GENERAL INFORMATION

This skateboard is based on the classic Penny Cruiser. The deck is made of a plastic mixture reinforced with glass fibre. This ideal mixture is soft and flexible on the one hand and on the other hand comfort- able on the foot and easy to control. On the other hand the deck is also very resistant and durable. The ball bearings comply with the ABEC9 standard and efficiently convert your kinetic energy into speed.

Do not make any modifications to the skateboard which would affect its safety and may cause serious injury or death. Do always check wheels, trucks, nuts, bearings and the self-locking fixings before and after each use, it may lose their effectiveness.

In the box you will find a tool kit and a replacement set of LED wheels. You can change the roller with the tool if you prefer the LED rollers. Please note that the ball bearings must be replaced.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING – Skateboarding can be dangerous.

  • No changes may be made to the skateboard that could in any way compromise safety!
  • Always check over your skateboard prior to riding, and make sure that all bolts, screws, and other elements are tightened properly, also check the wheels for wear and tightness and make sure that the steering column is securely held in the proper position.
  • Check the skateboard for wear! Improper handling can lead to damage to the product or injuries. Before each ride, check the materials for cracks or other wear.
  • Use the following protective equipment when using the skateboard: Hand/wrist protection, knee protection, head protection and elbow protection! Ensure that the clothing is of sufficient size and fits correctly! Parents or guardians are responsible for carrying and putting on children.
  • Wear long clothing and sturdy shoes.
  • If you are not yet practiced in the use of skateboards, only ride under the supervision of experienced persons.
  • Children under 8 years of age should always be supervised when using the skateboard. Otherwise, children must be instructed by trained persons. Skateboarding should be learned slowly and gradually. In the case of a child, parents or guardians must accompany this process. Parents or guardians have to assess and evaluate when a child is able to use the skateboard independently. Don't leave this decision to the child alone, as he or she tends to overestimate himself/herself and is unable to assess dangers correctly.

  • Only ride on surfaces that are smooth, clean, dry and as free as possible from other road users. Wet and uneven surfaces should be avoided.

  • When skateboarding, safety always takes priority over speed! Do not ride faster than you can run.
  • The skateboard is not suitable as a means of transport and should not be used on public roads. Use on roads and cycle paths is prohibited in most countries. Check and observe the laws and regulations that apply in your country.
  • Riding a skateboard can cause serious injuries - often bone fractures due to clumsy falls. It is therefore advisable to practise falling.
  • Before jumping off the skateboard, check where it can roll to: it could injure others.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DRIVING

Position on the board

For the position the feet on the board are the most important. At the beginning, place one foot on the board in the direction of travel at the level of the front wheels and put weight on this foot. As soon as you are standing securely on the front foot, place the second foot diagonally at the height of the rear axle. Keep the weight on the front foot, so that the main load is on this foot. If you want to get off the board, go out to the front and put the back leg of the skateboard on the ground first.

The beginning

First move on the board so that you feel a secure hold. Try to use your weight to steer the board left and right. The movement comes from the legs, the upper body remains upright. In order to gain speed, push off with your back foot and as soon as you are fast enough, put it back on the same level as the rear axle.

Come to a halt again

Do not give too much speed at the beginning, but try braking at very slow speeds. You can just take the rear foot and instead of accelerating and pushing off you can use the movement to slow down.

Taking curves

You can steer the skateboard by shifting your weight as already written. You can adjust the ease of steering by using the king pin screw under the front of the board. Be careful not to overtighten the king pin lock nut. To make the curves steeper you have to bend deeper and shift the weight further.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE

  • Your skateboard requires routine inspection and maintenance. Routinely check the body of the skateboard and tyres for damage or excessive wear before and after use. When noticing cracks and any sharp edges created, do not ride the skateboard, and replace the deck by a new one.
  • Clean the product only with a cloth or damp cloth and do not use any special cleaning agent!
  • Replace rollers and bearings as soon as you notice wear. To change the wheels, loosen the axle nuts, remove the wheel and press the bearings off the wheels with a suitable tool. To fit the bearings, insert them into the new rollers and put them back on the axle.
  • Clean the bearings regularly using a soft, moist cloth and grease them periodically.
  • The variable steering control screw can be adjusted to increase or decrease the front steering tension according to the weight of the user. Use a socket wrench to do this properly.
