  1. This appliance is designed exclusively to prepare espresso coffee and cappuccinos for domestic consumption, using ground coffee or pods.
  2. This appliance is intended for domestic use and similar applications, such as:

*staff kitchens of shops, offices, and other work environments;
*agritourisms;
*guests of hotels, pensions, and other residential type environments;
*bed and breakfast type environments.

  1. This product is not a toy.
  2. Use the product for the sole purpose for which it has been designed. The manufacturer is not liable for damage or injury caused by improper use.
  3. Unauthorised repairs or changes shall void the warranty.
  4. Do not use outdoors.
  5. Never leave the appliance on unattended.
  6. Do not position it above or near hot gas or electric burners, or in a heated oven.
  7. Before use, place the appliance on a solid, flat, and horizontal surface.
  8. To manually turn the appliance off, press the on/off button.

  1. Before connecting the appliance to the power, check that the voltage shown on the appliance corresponds to your household voltage. Connect the appliance to a properly earthed power socket. The manufacturer disclaims all liability for any accidents due to unearthed electrical installations.

  2. Do not leave parts of the packaging (plastic bags, polystyrene foam, etc.) within reach of children or dependent persons as these objects are potential sources of danger (e.g. risk of suffocation).

  3. The appliance can be used by children at least 8 years of age and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience or the necessary knowledge, provided they are supervised or have received instructions on how to safely use the appliance and understand the inherent dangers. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance under the user's responsibility must not be performed by unattended children.

  4. Supervise children in order that they do not play with the appliance.

  5. Do not use the appliance without water in the tank or with the tank empty.

  6. Leave a clearance of about 3 cm between the coffee machine and any side or rear walls and leave a clearance of at least 15 cm above the coffee machine.

  7. Do not fill the appliance above the indicated maximum limit or below the indicated minimum limit. If the appliance is overfilled, boiling liquid may spill out.

  8. Disconnect the appliance from the socket when not in use, when filling it, and when moving it.

  9. Leave the appliance to cool before cleaning.

  10. Improper use of the product may cause damage or injury.

  11. To avoid electric shocks, do not submerge the body of the product in water or other liquids.

  12. Do not wet or spray liquids onto the coffee machine. In case of contact with liquids, immediately disconnect the power cord

from the power socket and dry thoroughly.

  1. Do not use aggressive detergents or sharp objects to clean the coffee machine.
  2. Do not make changes to the appliance.
  3. Never attempt to extinguish a flame/fire with water: turn the appliance off, remove the plug from the power socket and cover the flame with a lid or fireproof blanket.
  4. Do not place the appliance near taps or sinks
  5. The surface of the heating element is subject to residual heat after use. Do not touch it until the appliance has fully cooled down.
  6. This appliance does not contain repairable parts. Do not try to repair it by yourself. Arrange for maintenance to be performed by a qualified service centre using only identical spare parts. This will ensure the continued safety of the product.
  7. Do not use the appliance in very hot, humid or wet environments, or near flammable materials.
  8. Do not use if the appliance has been dropped or damaged in any way. Do not attempt to repair it yourself. Contact the retailer for repair/replacement, if under warranty, or call customer support.

PLUG AND CORD

  1. The power cord must be connected to an AC power outlet (standard household current). Do not use other power outlets.
  2. In case of incompatibility between the power socket and the plug of the appliance, have the socket replaced with another suitable type by qualified personnel. It is not recommended to use adapters, power strips and/or extension cords. Should their use become necessary, use only single or multiple adapters and extension cords that comply with current safety standards, making sure not to exceed the power limit marked on the adapter and/or extension cord.
  3. Do not use the power cord if damaged.
  4. Use only the power cord included in the packaging.
  5. To avoid electric shocks, do not submerge the power cord in water or other liquids.

  6. The power cord must be used in a dry and clean place. Use of the appliance in wet or dirty environments may give rise to the risk of fire, electric shocks or electrocution.

  7. Do not touch the power cord or plug with wet hands.
  8. Do not let the cord hang over the counter.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Extract the various components from the packaging, check that they are intact and complete, gently remove any protections and labels. The packaging includes:

  1. Check that all parts are assembled correctly and in place before use.
  2. Wash all parts in contact with food, following the instructions in the "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE" paragraph.
  3. Remove the tank by pulling it upwards (10).
  4. Remove the red protective cap placed on the valve located on the bottom of the tank.
  5. Fill the tank (10) with fresh, clean water directly under the tap or using a carafe, taking care not to exceed the maximum MAX level indicated on the tank or below the minimum MIN level.

It is preferable to use bottled natural mineral water with medium hardness, checking that the fixed residue indicated in the table is not too high (the ideal is a value between 75mg/l and 250 mg/l) and considering that the total lack of minerals deprives the coffee of its characteristic flavour.

FIRST USE

  1. Turn on the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF button (15): the lights of the three buttons (15), (16) and (17) come on for a few seconds.
  2. Make sure the steam knob is in the position ●
  3. The lights (16) and (17) flash to indicate that the preset temperature is being reached. The coffee machine is ready for use as soon as the lights become steady.
  4. Place a container under the hot water/steam wand (6).
  5. Turn the steam knob (7) to the position 📋 and dispense hot water until steam comes out.
  6. Then close the knob back to position .

OPERATION

ESPRESSO WITH GROUND COFFEE

1. Insert the one or two cup ground coffee filter into the filter holder (the corresponding number 1-CUP/2-CUP is stamped under each filter).Tognana Iridea D2DCM05IRRO - ESPRESSO WITH GROUND COFFEE - 1
2. Fill the filter with a level measure of ground coffee if you want to prepare just one coffee, otherwise fill the filter with 2 level measures if you want to prepare 2 coffees.

Helpful tips:

• To obtain a strong coffee, press the ground coffee hard with the tamper.
• To obtain a light coffee, lightly press the ground coffee with the tamper.
- After switching on, for the first coffees, we suggest preheating the cups adequately before preparing the coffee.

ESPRESSO WITH POD

  1. Insert the coffee filter pod into the filter holder, positioning it correctly
  2. Attach the filter holder by aligning the handle with the symbol 🔒 and turning it to the right to the position 🔒
  3. Place the cup or cups under the filter holder spouts and press the dispensing button
  4. Once the desired quantity of coffee has been reached, press the delivery button again
  5. Remove the cup(s) and serve.
  6. To prepare more coffees, release the filter holder by turning the handle to the left, empty the filter of any coffee powder already used and refill with ground coffee.

PREPARE THE CAPPUCCINO

  1. Prepare espresso using large cups.
  2. Press the key and the light flashes.
  3. Fill a container with about 100 grams of semi-skimmed milk or cold whole milk for each cappuccino you wish to prepare. We recommend a jug with a diameter of no less than 70 mm and make sure that the height of the jug is sufficient as the milk doubles in volume.
  4. When the light becomes steady, place an empty container under the steam wand (6) and open the steam knob (7) to position to purge any water present and then close the knob.
  5. Place the container with the milk under the dispenser (6) dipping it slightly in the milk. Turn the steam knob (7) to the position and slowly move the container from bottom to top to obtain a creamier froth.
  6. Once the volume of the milk has doubled, immerse the steam wand deeply and heat the milk. Stop delivery by turning the steam knob clockwise.
  7. Pour the milk into the cups with the espresso. Sweeten to taste and, if desired, sprinkle the foam with a little cocoa powder.
  8. The steam wand can be used to froth milk, dispense hot water or prepare hot chocolate.
  9. After producing steam, you can immediately press the "Coffee" button (16) to dispense coffee again.

BURN HAZARD!

Be sure to operate with caution. Steam can cause burns or injury. Clean the steam outlet with a wet sponge immediately after the steam stops coming out, being careful not to burn yourself!

DISPENSE HOT WATER

  1. Turn on the machine using the ON/OFF switch and wait for the coffee dispensing lights to stay on.
  2. Place a container under the steam wand (6).
  3. Turn the steam knob to the position to let the hot water come out.

AUTO SHUT OFF FUNCTION

  • If no operation is selected after 29 minutes after turning on the power, the unit will turn off automatically.
  • If no operation is selected after 90 seconds of hot water delivery, the pump will stop automatically.
  • If no operation is selected after 180 seconds of frothing the milk, the pump will stop automatically.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before proceeding with cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the socket and allow it to cool completely.

Do not immerse the coffee machine in water or other liquids

Cleaning the appliance will be easier if done immediately after use.

a) Clean the outside of the machine

Frequently clean the body of the machine, the water tank, the cup tray and the drip tray with a damp sponge, then dry them.

b) Cleaning the coffee filters

Clean the coffee filters regularly under running water. If the holes are blocked, clean them with a pin or brush.

c) Cleaning the dispenser after frothing the milk

Clean the dispenser immediately after use:

  1. Turn the steam knob to let out a little steam and let the milk left inside flow out.

  2. Turn off the machine by pressing the ON/OFF switch

  3. Hold the dispenser tube still using the handle provided (8) and with the other rotate the dispenser by pulling the nozzle downwards.

  1. Thoroughly wash the nozzle with warm water.

  2. Insert the nozzle back into the dispenser tube by inserting it upwards and turning it counterclockwise.

d) Cleaning the boiler dispenser

The boiler dispenser must be rinsed every 200 coffees or at least once a month by dispensing around 500 ml of water by pressing the coffee button without inserting the ground coffee or the pod.

e) Cleaning the water tank

Clean the water tank about once a month with a damp cloth and mild detergent.

HAZARD!

Do not put the motor unit and base in the dishwasher or immerse in liquids.

IMPORTANT NOTE : Do not use chemical cleaners, steel wool or abrasive cleaners for cleaning.

f) Decalcification

To ensure efficient operation of the coffee machine, to clean the internal pipes and to preserve the flavor of the coffee, the coffee machine must be periodically descaled, cleaned and maintained. After approximately 500 cycles, a descaling warning will appear: all indicators will flash 5 times, which means that the machine needs to be descaled. The descaling warning will continue at each start up until it is done.

  1. Fill the water tank with water and descaler up to the MAX level. The proportion of water and descaler is 4:1, refer to the instructions on the descaler. Please use "household descaler").
  2. Press the "Coffee" button once to start the brewing cycle. Dispense about 100 ml of water. Then switch off the appliance and leave the descaling solution in the appliance for 5 minutes.
  3. Turn on the appliance and repeat the previous step 3 more times.
  4. Subsequently, repeat this process using only clean TAP WATER 2 times (without descaler).
  5. At the end, it is necessary to cancel descaling by pressing and holding down the Coffee (16) and Steam (17) buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.

g) Storage

  • Let the appliance cool down completely before storing it or wrapping up the power cord.
  • Make sure all parts are clean and dry before storing.
  • Never store the appliance when it is still wet.
  • It is recommended to store the device in a dry, clean place away from humidity and dust.

Disposing of it must therefore be carried out by separate waste collection. Failure to dispose of the appliance as separate waste may constitute a potential hazard to the environment and human health. Said product can be returned to the distributor upon purchase of a new appliance.

The appliance is covered by the standard TWO-YEAR warranty from the date of purchase by the first user. This warranty is without prejudice to the validity of the legislation in force concerning consumer goods (L.D. no. 206 of 6th September 2005, art. 130).

In order to make a claim under the Warranty, the consumer must submit the receipt or invoice certifying the purchase of the product.

If the consumer wishes to submit a claim under the Warranty, they must contact their retailer or Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. directly at the following email address: support@tognana.com, or phone number +39 0422 - 6721.

The components or parts found to have ascertained manufacturing defects shall be repaired or replaced free of charge by our authorised service network, during the aforementioned warranty period.

The repair costs, including the cost of the spare parts, the shipping costs for the delivery of a defect-free product or component, shall be borne by Tognana Porcellane S.p.A.

Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. shall also bear the shipping costs for the return of the defective product or component, in the event Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. or the service centre requests the return of the defective product or component. In any case, the consumer shall bear the cost of suitable packaging for the return of the defective product or component.

Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. reserves the right to fully replace the appliance in the event its repair is found to be impossible or disproportionately expensive, with another equivalent (or similar) appliance within the warranty period.

In this case, the warranty period shall remain that of the first purchase: any servicing carried out during the warranty period shall not extend the warranty period itself.

This appliance shall never be considered defective in terms of its materials or manufacture in the event it is adapted, changed, or adjusted to comply with national or local safety and/or technical standards in force in a country other than that for which it was originally designed and manufactured.

This appliance has been designed and built for domestic use only: any other use shall void the warranty.

The warranty does not cover:

- parts subject to wear and tear, or parts requiring periodic replacement and/or maintenance;

• professional use of the product;

  • malfunctions or any defects resulting from incorrect installation, configuration, software / BIOS / firmware updates not carried out by Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. authorised personnel;
    • repairs or servicing carried out by persons not authorised by Tognana Porcellane S.p.A.;
  • tampering with the assembly components, or where applicable, with the software.

Additional claims, in particular requests for compensation, shall be excluded unless liability is established by law.

At the end of the Warranty period, or for products not covered by said Warranty, Tognana Porcellane S.p.A. shall remain available to assist with any questions or requests for information by the end Client. Further information can also be found on our Website: www.tognana.com

Tognana reserves the right to make any changes necessary to improve the look and quality of the product, at any time and without prior notice.
