How to set up the device for the first time?

Before first use, read the original instructions and safety notes carefully. Check that the packaging is complete and undamaged. Assemble the accessories (suction tube, floor nozzle, etc.), prepare the cleaning solution, fill the clean water tank (max. 50 °C), insert the charged battery pack, then activate the spray and suction switches.

What type of battery to use and how to charge it?

Use only original Kärcher battery packs (Battery Power 36/50, Battery Power+ 36/60 or 36/75 models). The battery is partially charged upon delivery; charge it fully before first use. To charge, remove the battery from the device and use the compatible quick charger. Follow the instructions for the charger and battery pack.

How to prepare the cleaning solution?

Use fresh or warm water (max. 50 °C) and a suitable Kärcher detergent (e.g., RM 760, RM 764, RM 767). Mix in a clean container at the concentration indicated on the detergent packaging. Pour the solution into the clean water tank without exceeding the MAX mark. To prevent foam, add an anti-foaming agent (RM 761) into the dirty water tank.

How to achieve effective carpet cleaning?

For normal soiling, spray and extract in one operation by pulling the nozzle backwards. For stains, apply the solution without extraction, let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then clean normally. Always work from the clean area to the dirty area and from light to shadow. For long-pile carpets, brush in the direction of the grain after cleaning.

What to do if excessive foam forms in the dirty water tank?

Add anti-foaming agent (special accessory, reference RM 761) into the dirty water tank. This reduces foam formation, especially when cleaning previously shampooed carpets.

How to maintain the lint filter and clean water filter?

Clean the lint filter regularly under running water; if heavily soiled, open the frame and replace the non-woven fabric. For the clean water filter, unscrew it and clean under running water. Perform these operations after each use to maintain device performance.

The device does not work, what to check?

Check that the battery is charged and correctly inserted (clicked in). Ensure the switches are turned on. If the circuit board is overheated, let it cool down. If no water flow, check the water level, spray hose connections, nozzle tip (clean or replace), and clean water filter. For weak suction, check the cover, seal, lint filter, and suction hose.

Which detergents are recommended for this device?

Kärcher recommends its specific detergents: Carpet Pro (powder RM 760, iCapsol tablets RM 760, liquid RM 764), Carpet-Pro rapid drying (RM 767), waterproofing (RM 762) and anti-foam (RM 761). Dosages are indicated in the manual. Use only suitable detergents to avoid damaging the device.

How to rinse the device after use?

After each use, pour about 2 liters of drinking water (without detergent) into the clean water tank. Activate the spray pump and hold the nozzle over a drain, then activate the lever for 1-2 minutes. Empty the clean and dirty water tanks, clean them with running water, and let the device dry completely with the cover open.

Initial startup

1. Check hoses for damage before each startup.

Installing accessories

1. Adv only: Fit the suction pipe onto the floor nozzle and hand-tighten the union nut on the floor nozzle.
2. Adv only: If necessary, slide the handle onto the suction pipe and hand-tighten in the desired position.
3. Adv only: Fit the angle piece onto the suction pipe and hand-tighten the union nut on the angle piece.
4. Connect the suction hose to the suction hose connection on the device. Insert the spray hose coupling into the spray hose connection on the device and latch into place.
5. Connect the suction hose to the manual nozzle or the elbow. Connect the spray hose coupling to the manual nozzle or angle piece and latch into place.

Observe all instructions that are included with the detergents used.

Note

Warm water (maximum 50 °C) increases the cleaning effect. Check the temperature resistance of the surface to be cleaned.

Note

Use detergents sparingly to conserve the environment.

1. Mix fresh water and detergent in a clean container (concentration as specified for the detergent). Dissolve the detergent in the water.

Filling the fresh water tank

1. Pour the cleaning solution into the fresh water tank. The filling level must not exceed the "MAX" mark.

Defoaming agent

Note

Foam is generated in the wastewater container when cleaning previously shampooed carpets. Foaming can be prevented by adding defoaming agents.

1. Add defoaming agent (special accessory) to the wastewater container.

Inserting the battery pack

1. Slide the battery pack into the battery holder and lock it in place.

Switching on the device

1. Press the spray switch to switch on the spray pump. The spray LED lights up.
2. Press the suction switch to switch on the suction turbine. The suction LED lights up.

Risk of damage

Before using the device, check the object to be cleaned for colour fastness and water resistance in an inconspicuous place.

1. Remove loose dirt from the object to be cleaned.
2. Press the lever on the manual nozzle or angle piece to spray the cleaning solution.
3. Run over the surface to be cleaned in overlapping paths. Pull the nozzle backwards (do not push).
4. Adv only: When work is interrupted, the floor nozzle can be placed in the device carrying handle.
5. When changing the nozzle, the manual nozzle can be inserted into the holder for accessories.

Switching off the device

1. Switch off the spray switch and the suction switch. The LEDs extinguish.

Empty the wastewater container

1. Switch off the suction switch and the spray switch when the wastewater container is full.
2. Remove the cover.
3. Remove the wastewater container from the device and empty it.

Emptying the fresh water tank

1. Switch off the device.
2. Briefly operate the lever on the manual nozzle or angle piece to relieve pressure.
3. Disconnect the manual nozzle or angle piece from the spray/suction hose.
4. Hang the suction hose in the fresh water tank.
5. Press the suction switch to switch on the suction turbine.
6. Suck the fresh water tank empty and switch off the device.
7. Remove the cover.
8. Remove the wastewater container from the device and empty it.

Flushing the device

1. Connect the manual nozzle or angle piece (with suction pipe and floor nozzle) to the suction hose.
2. Connect the spray hose coupling to the manual nozzle or angle piece and latch into place.
3. Pour approximately 2 litres of tap water into the fresh water tank. Do not add detergents.
4. Press the spray switch to switch on the spray pump.
5. Hold the manual or floor nozzle over a drain.
6. Operate the lever on the manual nozzle or angle piece and flush the device for 1 to 2 minutes.
7. Switch off the device.
8. Remove the wastewater container from the device and empty it.

Each time after use

1. Flush the device.
2. Drain the wastewater container and clean it under running water.
3. Empty the fresh water tank.
4. Clean the exterior of the device with a damp cloth.
5. To avoid unpleasant smells, remove all water from the device before long downtimes.
6. Let the device dry thoroughly: Remove the cover or move it to the side.
7. Clean the fluff filter and fresh water filter (see "Care and maintenance").

Storing the device

1. Store the spray/suction hose and manual nozzle as shown in the illustration.
2. Store the device in a dry room and secure it against unauthorised use.

Cleaning methods

Normal soiling

1. Spray and vacuum up the cleaning solution in one step.

Note

Repeated vacuuming without spraying shortens the drying time.

Heavily soiling or stains

1. Apply cleaning solution with the suction turbine switched off and let it work for 10 to 15 minutes.
2. Clean the area as with normal soiling.

Upholstery cleaning

1. Adv only: Fit the manual nozzle instead of the floor nozzle.
2. Use less detergent for sensitive fabrics and spray the surface at a distance of approx. 200 mm. Then only vacuum.

Cleaning tips

• Spray heavily soiled areas in advance and allow the cleaning solution to work for 5 to 10 minutes.
• Always work from light to shadow (from window to door).
• Always work from the cleaned to the uncleaned area.
• The more sensitive the covering (oriental bridges, Berber, upholstery fabric) the lower the concentration of detergent.
• Carpets with jute backs can shrink and bleed in colour if the work is too wet.
• Brush wet pile carpets in the direction of the pile after cleaning when wet (e.g. with a fibre brush or scrubber).
• Impregnating after wet cleaning prevents the textile from being quickly soiled again.
• To avoid pressure points or rust stains, do not walk on or furnish the cleaned area until after it has fully dried.
• To improve the cleaning result, rinse the object with clean water after using detergents.

Single-sided spray jet
