CAREFULLY READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE AND KEEP THEM FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

This appliance is intended for household use only. This appliance is not intended for usage applications such as in kitchen areas for staff use in shops, offi ces or other professional environments, on farms, in hotels, motels or any other environment of a residential nature, including bed-and-breakfast type establishments.
- Do not use this appliance outdoors. The appliance must not be exposed to rain or moisture.
This appliance is for toasting bread only. Do not grill any other type of food.
- Packaging materials (wrapping paper, polystyrene) can be dangerous for children. They pose a suffocation risk! Do not leave packaging materials within the reach of children!
This appliance may be used by children aged 8 and over and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacity or a lack of experience or knowledge, provided they have received supervision or instructions concerning the safe use

of the appliance and understand the potential risks involved.

  • Children must not play with the appliance.
    Children must not clean or perform maintenance on the appliance unless they are over the age of 8 and are supervised.
    The appliance and its cable must be kept out of reach of children under the age of 8.
  • Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is plugged in.
    Before plugging in your appliance, make sure that the voltage of your home is suitable for that indicated on the appliance's rating plate.
  • To prevent electric shock, never immerse the power cable, plug or the toaster itself in water or any other liquid.
  • Do not handle the appliance or the power cable with wet hands.
    Always unplug your appliance after each use and before cleaning, storing or moving it.
  • When you unplug the cord, always pull it out at the plug. Do not pull on the cord itself.
  • When using the toaster, always unwind the power cord completely from its housing to prevent the appliance from overheating.

Always use the appliance on a dry surface.
- Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or worktop, and make sure it does not come into contact with hot surfaces.

WARNING! Accessible surfaces (particularly metal parts) can become very hot during operation. Risk of burns!
Only use the toaster with the crumb tray inserted.
- The crumb tray should be cleaned regularly to avoid any risk of fire. To clean the crumb tray, slide it out of its housing on the side of the appliance.
Only insert slices of bread that have no spread on them (i.e. without butter or jam, etc.) into the toaster. Similarly, be careful not to insert too large a slice of bread, which could interfere with the pop up process.
- Do not use abrasive cleaning products to clean the appliance.
This appliance is not intended to be operated via an external timer or separate remote control system.

WARNING! Never use a knife or any other object to remove slices of bread or other parts that may be jammed in the toaster, as contact with live parts can cause electric shock. Allow the appliance to cool down and unplug it before removing the bread.
- Please switch off and unplug the appliance before leaving it unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning it.

WARNING! Risk of burns: the toaster becomes very hot during operation. Do not touch the metal parts of the appliance while in use.

  • When you first use it, you may notice a slight odour and a little smoke. This is completely normal and will quickly disappear.
  • Never use the toaster without the crumb tray.
  • Press the "STOP" button and unplug the appliance immediately if smoke is emitted from inside the appliance.
  • Wait about 30 seconds between uses to allow the appliance to cool down.

Toasting bread

  1. Place the toaster on a flat, dry, stable surface.
  2. Plug the toaster into an earthed wall socket.
  3. Place the slice(s) of bread in the slot(s).
  4. Use the thermostat knob to select the desired degree of browning between 1 and 7:

1-2:lightly toasted
3-4-5: medium toasted
- 6-7: dark toasted

Note: The higher the degree of browning, the longer the toaster will run.
5. Lower the starter lever all the way until it locks into place. The toaster starts automatically.

NOTE: If the power cable is not plugged in, the start lever cannot be locked into place.

  1. The toaster switches off automatically and the toast pops up when the browning level is reached.
  2. When you have finished using the appliance, unplug it from the socket and wait until it has cooled down completely before storing it in a dry place.

If the toast gets jammed in the toaster, unplug the appliance from the socket, leave it to cool down and then remove the bread. Do not try to remove jammed bread with a metal utensil when the appliance is switched on. Take care not to damage the internal components of the mechanism or the heating elements when removing jammed bread.

Defrost function

The Defrost function allows you to defrost and toast bread.

  1. Follow steps 1 to 5 in the "Toasting bread" section above.
  2. To defrost and toast bread,press the 念 button.The Defrost programme's indicator light comes on.
  3. To cancel the programme or pause the defrosting process, press the STOP button.
  4. When the desired browning level is reached, the defrosted and toasted bread pops up and the toaster switches off automatically.

Reheat function

The Reheat function allows you to reheat food after it has been toasted and turned cold.

  1. Follow steps 1 to 3 in the "Toasting bread" section above. There is no need to adjust the thermostat.
  2. Lower the starter lever all the way until it locks into place, then press the button. The "Reheat" button indicator light comes on and the toaster starts automatically.
  3. To cancel programming or pause the reheating process, press STOP.
  4. At the end of the cycle, the toaster switches off automatically.

Cancel function

  • All the functions of your toaster can be cancelled at any time by pressing the STOP button. The toaster switches off automatically and the bread pops up.
  • Do not attempt to raise the start lever manually, as this could damage the mechanism and consequently your toaster.

Instructions for use

  • When using for the first time, we recommend selecting level 2. Then adjust the degree of browning according to the different types of bread and your personal taste.
  • Select a lower browning level (1 or 2) to obtain lightly browned slices of toast.
  • Dry bread toasts faster than fresh bread, and thin slices of bread toast faster than thick slices. Select a browning level to suit the type of bread you wish to toast.
    Wholemeal bread and bread with an uneven surface take longer to toast. Select a higher browning level (4, 5 or 6).
  • If you are only using one slice of bread in the toaster, select a lower browning setting to prevent it from being over toasted.
  • If the toaster is run continuously at a constant browning level, the bread will be more toasted at the end of use than at the beginning.
  • If, after use, the bread does not protrude from the appliance for easier gripping, you can raise the lever slightly to lift the contents of the toaster.

cleaning and care

WARNING! Unplug the toaster and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- Never immerse the toaster in water or any other liquid!
- Never touch the inside of the appliance with a metal object, as this could cause serious damage.

Cleaning the inner and outer surfaces of the appliance

Wipe the external surfaces of the appliance with a damp cloth, then dry with a soft cloth.
To clean the inner surfaces, turn the appliance upside down and shake it over a dustbin until all the stuck crumbs have fallen out.

Cleaning the crumb tray

To avoid any risk of fire, the crumb tray should be cleaned regularly. Do not allow bread crumbs to accumulate in the bottom of the toaster.

  1. Remove the crumb tray from its housing on the side of the appliance by grasping the tab.
  2. Dispase of the crumbs in a dustbin, then wipe the crumb tray with a slightly damp cloth, then dry it with a soft, dry cloth. Never put the crumb tray in the dishwasher!
  3. When the crumb tray is completely dry, slide it back into its housing before using the toaster again.

Storage

  • When you are not using the appliance, and after ensuring that it has cooled down after use, roll up the cord in the cord mount on the underside of the appliance.
  • Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.
