Frequently Asked Questions - SSJ 150 A2 SILVERCREST

How do I assemble the SilverCrest SSJ 150 A2 slow juicer?
First, ensure the appliance is unplugged. Place the sieve tray onto the base so the catches fit. Insert the removable sieve frame into the sieve tray, then place the stainless steel sieve into the frame aligning the ▲ marking with the I marking. Put the transport screw onto the drive shaft and press down until it clicks. Attach the housing lid and turn clockwise until it clicks. Finally, place the pulp and juice containers under their respective outlets.
How do I clean the slow juicer after use?
Unplug the appliance first. Remove the pulp and juice containers. Disassemble the lid, sieve tray, sieve, and transport screw. Clean the sieve, transport screw, housing lid, and pusher in warm soapy water or in the top rack of the dishwasher (max 45°C). Wipe the base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water.
Can I juice carrots without peeling them?
Carrots should be washed and cut into small pieces (approx. 2x2 cm). Soaking them in water for 24 hours before juicing is recommended. Peeling is not necessary, but ensure they are well-ripened to avoid clogging the sieve.
What should I do if the appliance stops during juicing?
This may be due to the safety cut-out activating. Turn the switch to 'O', unplug, and let the appliance cool for 10-15 minutes. Remove the housing lid, clear any jammed fruit, then press the reset button on the underside of the base. Reassemble and resume.
How does the reverse function work?
If the motor stalls, set the on/off switch to the 'R' (reverse) position several times in quick succession. This rotates the transport screw in the opposite direction to free stuck fruit. Always stop at 'O' first before switching to 'R'.
Can I juice leafy greens like spinach or kale?
The manual does not specifically recommend leafy greens. It advises avoiding rhubarb or fibrous vegetables that may block the machine. For best results, stick to fruits and vegetables listed in the recipes.
How long can I operate the juicer continuously?
The CO time (continuous operation) is 15 minutes. After that, allow the motor to cool down to prevent damage. Do not exceed this time without a break.
What fruits and vegetables need to be peeled before juicing?
Citrus fruits, melons, kiwis, root vegetables, and any fruit with tough peels must be peeled. Remove large seeds and stones from drupes. Cored fruits like apples can be juiced with skin.
Is the juice container dishwasher safe?
No, the juice container and pulp container are not listed as dishwasher safe. Wash them by hand in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Only the sieve, transport screw, housing lid, and pusher can go in the dishwasher.
What is the warranty period and how do I claim?
The warranty is 3 years from purchase. To claim, contact the service hotline (0871 5000 720 in Great Britain) or email kompernass@lidl.co.uk. Provide the receipt and item number IAN 282311. You may need to return the product to the service address.
