Frequently Asked Questions - SI-107495 Emerio

How do I use the self-clean function?
Ensure the iron is unplugged and set steam control to "O". Fill water tank to max. Select maximum temperature and plug in. Wait for indicator light to go off, then unplug. Hold iron over sink, press and hold self-clean button, and gently shake. Steam and boiling water will flush out impurities. Release button when water is empty. Repeat if needed.
Why is water dripping from the soleplate?
The chosen temperature may be too low for steam formation. Position the thermostat to the maximum temperature setting. Also, ensure you are not using steam while the iron is not hot enough. Wait until the control light goes out.
How can I remove brown stains from the soleplate?
Let the iron cool down, then clean the soleplate with a sponge using a vinegar water solution. Avoid using abrasive cleaners. Also, ensure you are not using too high a temperature.
What type of water should I use in the iron?
Use untreated tap water. If your water is very hard, mix 50% tap water with 50% store-bought distilled or demineralised water. Do not use water from clothes dryers, scented or softened water, or water from air conditioners.
How do I use the burst of steam function?
Turn the temperature regulator to "MAX" and wait until the indicator light goes off. Then press the burst of steam button. For optimal use, allow 3-5 seconds between presses. This can also be used vertically for hanging clothes.
Can I iron vertically with this iron?
Yes, the burst of steam function can be applied when holding the iron vertically. This is useful for removing creases from hanging clothes, curtains, etc. Keep the iron upright.
What does the indicator light mean?
The indicator light shows that the iron is heating up. When the light goes off, the set temperature has been reached and the iron is ready for use.
How should I store the iron after use?
After use, turn the temperature regulator to "OFF", unplug, and let it cool. Empty the water tank by pouring out remaining water and pressing spray button to release residual water. Store the iron upright on its heel.
My iron is not producing steam. What should I do?
Check that the water tank is at least 1/4 filled. Ensure the temperature is set high enough (●● or ●●● MAX). The indicator light must be off. Also, make sure the steam control knob is not at "O". If using dry ironing, steam will not be produced.
How often should I use the self-clean function?
Use the self-clean function at least once per month. If your water is very hard, use it every two weeks.
