 0 (off). The setting is shown in a small window.
Can I use this heater in the bathroom?
No. The manual states: Do not use this heater in the immediate surrounding of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool. It is splash-proof but not for wet rooms.
What is the minimum distance from flammable materials?
The heater must be at least 0.9 meters (3 feet) away from combustible materials on all sides, and at least 1.8 meters above the floor.
How do I install the heater on the wall?
1) Mark two horizontal lines 98 mm apart. 2) Drill four holes: two on the upper line 140 mm apart, two on the lower line aligned centrally. 3) Insert plastic expansion pins. 4) Screw two screws into the upper pins leaving 8 mm protruding. 5) Hang the heater on the upper screws and secure with a screw through the lower hole.
What should I do if the heater falls over?
If the heater tips over, the anti-tilt switch will automatically turn it off. Once restored to an upright position, it will turn on again. Never operate the heater if it has fallen over until it is properly upright.
Can I use an extension cord or timer with this heater?
No. The manual warns: Do not use this heater with a programmer, timer or any other device that switches the heater on automatically, as there is a fire risk if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.
How do I clean the heater?
Switch off and unplug the heater. Allow it to cool completely. Wipe the exterior with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not immerse in water or use harsh chemicals.
What does the '0', '1', '2' on the window mean?
0 = off, 1 = one heating tube on (1000W), 2 = both tubes on (2000W). The cycle goes 0, 1, 2, 1, 0 as you pull the chain.
Is the heater safe to leave unattended?
The heater includes an anti-tilt switch and overheat protection, but general safety guidelines recommend not leaving it unattended, especially near children, elderly, or pets. Always switch off after use.
