Frequently Asked Questions - GR480GS SKS

How to install the backsplash on the SKS GR480GS cooker?
To install the backsplash, first disconnect the power supply and shut off the gas. Remove the burner grates, then the screws of the vent trim and the back panel. Lift the trim. Level the cooker using the adjustable rear feet. Place the backsplash at the rear and secure it with the removed screws (replacement screws are provided). Reinstall the burner grates, then reconnect the power and turn on the gas.
What are the required clearances around the cooker?
The instructions indicate a clearance of at least 1/8 in (3 mm) to the rear and side walls below the cooking surface. In the presence of an adjusted island trim, allow at least 6 in (152 mm) to combustible surfaces. The adjacent wall must be equipped with a backsplash.
What to do if the cooker is not level?
Use the rear foot extension rods to adjust the height and level the cooker. This must be done before installing the backsplash.
Do you need to shut off the gas before installation?
Yes, absolutely. Before any intervention, disconnect the power cord and shut off the gas supply by closing the shut-off valve. Never work on an appliance that is live or with gas.
How to clean the SKS GR480GS cooker?
Use a soft cloth to clean the surfaces. Do not disassemble the appliance when it is hot. Avoid abrasive products. Consult the installation guide for more details.
Where to find replacement screws for the backsplash?
The installation kit includes replacement screws for the front and back. If lost, you can order replacement screws from the manufacturer SKS or use standard screws of the same dimensions.
Can I use the cooker without the backsplash?
It is not recommended to use the cooker without the backsplash as it provides protection against combustible materials. The minimum clearances (1/8 in) are calculated with the backsplash. Consult the safety instructions.
What does 'vent trim' mean?
The vent trim is a part located at the rear of the cooker that allows air circulation. It must be removed to install the backsplash, then re-installed after securing.
Is the appliance easy to repair?
The instructions do not provide a repair guide. For any technical intervention, call a qualified professional. Spare parts such as screws are available, but for internal components, contact SKS customer service.
How to adjust the cooker burners?
The instructions do not cover burner adjustment. In general, gas burners are adjusted with shut-off valves or regulation screws. Consult a professional if the flame is irregular.
