- Packing materials are not children's toys. Children should not be allowed to play with the plastic bags: there is a danger of suffocation.

DANGER to and from pets and livestock!
Electrical devices can represent a danger to pets and livestock. In addition, animals can also cause damage to the device. For this reason you should keep animals away from electrical devices at all times.

DANGER! Risk of electric shock due to moisture!
- Protect the device from moisture, water drops and water splashes: failure to observe this instruction may result in an electric shock hazard.
- Fill the water tank at most up to the 10 MAX marking.
- If liquids get into the device, remove the mains plug immediately. Only then is it safe to remove the device. Have the device checked before reusing.

DANGER! Risk of electric shock!
- Do not use the device if the device or the power cable has any visible damage, or if the device has previously been dropped.
- Only connect the mains plug to a properly installed and easily accessible wall socket with earthing contact whose voltage corresponds to the specifications on the rating plate. The wall socket must still be easily accessible after the device is plugged in.
-
Ensure that the power cable cannot be damaged by sharp edges or hot spots. Do not wrap the power cable around the device.
-
The device is not fully disconnected from the power supply, even after it is switched off. In order to fully disconnect it, pull out the mains plug.
- When using the device, ensure that the power cable cannot be trapped or crushed.
- When removing the mains plug from the wall socket, always pull on the plug and never the cable.
- Pull the mains plug out of the wall socket:
- when a malfunction occurs
- when you are not using the coffee machine
- prior to cleaning the coffee machine
- during thunderstorms

- During the brewing process, hot steam escapes upwards through the cover. The cover becomes hot. Never touch it or put your hands or other body parts in the steam.
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
The device is fitted with non-slip plastic feet. As furniture is coated with a variety of different varnishes and acrylics, and treated with different cleaning agents, it cannot be completely ruled out that components are contained in some of these substances that could damage and soften the plastic feet. If necessary, place a non-slip mat under the device.
- Never put fluids other than fresh drinking water into the coffee machine!
- Place the device on a stable, level surface.
- Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents.
4. Items supplied
1 coffee machine
1 pot 9
1 filter holder 12
1 permanent filter 14
1 coffee spoon 8
1 copy of the operating instructions (online)
1 copy of the short manual (included)
5. Before using for the first time
- Remove all packing material.
- Check to ensure that all parts are present and undamaged.
- Clean the device prior to its first use! (see "Cleaning" on page 19)
6. How to use

DANGER! Risk of electric shock!
- Only connect the device to an easily accessible wall socket with earthing contacts whose voltage corresponds to the specifications on the rating plate. The wall socket must still be easily accessible after connection.
- Place the device on a dry, level, non-slip surface.
- Fill the water tank 4 of the coffee machine up to the 8 marking with fresh, cold tap water, and then start the brewing process by pressing the button ⏻6.
- Pour away the water and repeat this process once.
- Wait until the coffee machine has cooled down. Then it is safe to use the device again.
7. Operation

DANGER! Risk of injury through scalding!
- During the brewing process, hot steam escapes upwards through the cover 2. The cover becomes hot. Never touch it or put your hands or other body parts in the steam.
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
- Only fill the coffee machine up to the maximum filling level (10 MAX).
- Fill in water at least up to the 4 marking on the water level indicator 3. Otherwise the device may overheat.
- Never put fluids other than fresh drinking water into the coffee machine.
7.1 Drip stopper
The filter holder 12 has an anti-drip valve 11. This ensures that no coffee drips out of the filter when you remove the pot 9.
In order to ensure that the anti-drip valve 11 opens during the brewing process, it is important that the filter holder 12 is inserted correctly and the pot 9 with its lid 10 closed is positioned completely in the coffee machine.
7.2 Filling volumes
Always fill the water tank 4 at least up to the marking for 4 cups (4). The maximum filling level reaches the 10 MAX marking (for approx. 10 cups).
7.3 Brewing coffee
- Fill fresh, cold tap water into the pot 9. (Hot or carbonated water can result in malfunctions.)
-
Open the coffee machine cover 2 using the handle 1.
-
Now fill the water into the water tank 4 up to the desired number of cups (max 10, for approx. 10 cups).
- Pour away any excess water.
- Hold the filter holder 12 by its handle 13 and lower it into the coffee machine.
- Fold the handle 13 of the filter holder 12 so that it is flush with its edge.
- Place the permanent filter 14 into the filter holder 12.
- Fold down the handle 15 of the permanent filter 14.
- Place coffee powder into the permanent filter 14. Use ground coffee powder for filter coffee. If you grind the coffee yourself, grind it to a medium degree of grinding.
NOTE: you can also use a paper filter. In this case, the permanent filter 14 must not be inserted, however. Place a paper filter (size 1x4) with folded sides directly into the filter holder 12. When it is folded, the paper filter fits better in the filter holder 12 and the seams are prevented from tearing.
- Close the cover 2.
- It is important that the pot 9 has a closed lid 10 when it is placed on the hot plate 7.
- Press the button ⏻ 6. It lights up. The brewing process will start after a short time.
- After the brewing process is complete, the hot plate 7 remains active for approx. 40 minutes and the button ⏻6 is lit. The hot plate 7 then switches itself off and the button ⏻6 goes out.
NOTE: by pressing the button ⏻ 6, you can cancel the brewing process and switch off the hot plate 7 sooner at any time.
8. Cleaning

DANGER! Risk of electric shock!
- Pull out the mains plug 5 from the wall socket before cleaning the coffee machine.
- The coffee machine and the power cable with mains plug 5 must not be immersed in water or other liquids.

- Only for paper filters: dispose of the used paper filter.
- Rinse out the filter holder 12 with warm water.
-
Rinse the pot 9 and its lid 10 with clear water. Only in the case of stubborn residues should you use a little mild detergent and a soft washing-up brush. Then rinse all parts thoroughly with clear water.
-
Wipe down the coffee machine and the power cable 5 with a damp cloth when required. Dry with a dry cloth.
- Allow all parts to dry completely before you put them away or use the device again.
Dishwasher
The following parts are dishwasher-safe:
- Permanent filter 14
- F i l t e r h o l d
- Coffee spoon 8
8.2 Descaling
Time intervals for descaling
The intervals for descaling are dependent on the hardness of the water, and how often you use the device. Where the hardness of the water is medium or high, we recommend descaling monthly.
If using tap water, you can find out the hardness of the water in the area where you live by inquiring at your local waterworks.
After some time, the boiling process will result in limescale being deposited in parts of the coffee machine (depending on the hardness of the water used). You should remove this at regular intervals, because otherwise the power consumption of the device will increase.
- Switch off the coffee machine and allow it to cool down completely.
-
Pour the descaling agent into the water tank 4. Use a liquid, environmentally friendly descaling agent based on citric acid, and follow the instructions of the manufacturer.
-
Fill the water tank 4 to the 8 cup marking.
-
Close the cover 2 of the water tank 4.
-
It is very important that the pot 9 has a closed lid 10 when it is placed on the hot plate 7.
-
Press the button ⏻ 6. It lights up. The brewing process will start after a short time.
- Allow about half of the descaling solution to pass through and switch the device off again by pressing the button ⏻ 6. The button goes out.
- Leave the descaling agent to work for approx. 30 minutes.
- Switch on the coffee machine by press- e ring the button ⏻ 6. It lights up. Allow the rest of the descaling solution to run through.
- At the end of the brewing process, switch the coffee machine off by pressing the button ⏻ 6. The button goes out.
- Empty the pot 9 and rinse it with water.
- Fill the water tank 4 with clear water up to the 8 cup marking a further two times and start the brewing process.
9. Storage

DANGER for children!
- Keep the device out of the reach of children.
- Clean the permanent filter 14 and rinse out the filter holder 12 and the pot 9.
- Leave the cleaned coffee machine and the cleaned accessories to dry before you assemble them and put them away.
