Care instructions for the stone
Due to natural conditions, there may be variations in the color and structure of the stone. This is not a defect nor does it adversely affect the function. On the contrary, this emphasizes the fact that the stone is a natural product and that therefore no two stones are the same.
Due to the material properties the stone can have internal stresses. These could lead to cracks or even breakage of the stone if the temperature is changed too quickly. This can be largely avoided by observing the following one-time procedure. This will increase the stability of the stone and relieve the internal stresses. Nonetheless, small cracks can appear in the stone during this procedure or during later use, which do not have an adverse effect on the function. Furthermore, the stone will probably discolor during this procedure and later use. Stones with small cracks and discoloration are therefore excluded from the warranty and from replacement.

- First, clean the stone with warm water.
- Dry the stone thoroughly.
- Place the stone on the grate in the cold oven and heat it to 220 °C.
- Switch off the oven after 40 minutes and allow the stone to cool down to room temperature. Caution: Never chill the stone with cold water, to avoid a temperature shock!
- Your stone is now ready for further use.
Use
- Place the raclette on a stable, flat and heat-resistant surface (not on a metal surface; not on fabrics etc.). Use a washable surface because of the possible risk of spattering.
- Caution: Ensure that the power cable and pans do not touch the heating coil!
- Place the stone on the device with the juice groove facing upwards. Never place the cold stone on the preheated device.
- Insert the plug into a suitable socket.
- Turn on the device and allow it to preheat for about 8 - 10 minutes so that the stone plate reaches the operating temperature.
- Slightly grease the stone plate (the pans as well if needed) with oil, butter or similar.
· You can now fry the prepared pieces of food on the stone plate. - Caution: Do not place any deep-frozen ingredients on the stone.
-
Place the desired ingredients in the pans and place these on the rack beneath the heating coil.
As soon as the ingredients are done, remove the pans. In order to avoid scratches on the coating, empty the pans with wooden or heat resistant plastic spatulas only. -
Caution: The pans are hot. For this reason, touch them by the heat resistant handles and place them on heat resistant coasters only.
- We recommend that you do not leave the device on for an extended period with no food on it. Switch it off during extended pauses and then on again as needed.
- After use, switch off the device, pull the plug and allow the appliance to cool down completely.
Tips and tricks
- Do not heat empty pans in the device and do not leave the pans in the hot device after use; residues in the pans will burn and then be very difficult to remove.
- Cut the food into bite-sized pieces. These will be done quicker.
- Lightly brush meat or solid fish with oil before you place it on the stone plate. As an alternative, you can marinate them first.
• Take the food out of the refrigerator approximately 30 minutes before you start your raclette pleasure, so that it can take on room temperature.
Cleaning and care
- Always pull out the power cord before cleaning and allow the appliance to cool down.
- Clean the stone with hot water and a firm sponge only. You can easily remove food residues with a glass cook top cleaner. Do not use dishwashing detergent and do not clean the stone in the dishwasher.
