Black and white photo of a glass coffee maker with handle and lid (no visible text or symbols)- Your Art-5009 coffee machine comes equipped with a standard insulated jug. You can however also use our ART-0734 glass jug.
- The jugs can be interchanged as desired, but you should switch the warming mode on for the glass jug and switch it off when using the insulated jug.
- Replacement jugs can be purchased at your local dealer or simply from our Online Shop.
Start-up
- First plug the power plug into the socket.
- Fill the water tank with the desired amount of fresh, cold water.

CAUTION: Risk of scalding due to bubbling! Never fill the water tank with more than 8 cups of water when using the insulated jug. When using a glass jug, you can fill it with up to 10 cups.
- Place the jug on the hot plate under the swivelling filter and swivel the filter forward.
- Insert a size 1x4 paper filter.
- Fill with your selected quantity of coffee and close the swivel filter.
- Press the On/Off button.
• This turns on the indicator light. - The coffee is ready when the water has completely passed through.
- Always switch the ON/OFF button to the OFF position when the „Keep Warm“ time is over (Cloer-5011 / Cloer-5019).
- The 40-minute heating period starts when the machine is used with a glass jug. You can choose to stop this manually by pressing the on/off button.
Note tablecloth
Since the heating element is located below the insulated jug, the underside of the jug is still hot after the coffee has been made. Please use a coaster and avoid injury from burns.
Select between insulated jug and glass jug modes Cloer-5009:
- Press and hold the on/off button for 3 seconds to toggle between the two modes. The red indicator light in the button will then show the mode selected:
- 3 short blinks: Insulating can mode, without heating
• 3 prolonged blinks: Glass jug mode, with a 40-minute heating period
- Press the button for 3 seconds if you cannot remember which mode you last set. The speed of blinking will indicate the current mode.
Maximum capacity 8 and 10 cups
- The glass jug is designed to hold a maximum of 10 cups and the insulated jug can hold 8 cups. Filling the water tank with 10 cups while using the insulated jug will cause the jug to overflow. This is why you will find the following information on the water tank:
- „MAX Thermo carafe“ to designate the maximum insulated jug capacity (Cloer-5009).
- „MAX Glass carafe“ to designate the maximum glass jug capacity.
- If you use the glass or insulated jug for filling, you do not have to follow any of these instructions given on the water tank. This prevents overfilling.
Cleaning and care
• Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- Never immerse the device in water or other liquids!
- Clean the filter basket and jug in warm soapy water, rinse both thoroughly and allow to dry.
- Wipe the device with a moist cloth.
- The swivel filter can be removed for cleaning. To do this, open it and lift the swivel filter up. Pull the swivel filter out from the bottom axis of the unit. After cleaning, the swivel filter must be refitted following the reverse procedure. First insert it in the axis at the top, inline with the pin, and then press it in at the bottom.
- If the filter is clogged with ground coffee, clean it with a soft brush.
- Do not use metal scouring pads, strong detergents or scouring agents.
- Under no circumstances should you attempt to clean the filter coffee machine or any if its accessories in the dishwasher!
Decalcification
If the water used is calcium-rich, the coffee machine should be descaled at regular intervals (approx. every 3-4 weeks, depending on the hardness of the water). A regular decalcification will assure constant quality, low electrical consumption and a longer life of the appliance. Use for this a normal liquid descaler and read the security safety.
When descaling with vinegar, please note:
- Add approx. 6 cups of water and approx. 150 ml vinegar to the coffee machine and switch the machine on.
• After descaling, run the machine 2x with 6 cups of fresh water to rinse it.
Note
The lime quantity in every region is different. You can ask your water company to know the hardness of water in your region.
Descaling should be carried out more often when using hard water and less frequently with softer water.
- Our warranty does not cover incorrect operation due to the decalcification!
