Product-specific safety instructions
■ Make sure that the solar panel is free of dirt and free of snow and ice in winter. Otherwise the performance of the solar panel will diminish.

FIRE HAZARD! Batteries must not be short-circuited. This can cause batteries to overheat, burn or burst.

EXPLOSION HAZARD! Never throw batteries into fire or water.
■ Very old batteries can leak chemical fluids which damage the product. You should therefore remove the battery if you do not need the solar lamp for any length of time.
- Only use the correct size and recommended type of rechargeable batteries (see „Technical Data“).
Before assembly, check the quality of your walls. The dowels are only appropriate for brick walls. If you are aiming to amount the lamp on another wall, please consult a specialist.
DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! DANGER OF DAMAGE TO PROPERTY! DANGER OF INJURY! Ensure that you do not strike electrical cables, gas or water pipes when you are drilling into the wall. If necessary, check the wall using a suitable detector before you drill.
- Examine the wall before installation and choose suitable installation fixings. We have supplied fixings suitable for an ordinary solid masonry wall.
- Before assembly
The solar panel installed in the article converts sunlight into electrical energy and stores it in a NiMh battery. Switches on the light as it begins to get dark. The in-built light-emitting diodes are a very long-life and energy-saving light source. The light duration depends on the amount of sunlight, the angle of light on the solar panel and the temperature (the battery capacity is temperature-dependent). A vertical angle of light at temperatures above the freezing point is ideal. The battery does not achieve maximum capacity until after several charge and discharge cycles.
- Inserting / replacing rechargeable batteries
☐ Set the ON / OFF switch 13 to "OFF".
□ Screw the nuts 9 anti-clockwise off the cover 1.
☐ Remove the cover 1 and take the solar element 10 carefully out of the lamp 7 (see Fig. B). Make sure that you do not damage the solar element 10 and/or its cable.
NOTE: The solar element 10 is connected to the battery compartment 12.
☐ Insert the rechargeable batteries 11 into the battery compartment 12. Ensure correct polarity. This is indicated in the battery compartment 12.
☐ Insert the solar element 10 back into the lamp 7.
☐ Replace the cover 1 back onto the lamp 7 and fix it in place by tightening the nuts 9 again in a clockwise direction.
- Assembly
☐ Make sure that you mount the product in a place where it is exposed to the sun.
nOtE: You will need a drill for the assembly work.
cAUtIOn! rISK OF InjUrY! Consult the directions for use that came with your drill.
■ cAUtION! WAtEr DAMAGE! Before drilling, ensure that there are no water pipes where you intend to drill.
- Examine the wall before installation and choose suitable installation fixings. We have supplied fixings suitable for an ordinary solid masonry wall.
□ Screw the lamp 7 onto the base 8 (see Fig. A).
□ Screw the nuts 6 anticlockwise off the base 8 (see Fig. C).
☐ Hold the back 3 up against the wall in order to work out the right height for mounting it onto the wall. You may need to use a spirit level to help you.
☐ Mark the boreholes with a pencil.
☐ Use a drill to bore both holes into the wall with the aid of a 6 mm drill.
☐ Place the dowels 5 into the boreholes.
☐ From the back, place the screws 4 into the holes designated for them in the back 3.
☐ Mount the back 3 onto the wall by turning the screws 2 into the dowels 5.
☐ Place the base 8 onto the back 3 in such a way that the screws 4 can also be put through the base.
☐ Screw the nuts 6 onto the screws 4 in order to fix the base 8.
● Operation (see Fig. D)
☐ Set the ON / OFF switch 13 to "ON" in order to switch the lamp 7 on in dark environment.
☐ Set the ON / OFF switch 13 to "OFF" to switch the lamp 7 off.
NOTE: The lamp does not charge in off position.
● Care and maintenance
The light-emitting diodes are non-replaceable.
The solar-powered light is maintenance-free, apart from the need to replace the rechargeable batteries.
☐ Replace the rechargeable battery when the burn time distinctly diminishes after a while despite good incoming solar radiation. Only use rechargeable batteries of the same size and the recommended type (see section on “Technical data”).
☐ Clean the solar-powered light with a dry, lint-free cloth at regular intervals. Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the product if it is more severely soiled.
☐ On no account should you use corrosive detergents.

NOTE: Electrostatic charge can lead to the appliance failing. In cases of the appliance failing to work remove the batteries for a short while and then replace them.
| Error Cause Solution | ||
