Frequently Asked Questions - A19-5 ECO FUJITSU

What should I do if there is no picture on the screen?
First, check that the power cable is connected and the ON/OFF switch is on. If the power indicator is lit, ensure the computer is on and the data cable is securely attached. If the indicator is not lit, verify the power connection. Also try pressing any key to wake from power-saving mode.
How do I adjust the brightness and contrast?
Use the OSD menu by pressing the SELECT/MENU button. Navigate to Brightness/Contrast using the arrow buttons, then select the function and adjust with the arrow keys. Alternatively, press the BACK button to directly adjust brightness when the OSD is not active.
What does the 'Frequency out of range' message mean?
This indicates that the input signal's horizontal frequency or refresh rate exceeds the monitor's technical limits (31-82 kHz / 56-76 Hz). Change the display mode on your computer to 1280x1024 at 60 Hz, as specified in the Technical data.
How can I reduce power consumption?
The monitor supports power management (DPMS). When the computer detects inactivity, it sends a signal to the monitor to enter power saving mode (< 1 W). Activate your computer's power-saving features and ensure the monitor's power management is enabled (default). The power indicator turns orange when in power saving mode.
How do I clean the monitor?
Switch off the monitor and unplug the power cable. Clean the display surface with a soft, slightly moistened cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or let any liquid enter the device. The casing can be cleaned with a dry cloth, or with a damp cloth using mild detergent.
What is the correct way to set up an ergonomic workstation?
Position the monitor about 50 cm from your eyes, with the top of the screen at or slightly below eye level. Avoid placing it opposite bright windows. Adjust the inclination between -5° and +20° for comfortable viewing. Keep the keyboard within easy reach and maintain a 90° angle at elbows and knees.
Can I mount the monitor on a wall or swivel arm?
Yes, the monitor is VESA FPMPMI compliant with 100 mm hole spacing. To mount, remove the monitor base by undoing the screws (follow instructions in the manual). Then attach the swivel arm or wall bracket according to its documentation.
What should I do if the picture is distorted or shaking?
Press the EXIT/AUTO button for about 1 second to perform auto-adjustment. This optimizes picture quality and position. If the issue persists, check the data cable connection or adjust the Phase and Clock settings in the OSD menu under Image adjust.
How many defective pixels are acceptable?
According to ISO 9241-3 Class II, up to 3 bright and 3 dark pixels, plus additional 6 bright or 13 dark subpixels (or an equivalent mix) are allowed. A pixel consists of 3 subpixels (red, green, blue). Isolated defects are normal for current TFT technology.
What does the 'No Signal' message mean and how do I fix it?
This means the monitor is not receiving a video signal from the computer. Check that the data cable is securely attached to both the monitor and computer, and that the computer is powered on. If your computer has multiple monitor ports, try the other active port (e.g., separate graphics card).

EnergyStar

ENERGY ENERGY STAR

The Fujitsu LCDcolourmonitorisequipped with a power management system which reduces the power draw in OFF mode to less than 1 W. As a result, the LCD monitors satisfy the requirements of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The EPA estimates that computerequipment uses approximately 5% of all business electricity and that this is growing rapidly. If all desktop PCs and peripherals were to enter alow-powermodewhen not in use, the overall electricity saving could amount to \$2 billion annually. Thesesavings could also prevent the emission of 20 million ton of carbondioxide into the atmosphere-equivalent to the discharge from 5 million cars.

As an Energy Star Partner, Fujitsu Technology Solutions GmbH has determined that this product meets the Energy Star guidelines for energy efficiency.

FUJITSU A19-5 ECO - Notesonergonomiccolouradju stment - 1

If you select colours forthemonitor in your application programmes, take note of the information below.

The primary colours blue and red on dark background donot produce the minimum required contrast of 3:1 and are therefore not suitable for continuous text and data entry.

When using several colours for characters and background and giving the primary colours full modulation, you can obtain very suitable colour combinations (seethefollowingtable):

BackgroundCharacters
blackwhitepurplebluecyangreenyellowred
black++-+++-
white+++---+
purple++-----
blue-+-+-+-
cyan+--+---
green+--+---
yellow+-++--+
red-+----+

Examples:

A 43/48 m (17"/19") flat-screen monitor with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 has 1280 x 1024 = 1310720pixels. Each pixel consists of three subpixels (red, green and blue), so there are almost 3.9 millions subpixels total. According to ISO9241-3 (Class II), a maximum of 3 bright and 3 dark pixels plus an additional 6 brightor 13 dark subpixels or an equivalent mix (1 bright subpixel counts as 2 dark subpixels) are allowed to be defective.
