BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

I. Clean the detachable Inner Lid, Inner Pot, Rice Scoop and Measuring Cup following the User Maintenance Instructions

DO NOT IMMERSE THE HEATING BODY OF THE RICE COOKER IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID!

II. How to operate the cooker

  1. Wash the rice and put it into the cooker: Wash the rice in another container and put it into the cooker after washing. Generally, with one cup of rice, one and a half cups of water should be added. Do not wash rice directly in the aluminum cooker, so as to prevent the deformation of the cooker bottom by collision, affecting the normal operation. As per Fig.1.
  2. Place the aluminum cooker correctly in position: Make sure there is no foreign matter sticking to the heating element and cooker bottom, then put the aluminum cooker into the outer shell.

At the same time, turn the aluminum cooker in clockwise and counterclockwise directions several times to ensure close contact between the inner pot bottom and the heating element. As per Fig.2.

  1. Rice cooking: Insert the plug into the cooker, plug into the electric outlet, press the 'rice cooking' button, then press 'heating'. When the rice cooker indicating light turns on, the rice cooker is in the cooking process.
  2. Function of heat preservation: After the 'rice cooking' indicating light turns off, the heat preservation indicating light turns on.

RICE COOKING PROCEDURE:

For your convenience, the inner cooking part features water measurement lines inside. We have also provided a handy cup to measure rice and water.

  1. Measure the desired amount of rice using the measuring cup supplied with the rice cooker. One cup of raw rice will produce approximately 2 cups of cooked rice.
  2. Rinse the rice with warm water to remove excess bran and starch.

NOTE: Many rice suppliers suggest that you should not rinse the rice as a vitamin loss may occur.

  1. Put rice into the cooking pot. To achieve evenly cooked rice, raw rice should be levelled off in the cooking pot.
  2. Add the correct amount of water by using either the measuring cup or by adding water to the appropriate line in the pot. Never add water higher than the top water line.
  3. Set the unit on a stable surface. Place the cooking pot into the rice cooker. Make sure that the pot has direct contact with the heating plate by turning it slightly from right to left until the pot is properly positioned.
  4. Close the lid and press down until the latch snaps shut. If the lid is not closed properly, cooking efficiency might be affected.
  5. Plug the AC cord into a wall outlet. Do not plug the cord in until ready to cook. Any time this cooker is plugged in and the switch is not immediately set for cooking, the warming circuit is operating.
  6. Press the switch. The rice cooking light will turn on indicating the rice is starting to cook.
  7. When the cooking is finished, the switch button will pop up and a click will be heard. At the same time, the cook light will turn off and the warm light will turn on.
  8. When cooking is under the keep warm setting, keep the lid closed for about 10-15 minutes.

NOTE: This is an important process to cook fluffy and tasty rice.

  1. To open the lid, gently press the lid release button.
  2. The keep warm cycle will continue to operate automatically until the A/C cord is removed from the wall outlet.
  3. Keep leftover rice in the refrigerator. To reheat, put rice and 1/4 cup of water into the inner pot. Place the pot into the cooker, and press the switch.

  2. The bottom and edge of the aluminum cooker and the heating element must not be hit by force; they should be kept clean.

Sogo SS-10770 - POINTS FOR ATTENTION - 1

  1. Do not wash the cooker shell or immerse it in water.

The non-stick inner pot can be wiped with a soft cloth and should never be cleaned with a sharp knife.

  1. Do not use the rice cooker to cook any acidic or alkaline food at any time. Do not place the cooker in areas with corrosive air or high moisture. During operation, never place the cooker in or near flammable places or substances.
  2. After placing the inner pot, the power plug can be inserted into the outlet. Before taking out the aluminum cooker, the power plug should be pulled out. This ensures greater safety.
  3. A cover-heating fuse is installed in this rice cooker. In case of overheating, the fuse

will blow and the power will be automatically cut. Replace the fuse and the cooker can be used again.

  1. Keep the cooker away from direct sources of heat or sunlight to prevent possible damage. Do not expose it to water or high humidity.
  2. Do not cover or obstruct the steam vent. Do not touch hot steam from the steam vent while cooker is in use.

USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance should be cleaned after every use.

  1. Unplug the Automatic Rice Cooker from the outlet when not in use or before cleaning. Never immerse the Heating Body in water or any other liquid! Allow the Automatic Rice

Cooker to cool completely before cleaning.

Note: If the cooking part is still wet on the outside, a crack may occur as the cooker heats up and it might damage the cooker. Keep the cooking part extremely clean, especially if salt or salty ingredients have been used. Salt is very corrosive and will damage the non-stick coating.

The non-stick coating will discolor after a period of use. This is normal and will not affect your health or the use of the cooker.

  1. Gently remove the water collector (fitted onto the side of the rice cooker) by pulling downwards. Discard the water after each use. Clean and replace the collector.
  2. Clean other surfaces with a damp cloth.
  3. Make sure the heating plate is clean and free of food or other articles that could interfere with the proper functioning of the rice cooker. Residue could be removed by gently scrubbing the heating plate with a piece of wool, then wipe and dry the heating plate to ensure good contact with the cooking pan.
  4. Do not immerse the rice cooker in water or any liquid.
  5. NOTE: Never clean the cooker when it is still hot.

  8. Inner Pot: Fill with hot water and leave for a while, then wash in hot, soapy water with a sponge and dry thoroughly with a

cloth.

  1. Heating Plate, Thermostat: Grains of rice or other foreign matters may stick to the heating plate. These must be removed to prevent inadequate cooking. To remove cooked rice, smooth sandpaper can be used. Smooth out and polish the spot for good contact between the heating plate and the bottom of the Inner Pot.
