2. Intended purpose
The nail care system is provided for the filing, buffing and polishing of finger and toe nails. The device is exclusively suited for use on human nails. Animal nails are too hard and may damage the device. The device has been developed for private use and is unsuitable for commercial purposes.

3. Safety instructions
Warnings
If necessary, the following warnings will be used in these operating instructions:

DANGER! High risk: failure to observe this warning may result in injury to life and limb.
WARNING! Moderate risk: failure to observe this warning may result in injury or serious material damage.
CAUTION: low risk: failure to observe this warning may result in minor injury or material damage.
NOTE: circumstances and specifics that must be observed when handling the device.
Instructions for safe operation
- This device can be used by children from the age of 8 and people with restricted physical, sensory or intellectual abilities or people without adequate experience and/ or understanding, if they are supervised or instructed on how to use this device safely and if they are aware of the resulting danger.
Children must not play with the device. Cleaning and maintenance by the user must not be performed by children without supervision.










DANGER for children
Children must not play with packing material. Do not allow children to play with plastic bags. There is a risk of suffocation.
- Keep the device out of the reach of children.
Do not use the device on infants and small children. Their nails are too soft.

DANGER to and from pets and livestock
Electrical devices can represent a hazard to pets and livestock. In addition, animals can also cause damage to the device. For this reason you should keep animals away from electrical devices at all times.

DANGER from batteries
- Be sure to observe the correct polarity when inserting the batteries. Replace only with the same or an equivalent type.
- DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Batteries must not be charged or reactivated by other means, nor must they be dismantled, thrown into a fire or short-circuited.
- Always remove used batteries from the device immediately, since these may leak and therefore cause damage.
Do not subject batteries to extreme conditions, place them on radiators or expose them to direct sunlight. Otherwise, there is an increased danger of batteries leaking. - If battery acid has leaked, avoid contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. In case of contact with the acid, rinse the affected area at once with plenty of clean water and seek medical assistance immediately.
- Batteries must be properly disposed of after use.
WARNING! Risk of injury
Do not use the device more than twice weekly, so nails and the nail bed will not be damaged.
- Use of attachment 2: buff the nail surface at most every 2 weeks. Do not buff one nail for more than 15 seconds.

- Diabetics may only use the device in consultation with their physician.
Do not use the device if there is visible damage.
To avoid any risk, do not make modifications to the product. Repairs must be carried out by a specialist workshop or the Service Centre.
WARNING! Risk of material damage
- Use the original accessories only.
- Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Protect your device from shocks and prevent it from falling down.
- Protect the device against moisture. Except for the protective lid, no part may be cleaned under water.
- Only press lightly so the motor will not be overloaded.
- Only use the device for human nails. Other surfaces may damage the attachments.

5. How to use
5.1 Unpacking
- Remove all packing material.
- Check that the delivery is complete.
5.2 Power supply
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
- Be sure to observe the correct polarity when inserting the battery. Please observe the illustrations on the fold-out page.
- Make sure that the slide switch 3 is set to 0.
- Turn the bottom of the device 5 anticlockwise to the lock symbol open ☐ 6 and remove it from the device.
- If necessary, remove the old battery from the battery compartment.
- Insert one battery (Type LR6 AA, 1.5 V).
- Replace the bottom of the device 5 and turn it clockwise to the lock symbol closed ☐ 7.
6. Operation
WARNING! Risk of injury!
Do not use the device more than twice weekly, so nails and the nail bed will not be damaged.
6.1 Attachments
The device is delivered with 3 different attachments 8 :
- attachment 1 to file the nail edges,
- attachment 2 to smoothen the nail surfaces,
- attachment 3 to polish the nail surfaces.
NOTES:
- The attachments 8 can be used for fingernails as well as for toenails. If necessary, use separate attachments for hands and feet.
- For hygienic reasons, the attachments 8 should not be used jointly by several persons.
- Attachments 8 can be reordered. (See "How to order additional attachments" on page 13.)

Removal
- Ensure that the slide switch 3 is set to O.
- Pull the attachment 8 off the electric nail file 4.
Attachment
- Ensure that the slide switch 3 is set to 0.
- Push the desired attachment 1, 2, or 3 (8) onto the pin 2 of the electric nail file 4 until it engages audibly.

6.2 Switching on and off
• Use the slide switch 3 to switch the device on and off and select the desired speed setting:
- O = switched off
- 1 = low speed
- 2 = high speed
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
- Only press lightly so the motor will not be overloaded and to achieve a uniform result.
NOTE:
- Start with the low speed 1.
6.3 Prior to the nail care process
- Ensure that the nails are clean and dry. After a shower or a bath, nails are too soft to be worked on.
6.4 Filing the nail edges (Attachment 1)
- In order to file the nail edges, use attachment 1 (8).
- Move the file along the edges of the nails. Always work in one direction until the desired shape and length has been reached.
6.5 Smoothing the nail surfaces (Attachment 2)
WARNING risk of injury!
- Buff the nail surface at most every 2 weeks. Do not buff one nail for more than 15 seconds.
- For buffing minor irregularities on the nail surface, use attachment 2 (8).
- Move attachment 2 (8) over the nail surface in small circles without applying pressure.
- Afterwards, wipe the dust, which developed, off the nail using a damp cloth.

6.6 Polishing the nail surfaces (Attachment 3)
• After buffing, use attachment 3 (8) to polish the nail surfaces.
- Move attachment 3 (8) over the nail surface in small circles while applying gentle pressure. Thus, the nails are provided with a natural shine.
7. Cleaning and maintenance of the device
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
- Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Except for the protective lid 1, no part may be cleaned under water.

• After use, wipe off the electric nail file 4 and the attachments 8, using a lightly moistened cloth.
- Check regularly if the grinding surfaces of the attachments 8 are damaged or worn. Attachments can be reordered. (See "How to order additional attachments" on page 13.)
- The protective lid 1 can be cleaned under running water.

8. Storage

DANGER for children!
- Keep the device out of the reach of children.
- When the device is not being used, place the protective lid 1.
- Keep the device and the attachments 8 at a location where they are protected against dust, moisture and excessive heat.
- If you are not going to be using the device for a longer period of time, remove the battery.
9. Troubleshooting
If your device fails to function as required, please try this checklist first. Perhaps there is only a minor problem, and you can solve it yourself.

11. Disposal
This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2012/19/EC. The symbol showing a wheelie bin crossed through indicates that the product requires separate refuse collection in the European Union. This applies to the product and all accessories marked

with this symbol. Products identified with this symbol may not be discarded with normal household waste, but must be taken to a collection point for recycling electric and electronic appliances. Recycling helps to reduce the consumption of raw materials and protect the environment.

Batteries must not be discarded with your household waste. Spent batteries must be disposed of properly.
Special containers are available for this purpose in shops selling batteries and at municipal collection points.
(Rechargeable) batteries marked with the following letters contain harmful substances such as: Cd (cadmium), Hg (mercury), Pb (lead).

Packaging
When disposing of the packaging, make sure you comply with the environmental regulations applicable in your country.

13. Warranty of the HOYER Handel GmbH
Dear Customer,
your device is provided with a 3 year warranty starting with the purchase date. In the event of product defects, you are entitled to statutory rights against the vendor. These statutory rights are not restricted by our warranty presented in the following.
Warranty conditions
The warranty period starts with the purchase date. Please keep the original purchase receipt in a safe place. This document is required to verify the purchase.
If within three years from the purchase date of this product a material or factory defect occurs, the product will be repaired or replaced by us – at our discretion – free of charge to you. This warranty implies that within the period of three years the defective device and the purchase receipt are presented, including a brief written description of the defect and the time it occurred.
If the defect is covered by our warranty, the repaired or a new product will be returned to you. No new warranty period starts with a repair or replacement of the product.
Warranty period and statutory claims for defects
The warranty period is not extended when the warranty has been claimed. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. Any damages and defects already existing at the time of purchase must be reported immediately upon unpacking. Repairs arising after the expiration of the warranty period are subject to a charge.
Warranty coverage
The device was produced carefully according to strict quality guidelines and tested diligently prior to delivery.
The warranty applies to material or factory defects.

Excluded from the warranty are wear parts subject to normal wear and damages to fragile parts, e.g. switches, batteries, lamps or other parts manufactured from glass.
This warranty expires if the product is damaged, not used as intended or not serviced. For the proper operation of the product, all instructions listed in the operating instructions must be observed carefully. Any form of use and handling that is advised against in the operating instructions or warned against must always be avoided.
The product is only intended for private and not for commercial use. In the case of incorrect and improper treatment, use of force and interventions not performed by our authorised Service Centre, the warranty shall cease.

In order to ensure prompt processing of your matter, please observe the following notes:
- Please keep the article number IAN: 275910 and the purchase receipt as a purchase verification for all inquiries.
- The article number can be found on the rating plate, an engraving, the title page of your instructions (in the bottom left), or as a label on the rear or underside of the device.
- If faulty operation or other defects occur, first contact the Service Centre listed in the following by telephone or email.
- Then, you are able to send a product reported as defective free of charge to the service address specified to you, including the purchase receipt and the information on the defect and when it occurred.
