Frequently Asked Questions - RE4040 Concept

How to use the delayed start function?

Press the Menu button, select a program using the Menu buttons, then set the desired time with the Hour and Minute buttons. Wait about 5 seconds, the program will start at the scheduled time. This function is not available for Quick cook and Yogurt programs.

How to clean the rice cooker?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Soak the inner pot in hot water, then wash it with a soft cloth and soapy water. Accessories can be washed with hot soapy water. Never immerse the body of the appliance in water.

What to do if error code E5 appears?

Error code E5 indicates overheating. Check that no foreign object is between the inner pot and the heating plate, and that the pot is correctly positioned. If the problem persists, contact an authorized service center.

How to get perfect white rice?

Rinse the rice, place it in the inner pot with a ratio of 1 cup of rice to 1 cup of water. Close the lid, plug in the appliance, press Menu, select White Rice by holding the button for 2 seconds, then wait for automatic start.

Can I cook other grains besides rice?

Yes, the appliance offers programs for quinoa, porridge, and even soup. Follow the recommended proportions in the function table of the manual.

How to use the steam cooking function?

Pour at least 0.5 L of water into the inner pot, place food in the provided steaming basket, close the lid, and select the Steam program. Cooking time is adjustable from 30 to 90 minutes depending on the food.

How to do a low sugar cooking (Low Sugar)?

Pour 5 cups of water into the inner pot, add 1 to 2 cups of rinsed rice in the steaming basket, insert it into the pot, close the lid, and start the Steam program. Monitor cooking as the program does not stop automatically: the time is 19 to 26 minutes.

What is the Keep Warm function for?

The Keep Warm function maintains cooked rice at an ideal temperature until you are ready to serve. It activates automatically after certain programs or can be selected manually with the KeepWarm/Cancel button.

How to prevent rice from sticking to the bottom?

Make sure the inner pot is dry and clean before use, respect the recommended water ratios, and do not leave the rice in keep warm mode for too long. Clean the heating plate regularly for good contact.

What accessories are included with the RE4040?

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE RE4040

1. Place the appliance in a dry, level place.
2. Ensure that the outer surface of the inner container is clean and dry before inserting it into the appliance. This ensures perfect contact between the outer and the inner containers.
3. Make sure that the inner container is properly seated in the appliance, otherwise the appliance will not operate properly and could be damaged.
4. Insert the food into the appliance and close the lid.
5. Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
6. Press the menu button. The display will light up, press the menu button repeatedly to select the program. Use the hour and minute buttons to change the preset time. Then wait approximately 5 s and the program will start.
7. Delayed start procedure: Press the menu button. The display will light up, press the menu button repeatedly to select the program. Use the hour and minute buttons to change the preset time. Then press the button for delayed start, the buttons for selecting the hours and minutes can be used to change the time for delayed start (This option is not available for Quick cook and Yogurt). Then wait approximately 5 s and the program will start.
8. White rice program: Follow the same procedure as in points 1-5. Press the menu button. The display will light up, press the white rice button for approximately 2 s. Use the hour and minute buttons to change the preset time. Then wait approximately 5s and the program will start.

Note: The appliance is equipped with a safety fuse which, in the event of overheating, interrupts the power supply of the heater and, once cooled, switches it on again.

HOW TO DETERMINE THE RIGHT QUANTITY OF RICE AND WATER

1. Rinse the rice and place in an inner container and refill with water.
2. The ratio of rice to water is 1 part of rice to 1 parts of water.
3. Add salt and seasoning before cooking and adjust the flavour according to your wishes.

STEAM COOKING

1. Pour at least 0.5 l of water into the inner container, place a container for cooking in steam or a tray with vegetables or other foods suitable for steam cooking in the inner container.
2. Then proceed as in the instructions manual for the given model.
3. In this case, you need to keep an eye on food and water levels, each food needs a different time to cook. This may cause water to boil and cook the food.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1. Before cleaning always disconnect the appliance from the mains. Never immerse the heating plate in water or any other liquid! Before cleaning the appliance allow it to cool down.
2. Do not use coarse and chemically aggressive substances such as: sharp objects, scrapers, chemical solvents, thinners, etc.
3. Wipe the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth.
4. Fill the inner container with hot water and leave to stand for a while. Then it can be washed with a soft cloth in water with a detergent.
5. For good contact between the heating plate and the bottom of the inner container, this area needs to be kept clean. If there is debris between the inner container and the outer container, remove it immediately.
6. Clean all the accessories of the appliance with a solution of hot water and a detergent.

Pour 5 measuring cups (A) of water into the inner container (2). Then add 1 to 2 scoops (A) of rice to the steaming container (D). Rinse the rice under running water. Insert the steaming container (D) into the inner container (2). Close the rice cooker and then switch on the Steam programme.

Important note: The rice must be watched here, the program does not switch itself off! The cooking time ranges from 19 to 26 minutes, depending on your preference of rice hardness. This is one of the possible cooking methods but not a program or function.
