How do I set the time on my Auriol IAN 285321 weather station?

Press the SET button briefly to enter time setting mode. The hours will flash. Use the MIN/MAX button to adjust the hours, then press SET again to adjust minutes. After 60 seconds of inactivity, the display returns to normal.

How do I change the battery?

Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the main unit. Insert a new 1.5V AAA battery with correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover. The external sensor uses the same battery type (included).

What should I do if the outdoor temperature is not displayed?

Check that the external sensor is within range (approx. 2.8m cable) and that the battery is inserted correctly. Remove any nearby sources of electromagnetic interference. If the issue persists, remove the battery from both units and reinsert after a few seconds.

How do I mount the weather station on a wall?

You can use the self-adhesive pad for smooth surfaces or drill a hole for the dowel and screw. For the adhesive option, press firmly and wait 24 hours for optimal adhesion. For wall mounting, use a drill carefully to avoid electrical cables or pipes.

What is the temperature range for the indoor and outdoor sensors?

The indoor sensor measures from -10°C to +40°C. The outdoor sensor (with cable) measures from -40°C to +60°C and is splash-proof rated IP44.

How do I view the minimum and maximum temperature records?

Press the MIN/MAX button to cycle through the lowest indoor/outdoor temperature, then the highest. Press again to return to current temperature. The memory resets daily at 00:00.

Can I use rechargeable batteries?

The manual allows the use of rechargeable batteries with the same type (AAA) and voltage. However, note that rechargeable batteries have lower voltage (1.2V) which may affect performance. Follow the safety instructions for batteries.

What does the IP44 rating of the external sensor mean?

IP44 means the sensor is protected against solid objects >1mm and splashing water from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor use but should not be immersed or exposed to heavy rain.

How do I clean the weather station?

Use a slightly dampened, lint-free cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive or corrosive cleaning agents, as they may damage the surface.

What is the warranty period for the Auriol IAN 285321?

The product comes with a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase against material and manufacturing defects. Keep the original receipt as proof of purchase. Batteries and glass parts are excluded.

We congratulate you on the purchase of your new product. You have chosen a high quality product. The instructions for use are part of the product. They contain important information concerning safety, use and disposal.

Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use. Only use the product as described and for the specified applications.

If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.

- Intended use

The product measures the indoor and outdoor temperature in Degree Celsius (°C). The main unit is placed indoor, and external sensor 5 can be put outdoor. The product also displays the highest and lowest measured

temperature and the time in 24-hour format. The product is not intended for commercial use.

Safety notes

KEEP ALL THE SAFETY ADVICE AND INSTRUCTIONS IN A SAFE PLACE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE!

This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

• Never dismantle the product. Improper repair can cause significant risks to the user. Repairs must always be carried out by a specialist only.
• Do not use the product if it is damaged. Damaged products represent a danger of death from electric shock!
• Do not expose the product to an extremely high electromagnetic field. This may impair the correct functioning of the product.
• Please prevent the housing of the product from rubbing to strongly against textiles. This may result in static charges and affect the results of the measurements.
  Please note that the guarantee does not cover damage caused by incorrect handling, non-compliance with the operating instructions or interference with the product by unauthorised individuals.
• Install the external sensor 5 outdoors so that it is not exposed to direct sunlight.

■ Take care that the mains lead is not damaged on installation.

■ DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries / rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. If accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention.

DANGER OF EXPLOSION!

Never recharge non-recharge-able batteries. Do not shortcircuit batteries / rechargeable batteries and / or open them. Overheating, fire or bursting can be the result.

■ Never throw batteries / rechargeable batteries into fire or water.

Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries/rechargeable batteries.

Risk of leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries

- Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could affect batteries/rechargeable batteries, e.g. radiators/direct sunlight.

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. In the event of contact with battery acid, thoroughly flush the affected area with plenty of clean water and seek immediate medical attention.

WEAR PROTECTIVE

GLOVES! Leaked or damaged batteries / rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs.

In the event of a leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries, immediately remove them from the product to prevent damage.

Only use the same type of batteries / rechargeable batteries. Do not mix used and new batteries / rechargeable batteries.

■ Remove the batteries / rechargeable batteries if the product will not be used for a longer period.

Risk of damage of the product

Only use the specified type of battery/rechargeable battery!
- Insert batteries / rechargeable batteries according to polarity marks (+) and (-) on the battery / rechargeable battery and the product.
Clean the contacts on the battery / rechargeable battery and in the battery compartment before inserting!
■ Remove exhausted batteries/rechargeable batteries from the product immediately.

- Positioning / installing the product

CAUTION! When choosing a position for the product, make sure that it is not exposed to direct sunlight, vibrations, heat, cold damp or dust. Do not install products close to heat sources, e.g. radiators. There is otherwise a danger that the product will be damaged.

Take care that the product is suspended properly if mounted on a wall. If the product falls, it could cause injury or damage to itself or other property.
Place the product on a flat, level surface.
☐ Do not place the product on valuable or sensitive surfaces without suitable protec-

tion. The surfaces may otherwise be damaged.

Stand:

Open the stand 8 on the back of the product to support the product.

Wall mount:

Note: you will need a drill for this step.

⚠️ CAUTION! DANGER TO LIFE, RISK OF INJURY AND DAMAGE TO

PROPERTY! Please read the operating and safety instructions for your drill carefully.

☐ Hold the product on the wall to find a suitable position for installation.

☐ Use a pencil if necessary to mark the required position.

⚠️ DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! DAN- GER OF DAMAGE TO PROPERTY!

DANGER OF INJURY! Ensure that you do not strike electrical cables, gas or water pipes when you are drilling into the

wall. If necessary, check the wall using a suitable detector before you drill.

Drill a suitable hole in the wall using a drill.

☐ Push a dowel 12 into the hole and screw a screw 13 into the dowel 12. Ensure that the screw 13 is not completely screwed into the dowel 12.

☐ Hang the indoor / outdoor thermometer 1 from the screw 13. To do this hook the hanger 11 of the indoor / outdoor thermometer 1 on to the screw 13.

- Mounting the product on a wall

☐ Pull the protective foil from one of the sides of the self-adhesive pad 14.
☐ Stick the self-adhesive pad 14 on to the back of the product.
☐ Pull the protective foil from the other side of the self-adhesive pad 14.
Take the product to the desired location and press it carefully on to a wall or other smooth surface.

Note: Wait 24 hours after installation until using the product. This is to allow the self-adhesive pad 14 to achieve an optimum level of adhesion. After installation, do not change the position of the self-adhesive pad 14, otherwise the level of adhesion achieved by the self-adhesive pad 14 could be reduced.

- Temperature memory

☐ Press the MIN / MAX button 7 to show the lowest temperature measured indoors, "IN" 3, and outdoors, "OUT" 4.
☐ Press the MIN / MAX button 7 again to display the highest measured temperature.
☐ Press the MIN / MAX button 7 again to return to the display of the current temperature.

Note: if the MIN / MAX button is not pressed for 5 seconds, the display automatically reverts to the current temperature.

Note: the stored lowest and highest temperature is deleted every day at 00:00 and measurement begins again.

- Setting the time

☐ Press the "SET" button 6 briefly to begin setting the hours. The hours in the "TIME" display 2 flash.
☐ Press the MIN / MAX button 7 to set the hours.
Tip: keep the MIN / MAX button 7 pressed. This allows you to make the settings faster. If you do not press any button for 60 seconds, the LC display automatically reverts to the standard display.
☐ Press the "SET" button 6 briefly again to begin setting the minutes. The minutes in the "TIME" display 2 flash.
☐ Press the MIN / MAX button 7 to set the minutes.
☐ Press the "SET" button 6 briefly again to confirm the set time.

Note: the set time is also confirmed if no button is pressed after 60 seconds.

Note: the thermometer now displays the current time under "TIME" 2, the indoor

temperature "IN" 3 and the outdoor temperature "OUT" 4.

Troubleshooting

Note: the product contains sensitive electronic components. It is therefore possible that radio transmission devices in its immediate vicinity may cause interference.

☐ Remove any such device from the vicinity of the product if errors occur on the display.

Note: electrostatic discharge may interfere with operation.

In the event of any malfunction, briefly remove the battery and replace it as described under "Inserting / changing the battery".

- Cleaning and care

- Do not under any circumstances use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents.

Otherwise the surface of the product can be damaged.

☐ Use a slightly dampened, non-fluffing cloth to clean the product.

- Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities. The Green Dot is not valid for Germany.

Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1–7: plastics / 20–22: paper and fibreboard / 80–98: composite materials.

Faulty or used batteries / rechargeable batteries must be recycled in accordance with Directive 2006/66/EC and its amendments. Please return the batteries / rechargeable batteries and / or the product to the available collection points.

Batteries / rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with the usual domestic waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and regulations. The chemical symbols for heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of used batteries / rechargeable batteries at a local collection point.

The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. Should this product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it – at our choice – free of charge to you.

The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Please keep the original sales receipt in a safe location. This document is required as your proof of purchase. This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly. The warranty applies to defects in material or manufacture.
