WARNING: Carefully read the warnings contained in the following booklet as they provide important information regarding safety of installation, use and maintenance. Important instructions to keep for further reference.

• The appliance may be used by children aged 8 or over and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or without experience or the necessary knowledge, provided that they are being supervised or after they have received instructions relating to safe use of the appliance and with an understanding of the related hazards.
  • Children must not play with the appliance.
• Cleaning and maintenance intended to be carried out by the user must not be performed by children without supervision.
• Keep iron and power cord out of reach of children under 8 years of age when connected to power or when cooling down.
• If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or by its technical assistance service or in any case by a person with a similar qualification, in order to prevent any risk.

CAUTION: surfaces are subject to becoming hot during use.

• The iron must not be left unattended when connected to the power supply.
• The plug of the power cord must be disconnected from the power outlet before the tank is filled with water.
• The tank cover must not be opened during use.
• The iron must be used, left to rest and stored on a flat and stable surface.
• When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand rests is stable.
• The iron must not be used if it has fallen, if it is visibly damaged or if it leaks.
• Do not leave the appliance in contact with or in the vicinity of flammable or non-heat resistant materials.

• The appliance was built and designed to work in domestic environments and must be used in accordance with this instruction booklet; any other use is considered improper and therefore dangerous.
• This appliance is not intended for professional use.
• This appliance is intended to be used at a maximum altitude of 2000m above sea level.
• The electrical safety of this appliance is only ensured when it is connected to an effective earth system.

Do not leave parts of the packaging within the reach of children to avoid the danger of suffocation.

Keep the warranty, the receipt and the instruction booklet for any further consultation.

After removing the packaging, ensure the integrity of the appliance and in case of visible damage, do not use it and contact the seller or customer service.

Before connecting the appliance, make sure that the voltage in the socket corresponds to the details indicated on the plate.

If the plug and socket are not compatible, have the socket replaced with a suitable type by professionally qualified personnel.

Do not use adapters or extensions that do not comply with the current safety regulations or that are not suitable for the power (W) of the appliance.

Disconnect the appliance from the power supply when not in use and make sure it is switched off. Do not pull on the power cable or the appliance itself to take the plug out of the socket.

The use of any electrical appliance requires the observance of certain fundamental rules, in particular:

- do not touch the appliance with wet or damp hands;

- do not use the appliance with bare feet;

- do not leave the appliance exposed to atmospheric agents (rain, sun);

- do not leave the appliance exposed to moisture.

- do not subject it to shocks.

Do not use the appliance outdoors.

In the event of a fault or abnormal operation of the appliance, immediately disconnect the plug, do not tamper with it and contact the seller or customer service.

If you decide to no longer use this type of appliance, it is advisable to make it inoperative by cutting the power cable, obviously after having disconnected it from the socket.

For safety reasons, the appliance cannot be disassembled.

Do not insert objects through the openings of the appliance.

Do not use the appliance in the presence of flammable material (petrol, paints etc.).

Keep the cable away from heat sources.

WARNING: DO NOT USE THE PRODUCT NEAR CURTAINS OR OTHER COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS.

User instructions

FIRST USE

Before using the appliance, remove all packaging materials and any labels/advertising tags present on the product.

Remove the protective cover from the plate ⑧ and wipe it with a soft cloth.

Some parts of the steam iron have been slightly greased and as a result the iron may emit a little smoke when it is first used. After a short time this will cease.

There may be some water residue in the tank; this is normal, the appliances are subjected to quality checks.

FILLING THE WATER TANK

NOTE: the appliance is equipped with a special resin filter inside the tank that softens the water and prevents the formation of limescale in the plate. The resin filter is permanent and does not require replacement.

Use tap water only. Distilled and/or demineralised water renders the anti-limescale system ineffective by altering its physical and chemical properties.

In case of very hard tap water, use bottled natural mineral water of hardness not exceeding 8°f.

Do not use chemical additives, vinegar, scents or descalers. Failure to observe these instructions will result in forfeiture of warranty.

- Disconnect the iron before filling the water tank ⑨.

- Open the tank cover ②.

- Place the filling nozzle in a horizontal position and slowly pour water into the tank. Do not fill beyond the MAX mark on the tank, to avoid water overflow.

- Close the tank cover ②.

NOTE: The water tank must be emptied after each use.

APPLIANCE USAGE

- Always check the ironing instructions label attached to the item to be ironed. Always follow the instructions on the label.

- Turn the temperature adjustment knob ⑦ to set the appropriate temperature indicated in the ironing instructions or on the fabric label.

- Place the iron in an upright position.

- Insert the plug into a socket. The indicator lights 6 and will illuminate.

- When the indicator light ⑥ goes out, you can start ironing.

NOTE: during steam ironing, it is recommended to direct the first jet of steam onto a cloth. NOTE: If the temperature control knob ⑦ is set lower after ironing at a high temperature, do not iron until the indicator light ⑥ illuminates again.

If the fabric is composed of different types of fibres, select the temperature corresponding to the fibre that requires the lowest temperature setting.

Functions and Characteristics

Dry ironing

The steam iron can be used with the dry setting with or without water in the water tank; however, it is advisable to avoid having the water tank full during dry ironing.

Use this setting when this symbol is present on the garment label

• Turn the steam adjustment knob ③ to the minimum position.
• Turn the temperature adjustment knob ⑦ to the position most suitable for the fabric to be ironed.

CAUTION: do not come into contact with the ejected steam.

Steam shot

The steam jet function provides additional steam to remove stubborn creases.

• Turn the temperature control ⑦ to position ●●●
• Turn the steam adjustment knob ③ to the maximum position.
• Press the steam shot button ⑤ to release the steam jet.

NOTE: to avoid water leakage from the plate, do not press and hold the steam shot button ⑤ for more than 5 seconds. Wait 4-5 seconds between one steam shot and the next.

Vertical ironing

The iron can also be used in an upright position to iron hanging curtains and clothing.

• Turn the temperature control ⑦ to position ●●●
• Turn the steam adjustment knob ③ to the maximum position.
• Press and hold the steam shot button ⑤ to release the steam jet by moving the iron from top to bottom.

NOTE: to avoid water leakage from the plate, do not press and hold the steam shot button ⑤ for more than 5 seconds. Wait 4-5 seconds between one steam jet and the next.

NOTE: keep the plate at a distance of 10-30cm from the fabrics to be ironed.

It is advisable to lightly place plate ⑧ on cotton and linen only. For all delicate fabrics, keep the plate a few centimetres away.

CAUTION: do not iron clothing while it is being worn.

CAUTION: keep hands away from steam and hot surfaces.

Spray

When there is enough water in the tank, you can use the spray button ④ at any temperature, during steam or dry ironing.

Press the spray button ④ several times to activate the pump during ironing, the water spray will be emitted from the nozzle ①.

Anti-drip system

The anti-drip system automatically activates to prevent vaporisation when ironing at low temperatures, preventing drops of boiling water from leaving streaks or stains on fabrics.

Automatic switch-off

The automatic switch-off system is triggered after the iron has been left for approx. 8 minutes in an upright position or unused for approx. 30 seconds in a horizontal position. When the automatic switch-off is triggered, the appliance emits 6 short beeps and the power light flashes. Move the iron to reactivate the appliance. The power light remains on.

END OF IRONING

- Turn the temperature adjustment knob ⑦ to the minimum position;

• Disconnect the plug 13 from the mains socket.
• Open the tank cover ②.
• Empty the tank by turning the iron upside down. Lightly shake the iron to get all the water out.

NOTE: if you empty the water tank after the steam iron has cooled down, place the iron vertically, connect it and set the temperature control knob to the maximum position and heat for 2 minutes. Disconnect the steam iron from the power supply.

• Place the iron in an upright position and allow it to cool completely before storing it.
• Wrap the cable around its support base 12 and place the iron in an upright position.

Maintenance

Disconnect the plug from the power outlet and allow the appliance to cool completely before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operations.

Cleaning of the appliance must be carried out with a soft and slightly damp cloth.

Do not use overly wet substances, liquids or cloths, because any infiltration could damage the unit irreparably. Do not use abrasive products.

NEVER SOAK THE UNIT IN WATER.

Cleaning the limescale on the plate

Limescale on the plate can be removed with a cloth dampened with a solution of water and vinegar. After cleaning, dry the plate thoroughly with a soft cloth.

Automatic plate cleaning

• Half-fill the water tank ⑨.
• Turn the temperature adjustment knob ⑦ to the maximum position.
• Insert the plug into a socket.

• Allow the plate to warm up until the temperature indicator ⑥ turns off.

• Disconnect the plug 13 from the socket.

• Hold the iron horizontally over a sink and set the steam control knob ③ to the maximum position.
• Press and hold the automatic cleaning button 10; boiling water and steam will be expelled from the holes of the plate 8 along with any impurities. When no more water and steam comes out, release button 10

- Open the tank cover ②

- Empty the tank by turning the iron upside down. Lightly shake the iron to get all the water out.

- Glide the plate over a cloth to dry.

- Place the iron in an upright position and allow it to cool completely before storing it.

- Wrap the cable around the support base 12 and store the iron in an upright position.

Disposal

PACKAGING

To respect the environment, the packaging material must be disposed of correctly, respecting separate collection.

Check the provisions of your municipality.

USER INFORMATION

"Implementation of Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)”, pertaining to reduced use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, as well as to waste disposal.

The symbol of the crossed-out wheelie bin on the equipment or on its packaging indicates that the product must be disposed of separately from other waste at the end of its service life.

The user must therefore take the dismissed equipment to suitable separate collection centres for electrical and electronic waste.

For more details, please contact the appropriate local authority.

Suitable segregated collection of the equipment for subsequent recycling, treatment or environmentally-friendly disposal helps prevent damage to the environment and to human health, and encourages the re-use and/or recycling of the materials that make up the equipment.

Abusive disposal of the product by the user shall result in the application of administrative fines in accordance with the laws in force.

Limited Warranty

1. SCOPE OF APPLICATION

1.1. Poly Pool S.p.A., with registered office in Via Sottocorna, 21/B, 24020 PARRE (BG) provides this Limited Warranty under the terms and conditions set forth herein for Ardes-branded products (hereinafter "Products").

This Limited Warranty includes only the Products in their original configuration, including any accessory equipment.

This Limited Warranty is not effective and therefore does not apply to consumable parts of the product, such as, where present, batteries inserted into Products, bulbs, filters, etc.

2. CONSUMER RIGHTS

2.1 This Limited Warranty is not affected by the rights of the consumer that are provided for by the national legislative provisions transposing Directive (EU) 2019/771 and subsequent amendments on guarantees for consumer goods ("Legal Warranty").

The Limited Warranty does not replace, limit, impair or exclude the Legal Warranty, but is in addition to the latter. The consumer may, therefore, always assert the rights referred to in the Statutory Warranty against the seller, under the conditions and within the terms provided for by the aforementioned legislation.

3. PURPOSE OF THE WARRANTY

3.1 On the basis of this Limited Warranty, in the event that the lack of conformity of the Product due to manufacturing defects is ascertained and recognised, PolyPool S.p.A undertakes to repair or, at its discretion, replace the Products or components.

4. CASES OF EXCLUSION OF WARRANTY

4.1 This Limited Warranty does not apply in the event of breakages, malfunctions or otherwise defects caused by the following:

i) installation errors caused by negligence, imprudence, inexperience or carelessness;

ii) failure or incorrect compliance with the instructions and warnings contained in the manuals or on any additional instruction sheets;

iii) failure or incorrect maintenance of the products in the manner indicated by Poly Pool S.p.A.;

iv) poor storage of the Product;

v) tampering, modifications or interventions carried out by the End Customer or commissioned by the End Customer to third parties, and in any case not carried out by persons authorised by Poly Pool S.p.A;

vi) improper use and not in accordance with the normal use or intended use of the Product;

vii) aggravated damage caused by further use by the end customer once the possible malfunction or defect has already become apparent;

viii) any external factors both during installation and use of the Product not assignable or otherwise attributable to Poly Pool S.p.A;

ix) if the model, serial code or label on the product has been deliberately counterfeited or erased;

x) loss of performance and/or visual appearance or such that the essence of the features is not compromised.

4.2 This Limited Warranty does not include clear defects immediately recognisable on delivery of the Product, nor defects or malfunctions caused by deterioration due to normal wear and tear.

4.3 This Limited Warranty is void if breakages, malfunctions, defects or faults are caused by products, parts or components manufactured by third parties other than Poly Pool S.p.A. to which the product is connected or with which it is otherwise used.

5. WARRANTY CLAIM REQUEST

5.1 For any request for support, the Consumer can contact customer support at [e-mail] For Italy, San Marino and Vatican City only, you can directly contact your nearest Authorised Technical Support Centre. Contact details can be found on the SUPPORT page on the www.ardes.it website.

5.2 In order to be able to activate this Limited Warranty, the End Customer must be in possession of a sales receipt and/or a purchase invoice for the product and/or delivery note and/or other document certifying delivery. PolyPool S.p.A reserves the right to refuse to provide this Limited Warranty if the End Customer does not provide at least one of these documents.

6. DURATION

6.1 The duration of this warranty is 2 years (hereinafter, the "Warranty Period") from the date of purchase of the product (and, therefore, from the date shown on the tax receipt and/or on the invoice) or, at the latest, from the date of delivery (resulting from the delivery note or other delivery documentation).

6.2 In the event of replacement, the original Warranty Period will continue to apply and will therefore not be renewed or extended.

7. REGIONAL SCOPE

7.1 This warranty is valid only for warranty services to be rendered in the European Union, Vatican City or San Marino.
