How do I use the Wilfa WSP-1B for the first time?

Before first use, run the coffee maker with fresh water (no coffee) to flush the system. Fill the removable water tank with cold water, place a paper filter, and start a brew cycle. Discard the water.

What is the recommended coffee-to-water ratio?

Use about 60 g of ground coffee per liter of water. For a full 1.25 L pot, use 75 g. Adjust to taste. Use the included measuring spoon (5, 10, 15 g) for accuracy.

How long does the keep-warm function last?

After brewing, the coffee maker automatically keeps the coffee warm for up to 40 minutes. The 'keep warm' indicator will be active during this time.

How do I adjust the flow control or use the drip stop?

The flow control lever on the filter holder can be turned to the right to act as a drip stop. This allows you to pause brewing momentarily to pour a cup without drips.

Why does the coffee maker make a pumping sound?

The built-in pump pushes water through the system from start to finish. It is normal to hear some sound at the beginning and end of the brew cycle.

How should I clean the Wilfa WSP-1B?

Clean the filter holder, coffee jug, and lid in hot soapy water or on the top rack of the dishwasher. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.

How often should I descale the coffee maker?

Descaling should be done regularly, especially in hard water areas. Use a commercial descaling detergent. Failure to descale may void the warranty.

Can I use the glass jug on a stove or microwave?

No. The coffee jug is designed for use only with the coffee maker. Do not place it on a hob or in a microwave, as it may break.

Congratulations on your new Wilfa SVART Presisjon coffee maker.

With the optimal brewing temperature of 92^ C – 96^ C will give you the best coffee experience. For many, coffee is an important part of everyday life and is often used in social contexts, and what could be better then, than to serve a perfect cup of coffee.

General safety instructions

• Read the instructions carefully before using the appliance, and keep the instructions including the warranty, receipt, and if possible the box with inner packaging.
  ■ This appliance is designed for private use, and for the intended application. It is not suitable for commercial use.
• Keep the appliance away from heat sources, direct sunlight, moisture and sharp edges.
  ■ Do not use with wet hands. Unplug immediately if the unit is damp or wet. Do not immerse in water.
  ■ Do not use outdoors.
  ■ When the unit is cleaned or put away, it must be turned off and the plug must be pulled out of the socket (pull the plug, not the cable).
• Check device and cable regularly for damage. Do not use if it is damaged.

First use of the machine

Please start the coffee maker with fresh water and without coffee before it is used for the first time.

Wilfa SVART Presisjon is equipped with a unique pump that always ensures you fresh water every time you brew coffee.

• Set Wilfa SVART Presisjon on a flat surface.
• Fill the removable water tank with fresh cold water; use the water scale on the side.
• Place the coffee filter (1x4) in the filter holder. Use desired quantity of coffee in the filter.
• We recommend that you use ground coffee, about 60 g per liter of water. Try out the first times until you find out how much coffee you think is best. We also recommend that you use our Wilfa Gram Stål scale that gives 1g intervals for best results.

• We recommend the following ratios of water and coffee:

Please note that different grinds and coffee types will influence these ratios somewhat.

• Set the flow control in relation to water/coffee.
• Turn the power switch on. "Start" button will blink twice.
• Press the start button to start to brewing process.
• Wilfa SVART Presisjon has a unique pump that pulls water through the system from the first to the last drop. The pump can emit some sound at the start and at the end.
• When the brewing process is complete, the unit will go to a "keep warm" position for up to 40 minutes.
• By setting the flow control to the right, it will act as a drip stop.
• The coffee should be served fresh.
• Turn of the power switch, when you are finished using the maker.

Tips

• You can also use our Wilfa NYMALT coffee grinder to change the degree of grind of the coffee. This will also change extraction time.
  • Always use fresh coffee. For best results, the coffee you use is freshly ground.
• To wish for even hotter coffee, the coffee jug can be rinsed in hot water before brewing.

Cleaning

• Use a cleaning product for coffee. Remember to brew through with clean water after the cleaning process.
• If necessary, the device may be cleaned with a damp cloth without any additives.
• Filter holder, coffee jug and lid can be washed in hot soapy water or placed at the top in the dishwasher.
• Never wash other parts of the device in the dishwasher. Never use strong detergents, scouring powders, steel wool or other release agents on any part of the maker.

Descaling

• Use a commercially available descaling detergent.
• Descaling should be done, as needed. In areas with hard water, descaling must be done regularly.
