PRODUCT SAFETY

IMPORTANT NOTES ON CORRECT USE

1. This appliance is intended exclusively for preparing espresso and cappuccino for home consumption, using ground coffee or pods.
2. This appliance is intended for domestic use and similar applications, such as:

*kitchen areas of shop staff, offices and other working environments;

*agrotourism

*customers of hotels, guesthouses and other residential environments;

*rooms like bed and breakfast.

1. This product is not a toy.
2. Use the product for the sole purpose for which it was designed. The manufacturer is not liable for damage or injury caused by improper use.
3. Unauthorised repairs or modifications will invalidate the warranty.
4. Do not use outdoors.
5. Never leave the turned on appliance unattended.
6. Do not place on or near a gas or electric stove, or in a hot oven.
7. Periodically check the water level in the tank. Do not use the machine without water in the tank.
8. Before use, place the appliance on a solid, flat and horizontal surface.
9. To turn off the appliance manually, press the shutdown button.
10. Never put the appliance in the dishwasher.
11. Use only original or manufacturer-recommended spare parts and accessories.

PRODUCT

1. Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, check that the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the voltage available in your home. Connect the appliance to a power outlet equipped with efficient grounding. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any accidents caused by the lack of grounding of the system.
2. Do not leave parts of the packaging (plastic bags, polystyrene foam, etc.) within reach of children or dependant persons, as these objects are potential sources of danger (e.g.: risk of suffocation).
3. The appliance may be used by children of at least 8 years of age and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities, or without experience or knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have received instructions on the safe use of the appliance and the

understanding of the hazards inherent thereto. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance intended to be carried out by the user shall not be carried out by children without supervision.

1. Supervise the children so that they do not play with the appliance.

2. Leave at least 3 cm of space between the coffee machine and any side or rear walls, and leave at least 15 cm of space above the coffee machine.

3. Do not fill the appliance beyond the maximum limit or below the minimum limit indicated. If the appliance is too full, boiling liquid may spill out.

4. Unplug the appliance when not in use, while filling it or while on the move.

5. Let the appliance cool before cleaning.

6. Incorrect use of the product can cause damage or injury.

7. In order to avoid electric shocks, do not immerse the body of the product in water or other liquids.

8. Avoid wetting or splashing liquids on the coffee machine. In case of contact with liquids, immediately unplug the cord from the electrical outlet and dry thoroughly.

9. Do not use aggressive detergents or sharp objects to clean the coffee machine.

10. Do not make any modifications to the appliance.

11. Never try to put out a flame/fire with water: turn off the appliance, remove the plug from the socket and cover the flame with a lid or a fireproof blanket.

12. Do not place the appliance near taps or sinks.

13. The surface of the heating element is subject to residual heat after use. Do not touch until the appliance is fully cooled.

14. This product does not contain repairable parts. Don't try to fix it yourself. Have maintenance performed by a qualified service centre using only identical spare parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.

15. Do not use the appliance at high temperatures, in very humid or wet environments or in the vicinity of flammable material.

16. Do not use if the appliance has fallen or has been damaged in any way. Do not attempt repairs yourself. Contact your dealer for repair/replacement, if under warranty, or customer support.

CABLE AND PLUG

1. The power cord must be connected to an AC electrical outlet (standard household current). Do not use other electrical outlets.

2. In case of incompatibility between the socket and the plug of the appliance, have the socket replaced by another suitable type by qualified personnel. The use of adapters, multiple sockets, and/or extensions is not recommended. Should their use be necessary, use only simple or multiple adapters and extensions complying with the current safety standards, taking care not to exceed the power limit marked on the adapter and/or extension.

3. Do not use the power cord if damaged.

4. Use only the power cord supplied in the package.

5. In order to avoid electric shock, do not immerse the power cord in water or other liquids.

6. The power cord should be used in a dry and clean place. Use in wet or dirty environments may lead to risks of fire, electric shock or electrocution.

7. Do not touch the cable or power plug with wet hands.

8. Do not let the cable dangle or fall down from a countertop.

9. Be careful not to pull or trip over the power cord. Keep the cable away from sources of heat, hot objects or open flames.

10. Disconnect the cable from the power outlet before cleaning and when the appliance is not in use. To disconnect, turn off the appliance, then remove the plug from the wall outlet. Don't pull the cable but grab the plug.

11. Always connect the plug to the appliance first, then connect the cable to the wall outlet. Make sure the cable is fully extended.

12. The cable should not be twisted or wrapped around the appliance.

13. Do not use the appliance if the power cord is damaged. Do not attempt repairs yourself. Contact your dealer for repair/replacement, if under warranty, or customer support.

14. Do not use extension cables or timer devices.

DANGER OF SCALDING!

1. Do not touch the hot parts of the appliance to avoid burns (see 1 and 2 on Fig. 1).

BEFORE FIRST USE

1. Remove the different components from the packaging, check that they are complete and intact, carefully remove any protections and labels. The package contains:

1. Make sure that all parts are assembled correctly and in place before use.
2. Wash all parts in contact with food, following the instructions in the section "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE".
3. Remove the tank by pulling it upwards (10).
4. Remove the protective cap on the valve located on the bottom of the tank (if present).
5. Fill the tank (10) with fresh, clean water directly under the tap or using a jug, taking care not to exceed the maximum MAX level indicated on the tank or below the minimum MIN level.

It is preferable to use natural bottled mineral water with medium hardness, checking that the fixed residue indicated in the table is not too high (the ideal is a value between 75mg/l and 250 mg/l) and making sure that the total lack of minerals does not deprive coffee of its characteristic flavour.

FIRST USE

1. Turn on the appliance by pressing down the on/off button (15) for a few seconds ⏻: the lights of the buttons (16), (17) and (18) come on flashing until the preset temperature is reached.
2. Make sure the steam/hot water knob (7) is in the O position. If the knob is in the steam/water position

( ) or any other position, the machine emits 5 beeps to remind the user to turn the knob to the off position (O).

1. The coffee machine is ready for use as soon as the indicator lights become steady.
2. Turn the knob (20) to the water function and press it.

3. As soon as the indicator light becomes steady, place a container under the hot water/steam dispenser (6).

4. Turn the steam/hot water knob (7) to position 🏠/○ and dispense hot water until steam comes out. This operation must also be carried out if the tank runs out of water during operation.

5. Then close the steam/hot water knob (7) bringing it to the O position.

6. Clean the internal tubes of the machine before use as follows:

a) Attach the filter holder by aligning the handle with the symbol ☐ and turning it to the right to the position 🔒

b) Place a glass under the coffee spout.

c) Press the knob (20) once, turn it to the 2 cup coffee function and press it again. Fill 2 glasses of water.
d) Repeat the operation at least 3 times.
e) At the end of the operation, remove the water from the drip tray

OPERATION

IMPORTANT NOTE

• Before turning the machine on, make sure that the steam/hot water knob (7) is in the O position.

• After dispensing steam or water, turn the steam knob clockwise to the O position and press the function knob (20).

• Turn on the appliance by pressing down the on/off button (15) ⏻ for a few seconds: the lights of the buttons (16), (17) and (18) come on flashing until the preset temperature is reached.

• The coffee machine is ready for use as soon as the indicator lights become steady.

A) ESPRESSO WITH GROUND COFFEE

1. Insert the ground coffee filter for one or two cups into the filter holder (the corresponding number 1-CUP/2-CUP is imprinted under each filter).
2. Fill the filter with one level measure of ground coffee if you want to prepare just one coffee, otherwise fill the filter with 2 level measures if you want to prepare coffees.
3. Press the ground coffee using the tamper (11).4. Remove excess ground coffee from the edge of the filter holder.

1. Hook the filter holder by aligning the handle with the symbol (A) and rotating it to the right to the position (B).
2. Place the cup or cups under the spouts of the filter holder and turn the knob (20) to the 1 cup or 2 cups indicator.
3. The light flashes, press the knob (20) to start dispensing.

1. The machine automatically stops once the preset amount of coffee has been reached. If you want a smaller amount of coffee, press the knob (20), or memorize the desired quantity of coffee by following the instructions in the paragraph "CUSTOMIZE THE COFFEE BREWING QUANTITY"

2. Remove the cup(s) and serve.

3. To prepare more coffee, release the filter holder by rotating the handle to the left, empty the filter of the used coffee grounds, and refill it with fresh ground coffee.

4. At the end of use, turn off the machine by holding down the on/off button (15) ⏻ for a few seconds.

Useful suggestions:

- For a strong coffee, press the ground coffee firmly with the tamper.

- For a lighter coffee, press the ground coffee gently with the tamper.

- After turning on, for the first coffees, we suggest adequately preheating the cups before preparing the coffee.

DANGER OF SCALDING!

To avoid splashing, do not release the filter holder during dispensing; instead, wait a few seconds after dispensing is complete.

DANGER

Do not leave the machine unattended during preparation.

B) ESPRESSO WITH PODS

1. Insert the coffee pod filter into the filter holder, positioning it correctly.

2. Place the pod in the centre of the filter as much as possible.

3. Attach the filter holder by aligning the handle with the symbol 🔒 and rotating it to the right until it reaches the position 🔒.

4. Place the cup under the spouts of the filter holder and turn the knob (20) to the 1 cup indicator

5. The light flashes, press the knob (20) to start dispensing.

6. The machine automatically stops once the preset amount of coffee has been reached. If you want a smaller amount of coffee, press the knob (20).

7. Remove the cup(s) and serve.

8. To prepare more coffee, release the filter holder by rotating the handle to the left, empty the filter of the used coffee grounds, and refill it with fresh ground coffee.

9. At the end of use, turn off the machine by holding down the on/off button (15) for a few seconds

Be sure to operate with caution. Steam can cause burns or injuries.

Clean the steam dispenser with a wet sponge immediately after the steam stops coming out, being careful not to burn yourself!

1. Prepare the espresso coffee using large cups.
2. Turn the knob (20) to the steam indicator and the light will flash, then press the knob (20).
3. Fill a container with approximately 100 grams of semi-skimmed or cold whole milk for each cappuccino you want to prepare. A jug with a diameter not less than 70 mm is recommended, and make sure the jug's height is sufficient as the milk doubles in volume.
4. When the light becomes steady, place an empty container under the steam dispenser (6) and open the steam/hot water knob (7) to the position to drain any water present and then close the knob.

3/8+

1. Place the container with the milk under the dispenser (6), submerging it slightly in the milk. Turn the steam/hot water knob (7) to position and slowly move the container from bottom to top to obtain a creamier foam.
2. Once the volume of the milk has doubled, immerse the steam dispenser completely and heat the milk. Stop dispensing by turning the steam knob clockwise to the O position.
3. Pour the milk into the cups with the espresso. Sweeten to taste and, if desired, sprinkle the foam with a bit of cocoa powder.
4. The steam dispenser can be used to froth milk, dispense hot water or prepare hot chocolate.

DANGER! HIGH TEMPERATURE

At the end of the steam operation, due to the high internal temperature, if you select the coffee mode to brew

coffee, the " [icon] " or " [icon] " light will flash rapidly to indicate that the temperature is too high to brew coffee. In this case, it is not possible to use the coffee mode and it is necessary to cool the machine as follows:

1. Rotate the water/steam knob (7) anticlockwise, the water will be pumped to cool the machine.
2. When the machine reaches a suitable temperature, the pump stops working and the water stops flowing automatically, all the lights flash.
3. Return the water/steam knob (7) to the O position, the machine will return to standby mode and coffee can now be brewed normally.

D) DISPENSING HOT WATER

1. Turn the function knob (20) to the hot water indicator ⚙ and press it, the light becomes steady.

2. Place a container under the steam/hot water dispenser (6).

3. Rotate the steam/hot water knob (7) to position to dispense hot water.
4. Stop dispensing by turning the steam knob clockwise to the O position.
5. At the end of use, turn off the machine by holding down the on/off button (15) for a few seconds

CUSTOMIZE THE COFFEE BREWING QUANTITY

Once the machine has finished preheating, turn the control knob (20) to one cup coffee function, then press and hold the function knob (20) for 3 seconds to start dispensing the coffee. Once the desired quantity has been reached, press the control knob (20) to stop coffee preparation (Min: 10 seconds, Max: 30 seconds). This has changed the default single cup coffee setting.

Perform the same procedure to set your preferred volume for two cups (Min: 30 seconds; Max: 50 seconds).

- Cancel the customization of the coffee brewed

After preheating, the single/double cup button will be constantly lit. When the machine is in standby mode, long press the control knob for 3 seconds. 3 beeps will be heard and the previously stored quantity will be deleted and the original factory settings will be restored.

AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN FUNCTION

The machine will automatically turn off if no operation is performed for 30 minutes. You can press "to wake up the machine

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning, always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and let it cool completely.

DANGER

Do not immerse the coffee machine in water or other liquids.

Cleaning the appliance will be easier if done immediately after use.

a) Cleaning the outside of the machine

Clean the machine unit, water tank, cup tray and drip tray often with a damp sponge, then dry them.

b) Cleaning the coffee filters

Clean the coffee filters regularly under running water. If the holes are blocked, clean them with a pin or brush.

c) Cleaning the dispenser after frothing the milk

Clean the dispenser immediately after use:

1. Rotate the steam knob to release some steam and flush out any remaining milk inside.

2. Turn off the machine by pressing the on/off button (15).

3. Hold the dispenser tube steady using the appropriate handle (8) and with the other hand rotate the dispenser, sliding the nozzle downwards.

1. Wash the nozzle thoroughly with warm water.
2. Reinsert the nozzle into the steam wand by sliding it upward and rotating it counterclockwise.

d) Cleaning the boiler dispenser

The boiler dispenser must be rinsed every 200 coffees or at least once a month by dispensing approximately 500 ml of water by pressing the coffee button without inserting the ground coffee powder or pod.

e) Cleaning the water tank

Clean the water tank approximately twice a month with a damp cloth and mild detergent.

DANGER! Do not put the motor unit in the dishwasher or soak liquids.

IMPORTANT NOTE : Do not use chemical detergents, steel wool or abrasive cleaners for cleaning.

f) Descaling

To ensure efficient operation of the coffee machine, to clean the internal pipes and to preserve the flavor of the coffee, the coffee machine must be periodically descaled, cleaned and maintained.

After approximately 300 cycles, it is recommended to carry out descaling operations on the machine.

1. Pour the descaling agent (approximately 10 g) into the water tank and fill the water tank with water up to the MAX level. Please use "household descaler".
2. Turn on the machine and wait for it to heat up properly, then place a large capacity cup under the coffee spout (2) and a container under the hot water/steam spout (6).
3. Use the coffee mode to allow the descaling water to flow through the coffee water pipe of the machine, then use the hot water mode: the water pump starts working and the descaling water flows through the coffee pipe steam, repeat the above operation at least 5 times.
4. Replace the water tank with clean water and use the coffee mode to allow water to flow through the coffee water pipe of the machine, then use the hot water mode to allow clean water to flow through the steam pipe, repeat the operation described above at least 5 times. At this point the machine has completed descaling.

g) Storing

• Allow the appliance to cool completely before storing it or wrapping the supply cable around it.
• Make sure all parts are clean and dry before storing them.
• Never store the appliance when it is still wet.
• It is recommended to store the appliance in a dry place, clean and away from moisture and dust.

The machine stopped working	The power cord is not connected properly	Correctly plug the power cord into a wall outlet. If the appliance still does not work, contact the dealer or customer service.
The water/steam dispenser does not work	The steam indicator (19) is not lit	The dispenser can be used for frothing only when the indicator light is on
	The jug is too large or the shape is not suitable	Use a tall, narrow jug
	Skimmed milk has been used	Use whole or semi-skimmed milk
The coffee cream is light and flows quickly from the spout	The ground coffee is lightly pressed	Press the coffee more firmly

INFORMATION ON DISPOSAL

PRODUCT

Pursuant to art. 26 of Legislative Decree No. 49 of 14 March 2014 “Implementation of Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)”, the presence of the wheeled bin symbol indicates that this product is not to be considered urban waste: Non-separate disposal can be a potential harm to the environment and health. This product may be returned to the distributor upon purchase of a new appliance.

Improper disposal of the product constitutes fraudulent conduct and is subject to sanctions by the Public Safety Authority. For more information, please contact the local environmental authority.

PACKAGING

For information on how to properly dispose of the packaging that protects this product and its parts and/or accessories, follow the instructions in the packaging.

The Company Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. thanks its Customers for their choice and guarantees that its appliances are the result of the latest technologies and research.

This warranty applies only to small appliances marked with the "Tognana" brand and is valid as a conventional warranty pursuant to Article 135-quinquies of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206 of 6 September 2005). This warranty does not in any way affect the rights expressly provided for in favour of the consumer by the regulations on the sale of consumer movable goods, whether Italian or of the consumer's country of residence: the consumer can therefore always assert his rights against the retailer from which he purchased the appliance, under the conditions and within the terms provided for by these regulations.

Under this warranty, the appliance is covered by the conventional warranty for a period of two years from the date of purchase by the first user.

It is up to the consumer - through a delivery document issued by the retailer (or by Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. itself, in the case of a purchase made by the consumer directly in the online shop of the latter) or by another evidentiary document (for example, tax receipt, cash receipt or similar, purchase order, etc.), which shows the name of the retailer and the date on which the sale was made - to demonstrate that this warranty is still valid at the time of filing the complaint of defect of the appliance.

In the event of a defect in the appliance, pursuant to this warranty, the consumer may highlight this defect by contacting the appliance dealer or by contacting Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. directly at the e-mail [e-mail], or at the telephone number [phone].

Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. guarantees the free repair or replacement of the appliance and/or its components that have defects due to ascertained causes of manufacture and/or malfunctions, directly or through affiliated service centres (check any contacts on the Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. website:

www.tognana.com). Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. reserves the right to completely replace the appliance, if repairability is impossible or too expensive, with another identical or similar appliance (or one that has functional and aesthetic characteristics similar to those of the purchased appliance), without the consumer being able, in this second hypothesis, to contest the choice made by Tognana Porcellane S.p.A.

The consumer, in the presentation of the complaint, in addition to specifying the defect found, also providing photographic documentation, if indispensable for the purpose of ascertaining the defect of the appliance, must communicate their personal data - name and surname, residence address, email and telephone number - for each subsequent contact. For the successful replacement or repair of the appliance, the consumer will in any case be required to follow the instructions provided in this regard by the employees of Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. or the service centre in charge.

All costs of repair and delivery of the replacement appliance or defect-free components will be entirely borne by Tognana Porcellane S.p.A., which will also bear the costs of returning the defective appliance or component, if expressly requested by the consumer.

It should be noted that, following the replacement or repair of the appliance, the effective date of this warranty remains that of the first purchase: therefore, the service performed under the warranty does not extend the period of its validity.

For the purposes of the effectiveness of this warranty, it is specified that: the appliance has been designed and built for exclusively domestic use, consequently terminating this warranty for any other different use. In addition, the appliance can never be considered defective if it has to be adapted or modified to comply with national or local safety and/or technical standards, in force in the consumer's country, if outside the European Union.

In any case, this warranty does not cover:

- parts subject to wear and tear, nor those that require periodic replacement and/or maintenance;

- negligence or carelessness in the use of the appliance (e.g. failure to comply with the operating instructions of the appliance);

- professional use of the appliance;

- defects due to incorrect installation, configuration, updating of software/BIOS/firmware not performed by authorized personnel Tognana Porcellane S.p.A;

- repairs or interventions carried out by personnel not authorised by Tognana Porcellane S.p.A.;

- manipulations of components of the appliance or, where applicable, of the software;

- other circumstances that, in any case, cannot be traced back to manufacturing defects in the appliance.

Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. declines all responsibility for any damage that may, directly or indirectly, result to people, property and pets as a result of failure to comply with all the requirements indicated in the specific instruction booklet and concerning especially the warnings regarding installation, use and maintenance of the device.

Further claims, in particular if they relate to claims, are excluded, unless the liability arises from express provision of law. At the end of the period of validity of this warranty, or for goods that are not covered by it, Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. remains available to the customer for any questions or information.
