Frequently Asked Questions - LS180 BLAUPUNKT

How do I pair my Bluetooth device with the LS180 soundbar?
Press the Input button on the remote repeatedly until the display shows BT (flashing). Enable Bluetooth on your device, search for BP LS180, and select it. Once paired, the Bluetooth symbol on the soundbar will stay lit. If pairing fails, ensure no other Bluetooth device is connected and that you are within 10 meters without obstacles.
Why is there no sound from the soundbar in Optical or HDMI mode?
First, check that the audio output of your source device (TV, DVD player) is set to PCM stereo or stereo 2.0. Also ensure the cable connections are secure. For HDMI, confirm your TV supports HDMI ARC and that the correct port is used. If the issue persists, try a different optical cable or reset the soundbar by pressing and holding the Play/Pause button for 3 seconds.
Can I wall-mount the soundbar?
Yes, the soundbar can be wall-mounted using the included L-shaped brackets, double-sided tape, screws, and anchors. First, attach the brackets to the soundbar avoiding the rubber feet. Mark the hole positions on the wall, drill, insert anchors, and screw the brackets. Finally, press the soundbar onto the brackets. Ensure the wall is reinforced and allow at least 25mm (1 inch) between the soundbar and TV.
How do I connect the soundbar to my TV via optical cable?
Remove the protective cap from the OPTICAL input on the soundbar. Connect one end of an optical cable (not included) to the TV's OPTICAL OUT and the other end to the soundbar. Then press the Input button on the remote to select OP mode. If no sound, set the TV's audio output to PCM.
What should I do if the soundbar automatically turns off?
The soundbar has an energy-saving mode that puts it into standby after 30 minutes of no audio input. If this happens, simply press the Power button to turn it back on. To prevent this, ensure the audio source is playing continuously or increase the volume level on the source device so it is not mistaken for silence.
How can I play music via USB?
Insert a USB drive (up to 32GB, formatted with MP3 or WAV files) into the USB port on the soundbar. The unit will automatically detect and start playing. Use the remote to control playback (previous/next, play/pause). Note that using a USB extension cable is not recommended as it may cause audio loss or intermittent sound.
Why is the remote control not working?
First, check the batteries: replace them with fresh AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. The remote works best within 5 meters and without obstacles. If the batteries are low, the sensitivity decreases. Also ensure the remote sensor on the soundbar is not blocked. If all else fails, reset the soundbar by long-pressing the Play/Pause button.
How do I clean the soundbar?
Always unplug the soundbar before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use chemical solvents, aerosol sprays, or water directly on the unit. For dust in the woofer, use a dry cloth gently. Avoid getting moisture into any openings.
What are the dimensions and power specifications?
The soundbar dimensions are 960 x 112 x 70 mm (W x H x D). It operates on AC 110-240V, 50/60Hz with a power consumption of 120W (on mode) and less than 0.5W in standby. The total output power is 100W RMS (20W x 2 + 30W x 2 woofers).
Can I connect the soundbar to a TV without HDMI ARC?
Yes, you can use the optical or AUX input. For optical, connect an optical cable from the TV's optical output to the soundbar's optical input. For AUX, use the included 3.5mm stereo to RCA cable. Ensure the TV's audio output is set to PCM for digital connections. Note that volume control via the TV remote may not work with these connections; use the soundbar's remote instead.

Wired audio connection and settings

First turn on the device before turning on the soundbar. The soundbar has digital (optical and HDMI (ARC)) and analog (AUX IN) inputs for various sources. See the connection instructions below, depending on the device you have.

1. Connecting the soundbar to TV outputs.

Remove the protective cap from the OPTICAL connector, then use an optical cable (not supplied) to connect the TV's OPTICAL OUT port to the OPTICAL input socket on the soundbar. The connection via HDMI (ARC) / AUX connector is the same.

3. Connect the soundbar to a DVD or Blu-ray DVD player.

Check which outputs your DVD / Blu-ray DVD player has, then use the appropriate cable to connect the device to the soundbar. For proper operation, it is sufficient to connect with one type of connector.

See the drawing below:

graph TD A["DVd Player"] --> B["Optical Cable"] B --> C["Audio cable(cluded)"] B --> D["Optical cable(not included)"] D --> E["HDMI cable(not included)"] E --> F["HD/ACD"]

4. Connecting the soundbar to an MP3 player

The soundbar has one MP3 Link (AUX) input to which any MP3 player can be connected. Use a suitable cable terminated with mini plugs as shown in the figure below.

3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable (not included) Phone Media player

Note:

  1. If there is no sound from the soundbar when connected via optical or HDMI cable, check whether the digital audio output setting of the source device (e.g., DVD player, game console, TV) is set to "PCM stereo" or "stereo 2.0". Refer to the user manual of the TV or other source device for this procedure. When purchasing, choose an HDMI cable with a 19-pin plug and one that supports HDMI V1.3 or higher.
  2. HDMI (ARC): The soundbar supports the HDMI ARC standard. If your TV is HDMI ARC compliant (see your TV's user manual for details), you can listen to TV audio through the soundbar using a single HDMI cable (not supplied). The HDMI ARC connector on your TV may be labeled differently; see your TV's user manual.
  3. Audio output in optical and HDMI modes may be louder than in AUX IN mode, which is normal because the level of the digital audio signal may differ from the level of the analog signal.
  4. After proper mounting and connection of the soundbar, use it according to this user manual.

Operation

Power connection: Check that the power source matches the voltage specification on the rear panel of the soundbar and subwoofer. If it does not match, contact the dealer or service center. Plug the supplied mains plug into a wall outlet for the power source.
