Thank you for choosing our toaster. Before using the appliance, and to ensure the best use, carefully read these instructions.

The safety precautions enclosed herein reduce the risk of death, injury and electrical shock when correctly adhered to. Keep the manual in a safe place for future reference, along with the completed warranty card, purchase receipt and package. If applicable, pass these instructions on to the next owner of the appliance. Always follow basic safety precautions and accident prevention measures when using an electrical appliance. We assume no liability for customer failing to comply with these requirements.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be observed.

  • Carefully remove your toaster from its packing. You may wish to store the packing for future use.
  • Ensure the mains lead is kept away from hot objects and surfaces.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years old and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. Always allow the toaster to cool completely after use before storing it.
  • Ensure bread fits easily into the slots before using toaster. Torn or thick bread can cause the toaster to jam.
  • Never attempt to remove bread if it becomes jammed in the slots, without first unplugging the toaster from the mains supply. Allow to cool completely before removal.
    • Take care not to damage the internal mechanism when removing bread.
  • Internal parts can be easily damaged. Do not touch the internal parts of the toaster with any tool or instrument.

Special Note: When the toaster is plugged in and operating for the first time, there may be a slight burning odour, as the heating elements warm up. This represents no danger to the user and does not indicate a defect in the appliance. When using for the first time, allow the toaster to heat up until the odour clears.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

BEFORE FIRST USE

It is advisable to first operate the toaster without placing bread in the slot.

  1. Connect the toaster to the mains supply and switch on.
  2. Set the browning control to the lowest setting (1).
  3. Press the loading handle down and allow the heating elements to warm.
  4. Allow elements to heat up until burning odour clears.
  5. Press Cancel button to release loading handle.

HOW TO USE THE TOASTER

  1. Ensure the toaster is connected to mains supply and switched on.
  2. Place one or two slices of bread into the toasting slots and press down the loading handle until it latches.
  3. The toaster will heat up automatically and start toasting.
  4. Adjust the browning control to achieve the amount of toasting desired.
  5. To stop toasting press the Cancel button at any time.
  6. When toasting is finished the loading handle will rise automatically. The toast can then be safely removed.
  7. If the toast is not dark enough, you may wish to toast the bread again.
  8. Adjust the browning control to a lower setting and replace the toast. Ensure the toast does not burn while re-toasting.

REHEAT FUNCTION

Your toaster can re-heat the toast if it has cooled too quickly.

  1. Replace the toast in the toaster.
  2. Set the browning control to a low setting.
  3. Press the loading handle down.
  4. Press the Reheat button, the reheat indicator will light up. Ensure the toast doesn't burn.

DEFROST FUNCTION

Your toaster can defrost frozen bread before toasting if required.

  1. Place the bread into the toaster.
  2. Set the browning control to required setting.
  3. Press the loading handle down.
  4. Press the defrost button, the defrost indicator will light up. Ensure the toast does not burn.

CANCEL FUNCTION

  1. Press the Cancel button if bread starts to smoke.
  2. The Cancel button can be pressed at any time during toasting.

BROWNING CONTROL

The browning control enables adjustment of toasting time, this is adjustable from 1 to 6:

• 1-2 for light toasting
• 3-4 for medium toasting
• 5-6 for dark toasting

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Switch off mains supply and allow toaster to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Only clean the surfaces of the toaster with a soft damp cloth.
  • Do not allow crumbs to build up inside the toaster.
  • Crumbs can be removed by pulling out the crumb tray and clearing any build up with damp cloth.
  • Internal parts can be easily damaged. Do not touch the internal parts of the toaster with any tool or instrument.

In compliance with Directives: 2012/19/EU and 2015/863/EU on the restriction of the use of dangerous substances in electric and electronic equipment as well as their waste disposal. The symbol with the crossed dustbin shown on the package indicates that the product at the end of its service life shall be collected as separate waste. Therefore, any products that have reached the end of their useful life must be given to waste disposal centres specialising in separate collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment, or given back to the retailer at the time of purchasing new similar equipment, on a one for one basis. The adequate separate collection for the subsequent start-up of the equipment sent to be recycled, treated and disposed of in an environmentally compatible way contributes to preventing possible negative effects on the environment and health and optimises the recycling and reuse of components making up the apparatus. Abusive disposal of the product by the user involves application of the administrative sanctions according to the laws.
