Important Safety Instructions
Caution:
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover (or back). No user serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
To achieve the utmost in enjoyment and performance, and in order to become familiar with its features, please read this manual carefully before attempting to operate this product. This will assure you years of trouble free performance and listening pleasure.
Important Notes
• This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference. - The apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or splashing or placed in a humid atmosphere such as a bathroom. • Do not install the product in the following areas: - Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to radiators. • On top of other stereo equipment that radiate too much heat. • Blocking ventilation or in a dusty area. • Areas where there is constant vibration. • Humid or moist places. • Do not place near candles or other naked flames. • Operate the product only as instructed in this manual. - Before turning on the power for the first time, make sure the power adaptor is properly connected. - Plug-in the USB stick directly or use an USB-extension cable which is not longer than 25 cm.
For safety reasons, do not remove any covers or attempt to gain access to the inside of the product. Refer any servicing to qualified personnel. Do not attempt to remove any screws, or open the casing of the unit; there are no user serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Read Instructions - All the safety and operating instructions must be read before the product is operated.
- Retain Instructions - The safety and operating instructions should be kept with the product for future reference.
- Heed warnings - All warnings on the product and in the operating instructions should be adhered to.
- Follow instructions - All operating and users' instructions should be followed.
- Installation - Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
- Power sources - This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated by the marking adjacent to the power cord entry. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your product dealer or local power company.
- Grounding or polarization - the product is not required to be grounded. Ensure that the plug is fully inserted into the wall outlet or extension cord receptacle to prevent blade or pin exposure. Some versions of the product are equipped with a power cord fitted with a polarized alternating line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit onto the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug. When using an extension power-supply cord or a power-supply cord other than that supplied with the appliance, it should be fitted with the appropriate molded plugs and carry safety approval appropriate to the country of use.
- Power cord protection - Power-supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on, kinked or pinched by items placed on or against them, paying particular attention to cords from plugs, receptacles and the point where they exit from the product.
- Overloading - Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or multiple sockets, as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
- Ventilation - The product must be properly ventilated. Do not place the product on a bed, sofa, or other similar surface. Do not cover the product with any items such as tablecloths, newspapers, etc.
- Heat - The product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other products, including amplifiers that produce heat. No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.
- Water and moisture - To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the product to rain, dripping, splashing or excessive moisture such as in a sauna or bathroom. Do not use this product near water, for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool (or similar).
- Object and Liquid Entry - Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings, as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-circuit parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product. Do not place any object containing liquid on top of the product.
- Cleaning - Unplug the product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Dust in the woofer may be cleaned with a dry cloth. If you wish to use an aerosol cleaning spray, do not spray directly on the cabinet; spray onto the cloth. Be careful not to damage the drive units.
- Attachments - Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer, as they may cause hazards.
- Accessories - Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table. The product may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious damage to the product. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table recommended by the manufacturer or sold with the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the manufacturer's instructions and should use a mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer.
- Moving the product - A product and cart combination should be moved with care.
Quick stops, excessive force and uneven surfaces may cause the product and cart combination to overturn.
- Unused periods - The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the outlet during lightning storms or when the apparatus is left unused for a long period of time.
- Servicing - Do not attempt to service this product yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
- Please remove the power plug from the main power source or wall power source when not in use. When plugged in to a power source, the system is in standby mode, so the power is not entirely cut off.
- Replacement parts - When replacement parts are required, ensure that the service technician has used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock or other hazards.
- Mains fuses - For continued protection against fire hazard, use fuses only of the correct type and rating.
- Do not turn up the volume while listening to a section with very low level inputs or no audio signals. If you do, the speaker may be damaged when a peak level section is suddenly played.
- The only means of completely disconnecting the product from the power supply is by removing the power cord from the wall outlet or the product. The wall outlet or the power cord entry to the product must remain freely accessible at all times while the product is in use.
- Try to install the product near a wall socket or extension cord and shall be easily accessible.
- The highest environmental temperature suitable for this product is 35°C.
- ESD hints - If the product maybe reset or not reset to operation of control due to electrostatic discharge, just switch off and reconnect again, or move the product to another location.
28. Battery
a. The batteries must not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
b. The batteries should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
c. Battery usage CAUTION - to prevent battery leakage which may result in body injuries, property damage, or damage to the apparatus:
- Install all batteries correctly, + and – as marked on the apparatus.
- Do not mix batteries (old and new or carbon and alkaline, etc.)
- Remove batteries when the unit is not used for a long time.
WARNING
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Never use the device unsupervised! Switch off the device whenever you are not using it, even if this only for a short while.
- The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote control system.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- Before operating this system, check the voltage of this system to see if it is identical to the voltage of your local power supply.
- The unit should not be impeded by covering the ventilation opening with items such as newspaper, table-cloths, curtains etc. Make sure that there are at least 20 cm of space above and at least 5 cm of space on each side of the unit.
- The apparatus must not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that objects filled with liquids, such as vases, must not be placed on the apparatus.
- To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this equipment to hot places, rain, moisture or dust.
- Do not locate this unit near any water sources e.g. taps, bathtubs, washing machines or swimming pools. Ensure that you place the unit on a dry, stable surface.
- Do not place this unit close to a strong magnetic field.
- Do not place the unit on a amplifier or receiver.
- Do not place this unit in a damp area as the moisture will affect the life of electric components.
- If the system is brought directly from a cold to a warm location, or is placed in a very damp room, moisture may condense on the lens inside the player. If this occurs, the system will not operate properly. Please leave the system turned on for about an hour until the moisture evaporates.
- Do not attempt to clean the unit with chemical solvents as this might damage the finish. Wipe with a clean, dry or slightly damp cloth.
- When removing the power plug from the wall outlet, always pull directly on the plug, never pull on the cord.
- Depending on the electromagnetic waves used by a television broadcast, if a TV is turned on near this unit while it is also on, lines might appear on the TV screen.
- Neither this unit nor the TV is malfunctioning. If you see such lines, keep this unit well away from the TV set.
- The mains plug is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device must remain readily operable.
- To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.

Thank you for purchasing our mini audio system. Please read the operation manual carefully before you enjoy the music. This unit has built in 3.7V/1000 mAh lithium battery for playback, and has 6 keys: standby, clock, mode, ▶||, ◀◀, ▶▶, and volume and time. Details please reference below.

Remote control

Power setting and battery charging
Before playing the speaker, please follow the steps below to mount the battery and charge it in order to provide power. The unit has a built-in rechargeable battery inside.
- Open the battery cover on the rear side of the unit and mount the supplied 3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery, ensuring the voltage minus and plus polarity are correct, then close the battery cover.
- Using the supplied USB cable, connect the DC 5V socket on the rear panel, and connect the other terminal to the supplied USB DC power adaptor. Then plug the DC power adaptor into an AC power source.
- During charging, the red LED indicator on the rear panel will turn on, and will turn off after the battery is fully charged (4~6 hours charging time).
- During battery power playback mode, the unit will stop and the display will turn off if the power is too low. A buzz sound will ring 3 times and then the unit will power off. Please connect power for recharging and playing.
Notes:
a. Your battery will last longer if you follow these simple guidelines for charging and storing. b. For the first charge, charge it for at least 10 hours. c. Recharge and store the unit within the temperature range of 5°C~35°C (40°F~95°F). d. Do not charge for longer than 24 hours. Excessive charging or discharging may shorten the battery's life. e. Battery life naturally shortens slowly over time. f. During charging, you can play music at the same time. g. Please do not use it in high humidity and temperature environments for a long time. h. Please turn off the speaker if it will not be used for a long time.
Important:
We do not recommend taking out the battery and playing music based on USB power connection directly, because there may be some unexpected audio noise.
Power on and play
After charging, press and hold the button for 1 second to turn on the unit. Then the display will light up as shown in the picture below. Press the ▶ button to start sound output. Press the mode button to switch play mode (FM, Bluetooth, USB, SD card, aux in).

Notes:
The ⏻ button will cut off the unit's power completely; the power button on the remote control is for unit standby function. You cannot power on the unit from the remote control if you switch off the unit by pressing the power button on the front panel.
Calendar and clock setting
After the unit is powered on, the display will show as shown in the picture below.

1. Default information
The default time setting is 00:00; and the calendar is Wednesday January 1st 2014; volume level: 18; no alarm setting is available.
Warning: If you remove the battery for over 60 seconds, the product will return to default settings. To avoid losing all settings, please connect with USB power source when you replace the battery.
Attention: In the following operation description, "press longer time" means press and hold for 2-3 seconds, "short pressing" means pressing quickly for only 0.5 seconds.
2. Calendar/clock and sleep time setting
In power on mode, press and hold the clock button for about 2 seconds to set up the year first; the symbol of "year" will flash on the display; turn the time adjustment knob clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease years. After setting, press to set the month the same as for years, then set up day and week, hour, and minute in the last (the weekday will update accordingly while you adjust the date). After setting, press to confirm the set time. If no operation for 10 seconds, the time setting will exit and save automatically.
After the minute setting, then press ▶ to set sleep time. Total 6 options: OFF/15/30/60/90/120. And turn the time adjustment knob clockwise or counterclockwise for selection. Press ▶ll button to confirm the setting.
For example, if you set sleep time to 15 minutes, then the unit will turn off after 15 minutes. You need to press the ⏻ button for about one second to power on again, and sleep mode will quit.
3. Alarm/snooze operation
Alarm time setting: Press the mode button and hold for about 2 seconds to wake up the alarm time setting; turn the time adjustment knob clockwise or counterclockwise to select alarm from ① to ④ or from ④ to ①; when turning to alarm ①, the icon ② will flash; press ➤ button to start setting the alarm time for alarm ①; turn the time adjustment knob clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease hour digits on display, then press ➤ button to skip to minutes setting, and turn the time adjustment knob for selection; press ➤ button to confirm the set time for alarm ①, and the unit will return to time mode, the icon ⑥1) will light up on display steadily which means alarm ① has been set up successfully. Please follow the same steps to set up the other 3 alarms.
Alarm cancel: If you want to cancel a set alarm, press the mode button and turn the time adjustment knob to select the desired alarm, press ▶ button once, then the selected alarm will be cancelled. Press and hold will cancel all set alarms. It will exit from setting alarm if no further operation for over 10 seconds.
Radio wake up: In FM radio mode, press "0" and hold for 2 seconds on the remote control, "ON" will show on display, then the current FM station will be set up as the alarm source; press "0" and hold for 2 seconds again, then "OFF" will display, then the FM station alarm source will be cancelled, and switch to "buzz" alarm source.
Snooze: When the alarm is activated, the alarming icon will flash and buzz for 1 minute if
There is no further operation; then the unit will enter snooze mode automatically, and ring up again after 5 minutes; the snooze time will repeat 2 times. The alarm icon will stop flashing after that. You can press any key except ☐ to cancel the alarm and snooze. Please kindly note that when the alarm is activated, the playback output will stop and resume until the alarm is completed.
Important: For our model PP25, you can turn the volume knob instead of the time adjustment knob to achieve the setting operation. The rest is the same as PP20.
FM RADIO
Before FM reception, please extend the telescopic FM antenna as long as it can be. Please place the unit next to a window for better reception. If the FM reception is not good, please try moving to another place for reception.
- If there is no USB, SD, or TF card plugged into the product, press the button shortly to enter FM radio mode, or press the mode button to switch to FM mode. In FM mode, you can press the clock key to switch the display interface between FM radio and clock.
- Press the ▶ button for a longer time to start auto scan and save the stations automatically. Press the ▶ button shortly again, and the auto-scan will stop. The first scanned station will be displayed and saved as P01. The unit can save and preset up to 40 stations.
Important: For PP25, you can press down the volume knob shortly to achieve the FM auto scan and save function, and short press to stop the function.
- Press the button shortly to get the previous preset station, press the button longer to start backward auto scan; short press the button to get the next preset station, press the button longer to forward auto scan; press shortly to mute the sound output; turn the volume knob to adjust the volume output.
- In FM mode, turn the time adjustment knob clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease the FM frequency in 0.1 MHz steps.
Important: For PP25, you can press and hold the volume knob for 2 seconds, then turn the knob clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease the FM frequency in 0.1 MHz steps; press and hold the volume knob for 2 seconds again to resume the volume adjustment function.
- FM operation via remote control.
Press the FM SCAN button briefly to start auto scan and station preset function automatically. Press it again briefly to stop auto scan and play the first preset station. Press the button briefly to decrease the FM frequency by 0.1 MHz per step. Press and hold the button to auto scan backward and stop when an available station is found. Press the button briefly to increase the FM frequency by 0.1 MHz per step. Press and hold the button to start auto scan forward and stop when an available station is found. Press the SAVE key to save the auto-scanned stations. The scanned stations will be saved as P01, P02, and so on up to P40. A maximum of 40 stations can be saved. Each new saved station will overwrite the previously saved stations.
Inputting 1 or 2 digits from the remote control's number buttons can select and play preset stations. For example, if there are 20 preset stations ready in the unit, pressing 1 and 5 on the remote control will display 0015, and the unit will switch to "P15" preset
station and play. If you input 3 or 4 digits from the remote control, the unit will play and select the corresponding FM frequency stations between 87.5-108 MHz. For example, if you input 1043 from the remote control, then 1043 will show on the display and play the FM station at 104.3 MHz.
Press the volume up button to increase the volume, and press the volume down button to decrease the volume.
Bluetooth operation.
- Power on the unit, briefly press the ▶ button for sound output; then briefly press the mode button to switch to "Bluetooth" mode. The "BLUE" will show on the LCD screen along with a notice sound, and the unit is ready to pair with other Bluetooth devices.
- Activate the Bluetooth function on your device to start Bluetooth scanning and pairing. Check the available Bluetooth device list and select "BLAUPUNKT PP20". If a POP screen request appears, input "0000". When a short notice sound comes out from the speaker, it means the unit has paired with your Bluetooth device. If you switch off the Bluetooth function on your Bluetooth device, two short notice sounds will come out from the speaker, indicating that the Bluetooth connection with the speaker is disconnected.
- Select the music and play it on your Bluetooth device, then the speaker will wirelessly play the music via Bluetooth. In Bluetooth mode, you can control play/pause and previous/next track using the ▶// ▶◀/ ▶▶ keys on the remote control or the front panel.
Important: The Bluetooth operation for PP25 is the same, just the pairing name is "BLAUPUNKT Pp25".
USB/SD/micro SD card playback operation
Before starting USB/SD/micro SD card playback, insert the USB/SD/micro SD card into the corresponding slot on the rear panel first. The unit can only detect and play the USB/SD card when a device is present in the slot. Do not insert the SD and micro SD cards at the same time. Only one card (SD or micro SD) can be played at a time.
Power on the unit, short press the ▶ button and press the mode button to switch to USB or SD mode. The unit will read MP3 music from the USB/SD device and start playing from the first song automatically. While USB or SD mode is playing, short press the ▶ button for play/pause control; short press the ◀ or ▶ button for previous or next track selection; press and hold the ◀ or ▶ button for fast backward or forward selection, and resume play after releasing the ◀ or ▶ button.
Notes:
a. Do not use any extension USB cable for connection and playing, as it will impact signal transfer from the device, and intermittent sound may occur. b. The unit supports MP3 up to 320 kbps and WMA up to 192 kbps. It supports USB cards, SD cards, and TF
cards, with a maximum capacity of 32GB.
c. Short press the REPEAT button on the remote control to choose repeat mode: repeat one track → repeat all ⇄ and random play ✗.
d. Long press the REPEAT button on the remote control to start selected music repeat playing operation. The "P-A" will show on the display; at this time the unit will start to memorize the playing music. Long press the 【REPEAT】 button again, the "P---b" will show on the display; at this time the music memory function will stop. The unit will then repeat play the saved music from the start.
For example, when playing music at 00:10, long press the REPEAT button; while the music is playing to time 00:50, long press the REPEAT button again; then the unit will repeat play the music from time 00:10 to
0:50 (40 minutes). If you want to cancel the repeat function, long press the REPEAT button again; the "P---E" will show on the display, and the repeat operation is cancelled.
e. Fast selection: press digits 0-9 on the remote control to choose a song. Input 2 digits if there are over 10 tracks saved in the device; input 3 digits if there are over 100 tracks saved. For example, if you want to play song number 105, press 1, 0, and 5 on the remote control, then 0105 will display and play.
AUX IN and headphone
Using the supplied 3.5mm audio cable, plug into the AUX IN jack on the rear panel, and connect the other end to another audio player. Power on the unit, and press
the ▶ button; the unit will switch to AUX mode automatically. Select the music from your player device and play. The sound will output from the speaker. You can turn the volume knob to adjust the volume.
In any play mode, if you insert headphones into the headphone jack on the rear panel, there will be no sound output from the speaker, but via the headphones. In headphone output mode, the volume will adjust to 18 max automatically; if you want to increase the volume higher, there will be a buzz sound warning you to protect your ears. If you really want to adjust to a higher volume, you have to wait for the end of the buzz sound, then press
the ▶ button immediately; you can increase the volume now. Otherwise, the buzz sound will ring again for about 3 seconds. The max volume is 28 levels once headphones are inserted.
