PRECAUCIONES IMPORTANTES DE SEGURIDAD
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- Read all instructions.
- To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug or base unit in water or other liquid.
- Close 'supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
Unplug before putting on or taking off parts, and allow to cool before cleaning. - Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the Service Center for examination, repair or adjustment. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot food, water, or other hot liquids.

Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
- Lift and open cover carefully to avoid scalding, and allow water to drip into Rice Cooker.
- Do not use steel, wood or any metallic scouring pad to clean the electrical pin terminals on the appliance. Metal slivers can reduce electrical spacings and cause a shock hazard.
- To reduce the risk of electrical shock, cook only in removable container. Do not pour liquid into outer pan.
- Never allow water or any liquid into the outer pot.
- Never plug in the power cord without the inner pot inside the cooker.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

- CAUTION: This appliance generates heat and escaping steam during use. Proper precautions must be taken to prevent the risk of burns, fire or other damage to persons or property.
- All users of this appliance must read and understand this Owner's Manual before operating or cleaning this appliance.
- The cord to this appliance should be plugged into a 220/230V AC electrical outlet only.
- Always attach plug to the Rice Cookér first, then plug into the wall outlet. To disconnect, move the Warm/ Cook lever to the Warm position (Mantener Caliente), then remove the plug from wall outlet.
- When using this appliance, provide adequate air space above and on all sides for air
circulation. Do not allow this appliance to touch curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dish towels or other flammable materials during use.
- Do not leave this appliance unattended during use.
- This appliance generates steam. Do not operate uncovered.
- If this appliance begins to malfunction during use immediately unplug the cord. Do not use or attempt to repair the malfunctioning appliance! Do not use the Inner Pot if cracked or chipped.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If an extension cord is necessary, it must be rated no less than the electrical rating of this appliances. Please take care to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over a counter or tabletop and become a potential hazard.
BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
I. Clean the detachable Inner Lid, Inner Pot, Rice Scoop and Measuring Cup following the User Maintenance Instructions
DO NOT IMMERSE THE HEATING BODY OF THE RICE COOKER IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID!
II. How to operate the cooker
-
Wash the rice and put it into the Cooker: Wash the rice in another container and put it into the cooker after washing. Generally, with one cup of rice, one & a half cups of water to be added. Do not wash rice directly in the aluminum cooker, so as to prevent the deformation of cooker bottom by collision, affecting the normal operation. As per Fig.1.

Place the aluminum cooker correctly in position: Make sure there is no foreign matters sticking to heating element and cooker bottom, then put the aluminum cooker into the outer shell.
At the same time, turn the aluminum cooker in clockwise and counter clockwise direction several times to ensure close contact between the inner pot bottom and heating element. As per Fig.2.

Rice cooking: Insert the plug in the cooker, plug in the electric outlet, press the 'rice cooking', then press 'heating', when the rice cooker indicating light turns on, the rice cooker is in the cooking process.

Function of heat preservation: After' rice cooking' indicating light turns off, the heat preservation indicating light turns on.

- Steaming or stewing food: When the food is steamed or stewed to the required time, please pull up this ' heating' button, stop heating.
RICE COOKING PROCEDURE:
For your convenience, the inner cooking part features water measurement lines inside. We have also provided a handy cup to measure rice and water.

Measure the desired amount of rice using the measuring cup supplied with the rice cooker. One cup of raw rice will produce approximately 2 cups of cooked rice.

Rinse the rice with warm water to remove excess bran and starch.
NOTE: Many rice suppliers suggest that you should not rinse the rice as a vitamin loss may occur.

Put rice into the cooking pot. To achieve evenly the cooked rice, raw rice should be levelled off in cooking pot.

Add correct amount of water by using either measuring cup or by adding water to the appropriate line in the pot. Never add water higher than the top water line.

Set the unit on a stable surface. Place cooking pot into the rice cooker. Make sure that the pot has direct contact with the heating plate by turning it slightly from right to left until the pot is properly positioned.

Close the lid and press down until the latch snaps shut. If lid is not closed properly, cooking efficiency might be affected.

Plug AC cord into wall outlet. Do not plug cord in until ready to cook. Any time this cooker is plugged in and the switch is not immediately set for cooking, the warming circuit is operating.

Press the switch. The rice cooking light will turn on indicating the rice is starting to cook.
-
When the cooking is finished, the switch button will pop up and a click will be heard. At the same time, the cook light will be off and the warm light will be on.
-
When cooking is under keep warm setting, keep the lid closed for about 10-15 minutes.
NOTE: This is an important process to cook fluffy and tasty rice.

To open the lid, slimly push the lid release button.
-
The keep warm cycle will continue to operate automatically until the A/C cord is removed from the wall outlet.

Keep left over rice in the refrigerator. To reheat, put rice and 1 /4 cup of water into inner pot. Place pot into the cooker, and press the switch.

NOTE: Please do not use a standard cup for measuring rice or water. Always use the Measuring Cup that come with your Rice Cooker. If the cup provided is lost or damaged, please contact our customer service representatives for replacement.
POINTS FOR ATTENTION

This product is a Class-1 electric appliance. In order to guarantee safety operation, it is required the AC mains to be earthed well. The power plug is a special plug, any alteration of the plug is not allowed.

Bottom and edge of the aluminum cooker and heating element cannot be hit by force, it should be kept clean.
The water drop or rice cannot remain on the surface of the inner pot bottom or heat element, which affects efficiency, may even burn out the parts. As per Fig.3.

- Do not wash the cooker shell or put it into the water tank.
The non-stick inner pot, can be wiped with soft cloth and never clean it with a slice knife.

Do not use the rice cooker to cook any acid food or alkaline food any time. Do not put the cooker in places with corrosive air or high moisture. When in operation, never put the cooker in or near the flammable places/ substances.
-
After placing the inner pot, the power plug can be inserted to outlet. Before taking out the aluminium cooker, the power plug should be pulled out. In this way, more safety can be achieved.
-
A cover-heating fuse is installed in this rice cooker. In case of any over heating, the fuse
will blow and the power will be automatically cut. Replace the fuse and the cooker can be used again.
-
Keep cooker away from direct sources of heat or sunlight to prevent possible damage. Do not expose to water or high humidity.
-
Do not cover or obstruct the steam vent. Do not touch hot steam from the steam vent while cooker in use.
-
Always keep the rice cooker unplugged when not in use.
-
The retractable electric cord needs to be pulled to its full extension prior to use. Stop pulling when a coloured banned comes into. To retract the cord into the appliance, pull the cord and release slowly.
-
To avoid damage to the cooker, do not use the cooking pot from any other brand or model of rice cooker (as this type of damage is not covered under the warranty).
-
Always keep the outside and bottom of the inner pot completely dry before placing into the cooker as a wet pot might cause a crack and damage the unit.
-
Make sure that there are no foreign objects in the cooker.
-
Never place the inner pot directly on gas or electric burners.
USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance should be cleaned after every use.
- Unplug the Automatic Rice Cooker from the outlet when not in use or before cleaning. Never immerse Heating Body in Water or any other liquid! Allow the Automatic Rice
Cooker to cool completely before cleaning.
Note: If the cooking part is still wet on the outside, a crack may occur as the cooker heats up and it might damage the cooker. Keep the cooking part extremely clean especially if the salt or salty ingredients have been used. Salt is very corrosive and will damage the non-stick coating.
The non-stick coating will discolor after a period of use. This is normal and will not effect your health or the use of the cooker.
- Gently remove the water collector (fitted onto the side of the rice cooker) by pulling downwards. Discard the water after each use. Clean and replace the collector.
- Clean other surfaces with a damp cloth.
- Make sure the heating plate is clean and free of food or other articles that could interfere with the proper functioning of the rice cooker. Residue could be removed by gently scrubbing the heating plate with a piece of wool, then wipe and dry the heating plate to ensure good contact with the cooking pan.
- Do not immerse the rice cooker in water or any liquid.
- NOTE: Never clean the cooker when it is still hot.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads or steel wool to clean the Automatic Rice Cooker.
- Heating Body: Lightly wipe the exterior with a damp cloth or sponge. DO NOT IMMERSE HEATING BODY INTO WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
- Inner Pot: Fill with hot water and leave for a while and then Wash in hot, soapy water with a sponge and dry thoroughly with a
cloth.
- Heating Plate, Thermostat: Grains of rice or other Foreign Matters may stick to the heating plate. These must be removed to prevent inadequate cooking. To remove cooked rice, smooth sand paper can be used. Smooth out and polish the spot for good contact between the heating plate and the bottom of the Inner Pot.
- There are no user serviceable parts inside this appliance. Do not attempt to repair this appliance yourself as you could render it dangerous to use. Return it to the Service Center for repairs.
