- The appliance is not designed for operation in industrial environments, large commercial areas, large public or community areas, basements, garages, garrets, pergolas, porches or other locations where it may be exposed to the elements
- The appliance is designed for indoor use; if used outdoors, compliance with the safety requirement is not guaranteed and the user's safety may be at risk
- The appliance must not be used by children unless they are provided with comprehensive information regarding its use and it is ascertained that said information has been properly understood
- The appliance must not be made available to children even after it has been decommissioned insofar as it contains certain parts that may cause injury if used improperly
- The appliance must not be used by persons with motor or cognitive impairments unless they are properly supervised
- Do not use the appliance in the presence of sources or accumulations of liquids: ensure a safe distance from containers, tanks, taps, piping, dehumidifiers, expansion or storage tanks, gutters, downpipes, filling and drain pipes, etc.
- The appliance must not be used if deformities, colour changes (even partial), openings in the housings, cracks, excessive heating, the emission of smoke, vapours, bad smells, intense or unusual noises are observed; in this case, discontinue use immediately and contact qualified technical personnel
- Before installation, check that the rated voltage indicated on the rating plate attached to the appliance corresponds to the mains voltage
- The appliance must not be installed near windows or openings where it may be exposed to the elements
- The appliance must be placed on a horizontal, flat and stable surface, sheltered against impact, accidental or otherwise, with moving parts of any kind
- The appliance must not be placed in the path of opening doors or windows, shutters, blinds, louvres, movable partitions or the like
-
Do not move the appliance while operating
-
Do not use the appliance after impact or a fall: have it checked by qualified technical personnel
- Do not cover the ventilation grilles in any way, but rather ensure they have access to an area with good air circulation
- Do not insert objects in the ventilation grilles and ensure this cannot accidentally occur for the entire period of operation
- Before cleaning, check that the appliance has been switched off for at least 15 minutes and that the power cord has been disconnected
- Use a damp cloth to clean the appliance and avoid any abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents; wait for the appliance to fully dry before operating it again
- Do not install or use the appliance under direct sunlight, in environments that are particularly humid and/or saturated with gas, vapours or other suspended substances, in the vicinity of open flames and/or flammable, combustible or explosive substances
- Do not use in the vicinity of burners, fireplaces, pellet stoves, gas kitchens and the like
- Ensure the appliance is connected to a compliant, state-of-the-art installation fitted with a residual current device and thermal magnetic circuit breaker
- Do not connect the appliance to devices that may cause it to start unsupervised, such as timers, remote controls or automatisms
- Once unpacked, do not leave the relative materials unsupervised, in particular the plastic bags, as these may be a source of danger for children or persons with motor and cognitive impairments
- There is no reason to disassemble the appliance, even after its decommissioning. At the end of its service life, it must be sent for recycling according to the legal requirements in force and described in detail in the next chapter
- Do not modify the appliance for any reason whatsoever: no improvements in performance can be gained by tampering with its parts. Any modifications shall invalidate the legal guarantee and compliance with the safety requirement, with foreseeable risks for the user
- Do not remove or tamper with the safety devices fitted to the product
- Do not disconnect the appliance from the mains by pulling on the cord; rather, firmly grasp and extract the plug with a quick and decisive movement
- Never submerge any part of the appliance in water or other liquids: do not spray any substances in the vicinity of the appliance or directly thereon, especially if operating
- Slight smoking or a burning smell during the initial moments of the first start-up is normal and does not constitute a defect: this emission should cease after a few minutes of operation
- During operation, the appliance emits considerably intense infrared radiation: avoid looking directly at the heating elements, even if doing so does not cause discomfort
- During operation, the surfaces of the appliance reach particularly high temperatures that may cause skin injuries; to prevent this, keep a safe distance from the appliance while operating, wait for it to fully cool before handling and hold it strictly by the handles, the temperature of which is limited by design specifications. The horizontal surfaces and metal grille are particularly susceptible to heating
-
During operation, the appliance must not be left unsupervised; in particular, always check that it has been switched off when leaving the room where it is located
-
Although quartz radiation does not consume oxygen and thus provides particularly healthy heating, it is always a good idea to check that the temperature in the room where the appliance is located does not reach excessively high values that are not well tolerated by the body
- Periodically check the wear of the various parts of the appliance. If damage or defects are found, do not use it and contact qualified personnel. Pay particular attention to the wear of the power cord
- In anticipation of long periods of non-use of the appliance, it should be disconnected from the mains and not simply switched off by means of the relative control
- In case of severe temperature fluctuations, wait 30 minutes before operating the appliance again
• Use the appliance only for the intended purposes as illustrated in this instruction manual
3. CONTENTS OF THE PACKAGE
The package does not include any accessories and components other than the machine body, as portrayed on the cover of this manual. When unpacking, check for complete integrity and refrain from activating the appliance if there is found to be damage or missing parts. In this case, please contact the retailer from whom it was purchased to restore the original condition of the appliance.
4. COMMISSIONING AND FIRST START-UP
The appliance must be activated paying close attention to the position where it is placed. Specifically, it must be checked that:
- The appliance is located on a flat and stable, non-flammable surface, preferably on inert flooring
- If placed on timber flooring, check that it does not reach high temperatures after a few minutes of use; if so, stop using the appliance
- There is sufficient clearance from surrounding objects (0.5 metres to the right and left, at least 1 metre at the front and above)
- There are no objects that might collide with the appliance such as doors, sashes, windows or other electrical appliances with moving parts
- The cord is not subjected to right angles, excessive choking, overheating, immersion and other potentially damaging circumstances
- There is sufficient clearance from taps, piping, storage tanks, moisture condensers, flower vases and downpipes to avoid any contact, even if accidental or partial, with water or other liquids
- The remaining provisions set out in chapter 2 above are satisfied
Having checked the above, set the switches to "0", then connect the power plug to a socket installed in compliance with best practices, with a rated current of at least 10 amperes.
Press the two switches alternately, setting them to “1”, and check that the respective groups of heating elements (resistors) turn a reddish colour within 30 seconds and then start emitting heat. If this is not the case, disconnect the appliance and contact the retailer from whom it was purchased. To this end, consider that the left switch powers the first and third heating elements from the top, and the right switch powers the second and fourth heating elements from the top.
All the heating elements can stay switched on at the same time if particularly intense heating is required.
The appliance is now fully operational and can be used to heat the room in which it is installed; after 10 minutes of operation, check that any nearby objects have not become too hot, periodically repeating the check. If the nearby objects are particularly hot, place the appliance in a different position.
5. USING THE APPLIANCE
The appliance can be started and stopped using the two front switches as described in Chapter 4, provided the safety precautions stated above are always observed. In particular, refrain from prolonged and uninterrupted use for more than one hour, ensuring a cooling period of approximately 15 minutes every 60 minutes of use.
In order to minimise power consumption and protect the environment, refrain from using the appliance unnecessarily; quartz heating is particularly rapid, allowing the appliance to be stopped each time the room where it is installed is abandoned.
6. CARE, MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
The appliance does not require maintenance, understood as the regular servicing or replacement of consumable parts.
To clean the appliance, it must be strictly turned off, all of its parts must have completely cooled, and the power cord must be disconnected. Use a damp cloth, avoiding aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents. An ordinary long, soft bristle brush can be used to remove any dust deposits. Wait until it is completely dry before reconnecting the cord to the power socket.
Never use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust deposits as heavy-handed use may damage and impair the components.
7. TROUBLESHOOTING
The appliance does not manifest any malfunctions or faults that can be resolved by operator intervention except the accidental detachment of the power cord causing the appliance to completely shut down, and which can naturally be remedied by reconnecting the power cord to the socket.
In all cases of operational malfunction, even if minor, have the appliance examined by qualified technical personnel.
