GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Do not leave the device unattended when it is connected to a power supply.

It is forbidden to repair, disassemble or modify the device on one's own. All repairs must be carried out by an authorised service centre.

The product is not intended for use by children under at least 8 years of age and by persons with reduced physical and mental abilities and by persons without experience in or understanding of the operation of the product, unless they will be supervised or instructed to use the product safely, in a manner ensuring that the risks involved are understood. Children should not play with the product. Children left unattended should not be allowed to perform the cleaning and maintenance of the equipment.

Recommendations for connecting the device to the power supply

Before connecting the device to the power supply, make sure that the voltage, frequency, and performance of the supply network correspond to the values shown on the device's rating plate. The plug must fit into the socket. It is forbidden to modify the plug or socket in any manner to make them fit.

EN

The device must be connected directly to a single supply network socket. The supply network circuit should be equipped with a protective conductor and a protective device of 16 A. When using extension cords, use an extension cord with three wires that can withstand a 16 A current load.

Avoid contact of the power cord with sharp edges, hot objects or surfaces. During operation, the power cord must always be fully extended and the position of the power cord must be set so that it does not become an obstacle during product operation. The power cord should not be placed in a manner that would pose a risk of tripping. The power supply socket should be located in a place where it is always possible to quickly remove the product power cord plug. Always pull the power cord by the plug housing when unplugging it, never by the cord. If the power cord or the plug is damaged, immediately disconnect it from the supply network and contact an authorised service centre of the manufacturer for replacement. Do not use the product with a damaged power cord or plug. The power cord or plug cannot be repaired and must be replaced with a new one that is free of defects if these components are damaged.

Instructions for use

Do not use the fan in flammable and potentially explosive atmospheres, e.g., near drying flammable paint, fuel or solvent vapours. Sparks inside the product may cause vapour ignition which could lead to fire risk, explosion hazard and cause serious injury.

Do not leave the device connected to the power supply unattended.

The device is intended for indoor use only.

Do not clean the device using a jet of water or any other liquid. Do not immerse the device in water or any other liquid. Do not allow water or any other liquid to enter the fan.

Do not cover the device while it is operating. This can cause the device to overheat and damage, as well as cause fire.

Do not use the device in places with high dust levels. Do not allow dust to be sucked in by the fan. Dust may cause faster fan wear or even its damage. It may also cause an electrical short circuit which may cause fire and serious injury.

Place the fan on a level, flat surface that will not cause the risk of the fan falling during operation. Provide free space at the back of the fan — a place where the air is drawn in. There should be at least 15 cm of free space around the rear fan cover.

DEVICE OPERATION

Preparing for operation

Only the following 18V Li-Ion YATO batteries can be used to power the tool: YT-82842, YT-82843, YT-82844, YT-828461, YT-828462, YT-828463, YT-828464, YT-828465 and YT-82845, which can only be charged with YATO YT-82848, YT-828498, YT-828499, YT-828500, YT-828501, YT-828502, YT-828503, YT-828504 or YT-82849 chargers. It is forbidden to use other batteries with a different rated voltage and not matching the tool battery socket. It is forbidden to modify the socket or battery to make them match.

Warning! If the device is to be powered by the battery, it is required to disconnect the power supply plug from the device.

Slide the charged battery into the guides of the battery socket so that the battery latch holds it in place (II). Check whether the battery does not slide out of the tool socket by itself.

The power unit included with the device can be used instead of the battery. Remove the rubber stopper of the power supply socket in the device's housing and then connect the power unit cord plug to the socket. Then connect the power unit to the electric outlet. Caution! Do not tear off the socket stopper. It should cover the socket when it is not used. The stopper prevents the socket con-

EN

tamination, which could lead to an electrical short circuit.

Warning! If the device is to be powered by the power unit, it is required to disconnect the battery. The power supply will not cause the battery to charge.

Fan operation

Press the power switch to turn on the fan. The fan needs some time to achieve its full rotational speed. The fan operation can be stopped by pressing the power switch again. The fan needs some time to stop completely.

Use rotational speed selection buttons to change the speed to lower or higher. The selected rotational speed is indicated by lit status light next to the symbol of one of the speeds.

The fan guard inclination is adjustable. To change it, loosen two lock knobs by unscrewing them slightly (III). Put the fan guard in a selected position, then lock it by screwing both knobs.

Warning! For safety reasons, the inclination should be adjusted with the disconnected power supply. The battery and the power unit plug must be disconnected from the device.

The base includes a hook (IV), which can be used to suspend the device. Make sure that the suspended fan will not fall itself. The suspension point must withstand the load of the fan together with the battery. In the case of the mains power supply, make sure that the power cord is not too stressed and does not pose a risk of tripping.

Warning! It is forbidden to suspend the fan in any other manner except using the hook.

MAINTENANCE AND OVERHAUL

CAUTION! Remove the battery from the machine's socket before performing adjustment, technical service or maintenance activities. Having finished working, check the power tool for damage by visually inspecting the exterior and the body and the handle, the functioning of the electric switch, the vents for clogging, the motor brushes for sparking, the noise level of the bearings and the drive transmission, and how the power tool starts and runs. During the warranty period, the user is not allowed to disassemble the tool or replace any components or parts, as this will void the warranty rights. Any irregularities found during overhaul or the operation signal the need for repair at a service centre. For this purpose, contact the manufacturer. Having finished your work, clean the housing, the vents, all switches, all handles and guards with compressed air (at 0.3 MPa maximum), a brush or a dry cloth. Do not use any chemicals or cleaners. Do not use sharp tools for cleaning. Remove the circular saw and clean the inside of the guards, the fixing of the circular saw, as well as the saw itself from dust and other impurities generated during operation. Clean handles, knobs and other adjusting parts with a dry, clean cloth.
