How do I replace the bulb?

First, unplug the lamp and let it cool for at least 15 minutes. Use a crosshead screwdriver to remove the screws holding the glass retainers, then carefully remove the lampshade. Pull out the old G4 bulb and insert a new one (max. 20 W). Ensure the pins are correctly engaged, then reassemble the lampshade and screws.

Can I use an LED bulb instead of halogen?

The lamp is designed for G4 12V halogen bulbs. Using an LED bulb with the same base and voltage may work, but ensure it does not exceed the maximum wattage of 20W. However, the manual recommends only the specified bulb type for safety.

Is the lamp dimmable?

No, the manual does not mention dimming capability. The ON/OFF switch is a simple toggle. Using a dimmer could damage the lamp or bulb.

How should I clean the lamp?

To avoid danger to life from electric shock

Before connecting the lamp to the mains 4, always check it and the mains lead/plug for any damage. Never use your lamp if you discover that it is damaged in any way.
If the external flexible lead of this lamp becomes damaged, avoid danger and have it replaced by the manufacturer, his servicing agent or an equivalent electrical appliance repair specialist.

CAUTION! A damaged mains lead presents a serious danger to life from electric shock. In the event of damage, repairs or other problems with the lamp, please contact the Service Centre or an electrician.

■ Never let the lamp come into contact with water or other liquids.
- Never open any electrical devices such as switches, fittings etc. or allow any object to be inserted into them. This sort of interference can lead to a serious danger to life from electric shock.
■ Only touch the insulated part of the plug when connecting to or disconnecting from power!
Before installation ensure that the available mains voltage agrees with the operating voltage required for the lamp (230–240 V \~).

To avoid danger of fire and injury

⚠️DANGER OF INJURY! Check all bulbs and shades for damage immediately after unpacking. Do not fit a defective shade into the lamp. In this event contact the Service Centre for a replacement.

⚠ DANGER OF BURNS! Ensure the lamp has been switched off and allowed to cool before you touch it. In this way you will avoid the danger of burns. Light bulbs develop a great deal of heat.

- Replace defective bulbs immediately. Before replacing the bulb, always remove the mains plug from the mains socket.

- Allow the lamp to cool for at least 15 minutes before replacing a defective bulb.

DANGER OF FIRE! Always ensure that there is at least 0.2 m clear distance between the lamp and other items of furniture or furnishings.

- Do not allow any objects to cover the lamp. Fire can result from the development of too much heat.

■ Position the lamp so that it is protected from moisture and dirt.
■ Never leave the lamp operating unattended.
■ Use the above-indicated bulbs only.
CAUTION! RISK OF INJURY! If protective glass is broken, replace prior to using the lamp again.

Operation

Using the lamp

□ Always ensure that there is at least 20 cm clear distance between the lamp and other items of furniture or furnishings.
□ Unwind the mains cable 4 completely before use.
☐ Insert the mains plug into the socket.
☐ Set the lamp head 1 to the desired height with the telescopic arm 5.
☐ Set the lamp head 1 in the desired position with the adjustment lever 2.

CAUTION! DANGER OF BURNS! If the lamp is switched on, adjust the lamp head 1 with only the adjustment lever 2. Do not touch the lamp head 1. The lamp head 1 gets very hot when the lamp is switched on.

☐ Set the ON / OFF switch 3 into position I to switch on the device.
☐ Set the ON / OFF switch 3 into position 0 to switch off the device.

- Replacing a bulb

CAUTION! DANGER TO LIFE FROM ELECTRIC SHOCK!

Pull the mains plug out of the socket.

Note: To do this you will require a crosshead screwdriver.

☐ Allow the bulb 8 to cool down completely.

Note: Ensure that the lamp shade does not fall out when the last screw 6 is released.

☐ Screw out the screws 6 in the direction and completely remove all the glass-retainers.

Remove the lamp shade 7.

☐ Use a clean, fluff-free cloth when you are replacing a bulb.

□ Draw the defective bulb 8 out of the socket.

☐ Then insert a new bulb (max. 20 W) into the socket.

Note: Ensure that the pins are correctly engaged in the socket.

Place the lamp shade 7 back into the recess.

□ Screw in the screws 6 in the direction C

Note: Ensure that the brackets of the glass-retainers rest properly against the lamp shade 7.

● Cleaning and maintenance

CAUTION! DANGER TO LIFE FROM ELECTRIC SHOCK!

Before cleaning, always pull out the mains plug out of the socket. For electrical safety reasons, never clean the lamp with water or other fluids or immerse it in water.

Do not use solvents such as petrol and the like as they could damage the lamp.

□ Use a dry, fluff-free cloth for cleaning.

☐ The lamp is maintenance-free.

- Disposal

The packaging consists entirely of environmentally friendly materials. They can be disposed of at your local recycling facility.

The symbol of the wheelie bin with a cross through It means that, in the European Union, the product has to be disposed of in a separate refuse collection. This applies to the product and to all components bearing this symbol. Products marked in this way may not be disposed of with normal domestic waste but have to be handed in at a recycling collection point for electrical and electronic appliances.
