Frequently Asked Questions - HP-7020B Ravanson

How do I use the Ravanson HP-7020B for the first time?
Before first use, read the safety instructions. Ensure the voltage matches (220-240 V). Place the hob on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Turn the adjustment knob to MAX for a few minutes to burn off any protective coating; a slight odor or smoke may occur initially. Then set to desired temperature.
Why does my hob smell or smoke during first use?
It is normal for a new appliance to emit a slight odor or gentle smoke during the first few minutes of operation as manufacturing residues burn off. If it persists, turn off and contact service.
What type of pots should I use?
Use pots with flat bottoms to ensure good contact with the solid plates. Avoid unstable or oversized pots. The pot diameter should match the cooking zone (18.8 cm or 15.5 cm) for efficiency.
How do I clean the hob?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use solvents, petrol, or abrasive cleaners. Do not immerse in water.
What should I do if the hob does not heat up?
Check if the power cord is properly plugged into a grounded outlet. Ensure the knob is turned to a setting above OFF. If the indicator light is off, the thermostat may have cycled off; wait a moment. If it still doesn't heat, contact an authorized service centre.
Can I use an extension cord with this hob?
It is not recommended. The hob consumes high power (up to 2500 W). If necessary, use a heavy-duty extension cord with a rating of at least 13 A and ensure it is fully unwound to avoid overheating.
Is the hob safe to leave unattended?
No. Never leave the appliance running unattended. Keep it away from flammable materials. The surface becomes hot; children and pets should be supervised.
How does the thermostat work?
The thermostat monitors the plate temperature. Once the set temperature is reached, it disconnects the heating element. When temperature drops, it reconnects. This maintains a steady cooking temperature.
What do the indicator lights mean?
The indicator light illuminates when the heating element is actively heating. It turns off when the thermostat has reached the set temperature and the element is temporarily off.
How should I store the hob when not in use?
Unplug and allow to cool. Store in a dry, dust-free place out of reach of children. Use original packaging if possible to prevent mechanical damage.
