Frequently Asked Questions - CTT3801V Elvita

What is the maximum drying capacity of the Elvita CTT3801V?
The maximum drying capacity is 8.0 kg. Do not exceed this limit to ensure proper drying and avoid damage.
How do I clean the filters?
Clean the door filter after each use by lifting it out and removing lint. Clean the bottom filter by opening the filter cover, turning the levers, and cleaning thoroughly. Also clean the heat exchanger behind the bottom filter every two months with a sponge or soft brush (moisten lint for easier removal). Unplug the dryer before cleaning.
What should I do if the water tank full indicator flashes?
Empty the water tank by sliding it out, pouring the water into a sink, and replacing it. Then press the Start/Pause button to resume the programme. The dryer will not operate with a full tank.
Why is my laundry not drying completely or taking too long?
Check and clean both lint filters. Ensure the selected programme matches the fabric type and load. Overloading can cause poor drying. Also verify that the ambient temperature is within 5–35°C and that the dryer has adequate ventilation.
Is the Elvita CTT3801V energy efficient?
Yes, it has an A++ energy class. The annual energy consumption is 236 kWh based on 160 standard cotton cycles. The standard cotton programme is the most energy-efficient for drying normal wet cotton laundry.
Can I install the dryer on top of a washing machine?
Only if the correct stacking fittings are used. Do not place the dryer on a washing machine without proper installation, as it may cause instability or injury. Refer to the manual for stacking kit requirements.
How do I use the child lock?
While the dryer is running, press and hold the Signal and Anti-Crease buttons simultaneously for at least 3 seconds. The child lock icon will appear on the display. To deactivate, repeat the same action.
What programmes are available for delicate fabrics?
Use the Delicates programme (max 1.0 kg) for thick/multilayer synthetics, or the Wool programme (1.0 kg) for wool garments. For mixed fabrics, select the Mixed Fabrics programme (3.5 kg).
Can I set a delay start?
Yes, the delay function allows you to postpone the start of a drying programme by up to 24 hours. Select the programme, press the Delay button, set the desired delay time, then press Start/Pause.
What should I do if the display shows 'E32' or 'E33'?
'E32' indicates a fault in the humidity sensor, and 'E33' indicates a fault in the temperature sensor. Contact your local service centre if the problem persists. These errors require professional repair by authorised technicians.

Installation

Transport

Take care when transporting the dryer. Do not lift the appliance by any of its projecting parts. Do not use the door of the appliance as a handle. If the dryer cannot be transported upright it must not be tilted more than 30^ to the right.

Placement

For the sake of convenience we recommend that the dryer is placed near the washing machine.

  1. The dryer must be installed in a clean area where dirt does not gather. Air must be able to circulate freely around the appliance. Do not cover the air inlet at the front, or the air vent at the rear of the appliance.
  2. Stand the dryer on a hard, flat surface to minimize vibration and noise when it is running.
  3. Never remove the feet from the dryer. Do not stand the dryer on thick carpet, strips of wood or the like that could reduce the clearance between the dryer and the floor. This could cause overheating and impair the operation of the appliance.

Advice

  1. Spin-dry laundry before tumble drying. This reduces the drying time and saves energy.
  2. Sort the laundry by fabric and drying programme to get the best drying results.
  3. Close zips and fasten buttons and belts before tumble drying.
  4. Do not over-dry laundry as this leads to more creasing.
  5. Do not dry garments that contain rubber or similar elastic materials, such as rainwear, saddle covers and the like.
  6. Only open the door when the drying programme has finished. Do not open the door early, as you could be scalded by steam or heat from the dryer.
  7. Clean the lint filters and empty the water tank after each use, to save energy and avoid prolonged drying time.
  8. By using the special wool programme to dry woollen garments you can preserve the softness and fluffiness of the garments.
