How do I clean the Arzum AR5505 beard trimmer?

Can I use it while charging?

• Make sure that the voltage indicated on your appliance corresponds with the mains voltage in your home. Our company shall not be held liable for any failures owing to any discrepancy and such failures shall not be covered by the guarantee.

- Your device is for household use only. Do not use outdoors for commercial or industrial purposes. Otherwise, inconvenient uses shall not be covered by the guarantee.

- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children

without supervision.

• Do not use extension cords that supply improper current in order to prevent damage to your machine.
• NEVER immerse your appliance in water or other liquid and NEVER use near containers containing water or other liquid. You can clean the outside of your appliance using a dry or moist cloth when not in use.

CHARGING THE APPLIANCE

• When the product is used for the first time, please fully charge the battery, and battery power should be completely emptied before it is charged for the second time, thereby extending the life of the battery.
• Charge the appliance for 10 hours until it is completely charged before starting to use it for the first time.
• If you do not charge the battery for a long time, it will malfunction that never charge again.
  • Always make sure that the appliance is completely dry before using or charging.
• Your battery has a product life as others. If you use your battery considering the charging rules, its usage life will be increase.
• When the lifetime of the battery has completed, the battery has to be changed only by an Arzum Authorized Service. Please charge and discharge the new battery according to the instructions mentioned before. Batteries of appliances which are not to be used according to be above mentioned instructions will complete its lifetime early.
• Charging takes approximately 10 hours. The appliance can be used up to 60 minutes after it is charged.
• Switch the appliance off.
• Plug the power supply unit into a socket.
• Your appliance starts charging when charge indicator light turns red. Charging process is completed in 10 hours.
• Do not leave the appliance permanently connected to the mains power socket.
  • Always switch the hairclipper off and unplug the plug from the charger socket after charging is complete.

To extend the lifespan of the hairclipper battery:

• Do not charge the battery every day. Preferably discharge the battery completely every six months and then charge for 10 hours.
• Do not charge the appliance for longer than the recommended charge time. Overcharging reduces the lifespan of rechargeable batteries.
• If the appliance is not to be used for a prolonged period of time, it must be charged for 10 hours before putting it away.

CAUTION:

• Risk of corrosive substance EN leakage and explosion. Batteries shall NOT be disassembled, exposed to excessive heat such as that caused by sunlight, fire or similar sources. They shall NOT be short circuited, mechanically damaged, thrown into the fire, put into water, stored with metallic objects, dropped on hard surfaces. In case of battery leakage, avoid any contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
• Risk of serious lesions. Always keep the batteries out of reach of children. If swallowed, the batteries can cause lethal lesions. Therefore, alw keep the batteries out of reach of children. In the event that is swallowed, contact a doctor or the local poison centre immed
• Charge your appliance at room temperature. The appliance shall not be charged at the temperatures under the 0°C and over 45°C. The charging unit may heat during charging the appliance. It is normal while the battery is charging, the adapter may heat.

CONNECTING/DISCONNECTING THE ACCESSORIES

• To insert an accessory (3): Hold the appliance in one hand, position the desired head and push it down with force until you hear a "click".
• To remove an accessory (3): Press the central part of the head upwards using your thumb, then remove it from the appliance.

Assembly, disassembly and adjustment of combs (6 or 7):

- Slide the adjustable comb (6 or 7) onto the locking grooves on the appliance and push until it clicks into place. Make sure that the comb (6 or 7) is fastened securely in the locking grooves on both sides. To set the comb (6 or 7) to the required cutting length, push the adjustment button (8) and slide the comb into the required position.

• To remove the adjustable comb, press the release buttons on the sides of the appliance and slide the adjustable comb off the appliance.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE WARNING:

• Switch the appliance off before changing any accessories.
• DO NOT use this appliance if there are visible signs of damage. DO NOT use the appliance if the blades are damaged or do not work properly.
  • Make sure that your or hair is dry and clean, with no residue of hairspray, mousse, gel or other hair products, and then brush in the direction of growth, untangling any knots.
• Lubricate the blades of the appliance before each use. Clean the appliance blades using the brush provided and lubricate again.

Do not move the trimmer too fast if you are trimming your hair for the first time. Use the appliance with smooth movements.

• Position the precision head (3) on the appliance when it is off, making it slide onto the head Slide the comb (6 or 7) at the desired cutting height.
• Start with the adjustable comb set to the longest cutting length and reduce the cutting length in gradual steps.
• For the best results, use the appliance against the direction of hair growth.
• As not all hair grows in the same direction, use the appliance upwards, downwards or sideways as needed.

• If an excessive amount of hair builds up in the teeth of the adjustable comb, remove the comb from the appliance and remove the accumulated hair from the comb with the cleaning brush.

• If required, the appliance may be used without the adjustable comb to cut hair very closely to the skin (1 mm) or to trim at the nape of the neck and around the ears.

• Note the cutting length setting used.

Speed Switch Button (4)

Our device has two speed settings. Push the button up (sport mode) for a quick cut or for cutting very thick hair. Push the button down (normal mode) for cutting thinner hair.

CLEANING AND CARE

• Always disconnect the appliance from the socket before. You can clean the exterior by wiping with a dry or damp cloth.
- Do not use powdered products, abrasive liquid products or solvents such as alcohol or petroleum-based products to clean the appliance.
- NEVER plunge your appliance into water or another liquid. Clean also the main body of your appliance with a dried cloth.

Cleaning Blade Head

• Switch the appliance off and disconnect the power supply unit plug
  • To remove the adjustable comb (6 or 7), press the release buttons on the sides of the appliance (5) and slide the adjustable comb off the appliance
• Do not drop the blade head.
• Clean the blade head and the interior of the appliance with the brush provided.
• Insert the lock tab of the blade head in the slot on the appliance and push the head until it clicks into place.
