How do I install the driver for the IB-DK2244AC?

Download the latest drivers from displaylink.com and install them before connecting the docking station. Then restart your PC and connect the station via a USB Type-C™ cable.

Which resolutions are supported?

The IB-DK2244AC supports up to 2x 4K@60Hz via DisplayPort™ or HDMI® and 1x 5K@60Hz via DisplayPort™. An additional HDMI® monitor can be operated at up to 4K@30Hz.

Can I use the docking station without Power Delivery on the host?

Yes, but then your notebook will not be powered via the USB Type-C™ interface. Video output and data transfer will still work if the host supports DisplayPort™ Alt Mode.

Which cables do I need for the monitor connection?

Use certified DisplayPort™ or HDMI® cables (not included). For optimal results, we recommend monitors of the same size and resolution.

How do I clean the docking station?

Clean the device with a dry anti-static cloth. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents to avoid scratches or moisture damage.

What to do in case of data loss?

Always back up your data before initial use or connecting new hardware. Follow the instructions in the user manual.

Is the docking station compatible with my Mac?

Yes, the IB-DK2244AC is compatible with macOS®. Install the DisplayLink driver for Mac, connect the station, and restart your computer.

Why is the video output not working?

Make sure your USB Type-C™ port supports DisplayPort™ Alt Mode. Install the latest driver and check the monitor cables. For 5K resolution, use both DisplayPort™ ports.

Can I connect multiple monitors?

Yes, you can connect up to three monitors: two via DisplayPort™ or HDMI® (up to 4K@60Hz) and one additional HDMI® (up to 4K@30Hz). Alternatively, a 5K monitor via two DisplayPort™ ports is possible.

How do I dispose of the device?

Do not dispose of the docking station and accessories in household waste. Take them to a retail store or a community recycling collection point in accordance with the WEEE directive.

Note: The docking station can still connect to a host computer with a USB Type-C™ port that does not support Power Delivery (must still support DisplayPort™ Alt Mode). In this configuration, the docking station will not provide power to your host computer.

USB Type-C™

Not all USB Type-C ^™ ports support the full functionality of the USB Type-C ^™ standard. Some ports might only provide data transfers, and might not support video or power delivery over USB.

To use this dock to its full potential, ensure that the host USB Type-C ^™ port from your computer supports DisplayPort ^™ Alt Mode, as well as USB Power Delivery or Thunderbolt ^™ 3

Starting up

Install the Driver!

Caution: Do not connect the DockingStation to your computer before installing the driver from the download area of: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads

Windows®:

A. Download the correct driver from webpage above.
B. Click on "Run Setup.exe".
C. Follow the instructions and finish the driver installation.
D. Connect the DockingStation to a supported USB Type-C
E. Restart the PC.
F. The IB-DK2244AC is ready to be used.

^TM or USB 3.0 Type-A port on the PC.

macOS®:

A. Download the correct driver from webpage above.
B. Run the file Mac_driver\ driver.dmg by double click.
C. Follow the instructions and finish the driver installation.

Connection to two DisplayPort™ or two HDMI® Monitors

You can set up dual displays by using the video output ports of the IB-DK2244AC (2x DisplayPort, or 2x HDMI®).

Connect your monitors to the DisplayPort™/ HDMI® interfaces by using certified DisplayPort™/ HDMI® cables (not included).

It is recommended that to use the same size, type and resolution monitors for connecting. Same type monitor means the monitors have the same native resolution and display refresh rate.

Connection to one 5K DisplayPort™ Monitor

You can set up one 5K display by using both video output ports of the IB-DK2244AC (2x DisplayPort).

Connect your 5K monitor to both DisplayPort ^™ interfaces by using certified DisplayPort ^™ cables (not included).

Connection to an additional HDMI ^® monitor

Additionally, you can connect a HDMI ^® monitor via the HDMI ^® interface of the IB-DK2244AC.

Connect your HDMI® monitor to the HDMI® interface by using a certified HDMI® cable (not included).

Please setup your displays settings accordingly to your operating system and requirements.

Supported video resolutions

The DockingStation supports 2x 4K@60 Hz Ultra HD resolution if the connected DisplayPort®/ HDMI® displays supports it (up to 3840x2160@60 Hz /each).

The DockingStation supports 1x 5K@60 Hz Ultra HD resolution if the connected DisplayPort® display supports it (up to 5120x2880@60 Hz).

The DockingStation supports 1x 4K@30 Hz Ultra HD resolution if the connected HDM® display supports it (up to 3840x2160@30 Hz).
