Before You Begin

□ Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
□ Shut off the main water supply.
☐ Kohler Co. reserves the right to make revisions in the design of products without notice, as specified in the Price Book.

Shower Outlet 1/2" (1.3 cm) Adapter Support Framing Spout Location 1/2" Piping Bath Ell Temporary Nipple

1. Prepare the Site

NOTE: Use thread sealant on all threaded connections.

□ Determine the installation location of the spout and install the support framing as required.
☐ Install a bath elbow and adapter (if used) on 1/2" copper tubing or a 1/2" pipe of proper length and connect to the bath outlet of the valve.
☐ Install a temporary 1/2" nipple to the bath elbow to extend at least 2" (5.1 cm) beyond the finished wall.
□ Securely fasten the bath members to the framing.
☐ Turn on the water and check for leaks. Repair as required.

2. Install the Spout

□ Remove the temporary nipple.
□ Apply thread sealant and install a 1/2" nipple so it extends 1/2" (1.3 cm) beyond the finished wall.
□ Apply a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant around the inlet end of the spout according to the manufacturer's instructions.
□ Carefully tighten with a clean strap wrench.
