How do I activate the child safety device on my Zanussi ZKT623LN hob?

To activate, switch on the hob, then within 10 seconds touch the + and - controls simultaneously for about 2 seconds. Release, then touch the + control again. L will appear in the displays for about 10 seconds confirming activation.

What does the residual heat indicator 'H' mean?

The letter 'H' appears in the display of a cooking zone that is still hot after use. It warns you that the zone is hot enough to cause burns. Do not touch the zone until the indicator goes out.

Why does my hob turn off automatically during cooking?

The hob has a safety cut-off feature. If a cooking zone is left on for a long time without changing the setting, or if liquid boils over and spills onto the controls, the hob will switch off automatically. Simply switch it back on using the ON/OFF control.

How do I clean the ceramic glass surface of my Zanussi hob?

Clean the surface when it is hand warm or cold. Use a damp cloth with a little washing-up liquid for light soil. For stubborn burnt-on food, use a glass scraper at an angle. Then apply a commercial ceramic glass cleaner like 'Vitroclen'. Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

How do I use the dual cooking zone on the front left?

The front left cooking zone can be used in two sizes. To activate the larger outer heating circuit, touch the dual zone control (marked with a circle inside a circle). The control lamp will illuminate. To switch off the outer circuit, touch the same control again.

Thebetterthepotorthepan, thebettertheboiling or frying result.

• Youcanrecognisegoodqualitypansbytheir base. The baseshouldbethickandasflataspossible.
• Roughbases(i.e.burrsandsharpedges)will scratchtheceramicglasssurface.

Cleaning and care

Attention! Cleaners must not get onto the hotceramic glass surface! After cleaning all residues of cleaners must be removed with sufficient clean water, as they may be caustic when being reheated.

Never use aggressive or abrasive agents, such as oven sprays, stain or rust removers, scouring powder, or sponges with an abrasive effect.

Suitable cleaning materials are: clean cloth or household paper, hot water with detergent, suitable commercial cleaners and cleaning scrapers. Cleaning scrapers and ceramic glass cleaners are available from the expert trade and in markets for building material.

Ceramic glass surface

• Clean the ceramic glass surface after every use when it is hand warm or cold. This will avoid spills becoming burnt on.
• Remove scale and water marks, fat spots and metallic shimmering discoloration with a commercial ceramic glass cleaner such as Vitroclen.

Light soilage

●Wipe the ceramic glass surface with a damp cloth, and a little washing up liquid.
- Then rub dry with a clean cloth. No residues of cleaner must be left on the surface.
- Once a week, thoroughly clean the entire ceramic glass surface with a commercial ceramic glass cleaner such as "Vitroclen". Always ensure that the hob is dry after cleaning.

The front right and rear cooking zones can still be operated during this time.

- Because the temperature is too high, the electronic control thermal cutoff has triggered an automatic reduction of the cooking setting.
