Safety instructions

  1. Include this instruction manual with the appliance if it is passed on to other people.

  3. Start by verifying that the type of current and supply voltage is as specified on the rating plate.
  4. Do not touch either the mini deep fryer or the power plug with wet or damp hands.
  5. Do not use a multiple power outlet that is already being used to power other devices.
  6. Use the mini deep fryer under supervision only and use it solely for the purpose intended.
  7. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children.
  8. Children shall not play with the device.
  9. Never operate this device with an external timer or a separate remote control system.
  10. Only operate the mini deep fryer on a heat-resistant, level and stable surface and not in the vicinity of hot stoves, gas flames or other sources of heat. Also, refrain from using the appliance under overhead cabinets and in the vicinity of flammable objects such as curtains, etc. Provide for sufficient clearance next to and above the mini deep fryer. Protect sensitive surfaces from splashes that may occur.

  1. Caution: Using the device results in high temperatures and steam may escape. If necessary, use oven mitts. Do not transport the appliance during operation or as long as the oil/grease is still hot.
  2. Please do not pull on the cable to move the device. Lift the device and place it in the desired location.
  3. Attention: Use caution and proceed slowly when placing food in the deep fryer that is particularly moist or frozen in order to prevent splashes and keep the grease from foaming. If the grease starts foaming excessively, remove the food to be fried again and immerse it into the grease again after waiting for a few seconds.
  4. Attention: Never fill the deep fryer above the MAX mark to keep it from overflowing and prevent splashes of grease - burn hazard!
  5. Do not place objects under or on top of the appliance while it is in operation.
  6. While frying the food, provide for sufficient ventilation in the room.
  7. While it can be used multiple times, oil or grease should be replaced at regular intervals. Old or contaminated oil or grease may catch on fire spontaneously when overheating. Never pour water on hot or burning oil or grease: Explosion hazard! In the event of a fire, pull the plug immediately and try to close the deep fryer with the lid to stifle the flames. Another option is to use a fire blanket.
  8. Pull the power plug after each use and:

– in case of faults during operation,

– each time you clean the device

Please do not pull on the connecting lead, but on the plug itself.

  1. Do not allow the power cord to dangle and place the device in a way that no one can fall over the cord.
  2. Check the power cord for damage prior to each use. Prevent it from becoming pinched or kinked, coming into contact with warm or hot surfaces, or from chafing against sharp edges. The cable must be replaced in any case if it is damaged.

  3. Never immerse the appliance, the cord or the plug in water or other liquids. Do not clean the appliance in the dishwasher.

  4. Never use the appliance if you discover damage, if water has penetrated the housing or if the appliance has dropped.
  5. Never attempt to open or repair the appliance yourself. In the event of a malfunction, have the appliance repaired by qualified experts only! Contact your authorised dealer whenever the appliance is in need of repairs.
  6. Only use the original accessories.

Before using for the first time

  • Please read through the operating instructions and safety advice carefully first.
  • Remove all packaging material and dispose of it properly.
  • Please only wipe off the housing and the grease container with a soft cloth (slightly damp, if necessary). You can use a mild detergent and warm water to clean the fry basket and the detachable handle. Attention: Do not use any caustic liquids or abrasive cleaning agents. Do not clean the deep fryer in the dishwasher.
  • Dry the mini deep fryer off completely.
  • Clip the handle to the deep fryer basket.
  • Unwind the cable completely and insert the plug into a suitable socket.

Use

  • Place the mini deep fryer on a suitable surface (not on a metal surface; not on fabrics etc.). Protect the surface from any splashes of grease.
  • Attention: Please make sure that the power cord has no contact with hot surfaces on the housing.

Fill the grease container with oil or grease between the MIN and the MAX mark. Attention: Do not fill the pot above the MAX mark to prevent splashes of grease and keep the deep fryer from overflowing.

Set the temperature controller to the desired temperature; the deep fryer starts heating up, and the indicator lamp comes on. The indicator lamp goes out as soon as the set temperature has been reached. The deep fryer is equipped with a thermostat, causing the indicator lamp to switch on and off during the heat-up phases.

Place the food to be fried into the basket and slowly submerge it in the oil or grease. Fry the food until it reaches the desired doneness, lift the basket out of the oil or grease and hang it at the edge of the oil container using the hook to allow the fried food to drain.

Keep the outside of the deep fryer clean and dry at all times. Make sure to prevent oil or grease from running down the outside of the deep fryer. Wipe up any oil or grease immediately with a slightly moistened cloth.

Attention: Do not carry, move or tip the appliance as long as it is in operation or the oil/grease is still hot.

After use

- Disconnect the power plug from the socket after each use and set the temperature controller to 0.

Do not pour used oil or grease down the drain, but dispose of it in an environmentally compatible way as required by local waste disposal regulations.

If you want to reuse the deep frying oil or grease, allow it to cool down to room temperature and fill it - before it hardens - into a different container by pouring it through a paper towel or filtering paper. Store the container in the refrigerator until you need to use it again.

Tips and tricks

- Use only highly heat-resistant deep frying oil or grease; observe the corresponding notices on the product packaging and the expiration date. Greases like butter, margarine or cold pressed oils are not suitable.

- We do not recommend heating the oil or grease above 175 °C / 347 °F to prevent the formation of acrylamide.

- Do not mix oils or greases as they may have different boiling points.

- Cut hard deep frying grease into cubes and allow these cubes to melt in a separate saucepan on the stove. Do not add the grease to the grease container of the deep fryer until it has melted. If you plan on using the grease again, fill it into a different container after it has cooled down and store the container in the refrigerator until you need to use it again. Reheat the grease as described above.

Do not fill too much grease into the basket at one time. The food to be fried must float freely in the oil or grease to ensure uniform cooking. Similarly, too much food in the deep fryer will cool down the grease, causing the food to soak up the grease and keeping it from becoming crispy.

- To achieve the best possible result, do not immerse the food to be fried in the oil or grease until the desired temperature has been reached.

- Dry the fried food as thoroughly as possible. Moist and, especially, deep-frozen foods contain water and produce hot splashes of grease when immersed in oil or grease, which may lead to burns.

- Do not leave fully fried foods in the drain position for too long as the steam rising from the oil or grease will soften the cooked food again.

- Replace used deep frying grease on a regular basis as it has a negative impact on flavour.

Cleaning and care

  • Remove the plug from the socket and let the mini deep fryer as well as the oil/grease cool down before cleaning it.
  • Do not use any sharp objects or spirit, solvent, scrubbing brushes or abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning.
  • Wipe the housing and the grease container with a moistened cloth and some detergent, wipe again then with a moistened cloth.
  • You can clean the deep fryer basket and the detachable handle in the dishwasher.
    · After cleaning, dry the parts completely.
  • Never immerse the mini deep fryer, the cable or the plug in water or other liquids and do not clean it in the dishwasher.
