How to install the ROTHULT lock?

Follow the assembly instructions provided with your IKEA product. Insert the batteries, then test the lock with the master cards.

Which batteries to use?

Use 3 pcs AAA batteries type Ladda 900 mAh Ni-MH (recommended), alkaline or zinc-carbon. Do not mix different types or capacities.

How long do the batteries last?

Approximately 17 months with 3 open/close operations per day. An audible signal sounds when batteries are low.

What to do if batteries are low?

Replace the batteries as soon as possible. If they are depleted, the lock opens automatically and stays open.

Can I use my smartphone as a key?

Yes, if your smartphone supports NFC/RFID technology (most recent Android and iPhone models).

How to add an additional card?

Unlock with your master card, then hold the new card (or smartphone) against the reading area until the audible signal.

What to do if I lose an additional card?

Remove the batteries to reset the lock. This deletes access for all additional cards, but the master card remains usable.

How to reset the lock?

Simply remove the batteries. All additional cards will be canceled, but the master cards will work again after reinserting the batteries.

Is the lock waterproof?

No, it is designed for indoor use only. Operating temperature: 5°C to 45°C.

Can I buy spare cards at IKEA?

No, IKEA does not sell spare cards. You can use standard RFID/NFC cards (library, transport, etc.) or a smartphone.

Keyless lock features

— Keyless lock. 2 Master keycards included.
— Possibility to use an extra card and/or smartphone supporting NFC/RFID.
— Warning signal when the batteries run low.

Instructions for use

— Install the lock and lock-plate according to the assembly instructions for your product.
— Check so that the 2 Master keycards can operate the lock after inserting the batteries.
— We recommend that you put one of the Master keycards in a safe place as an spare key.

Note - there are no spare cards at IKEA.

Using Other Cards

— Extra card (for ex. library card, membership card and public transport card) and smartphone supporting NFC/RFID might be possible to use as a key.

— For using an extra card or smartphone, unlock with your Master keycard and introduce the extra key by holding against reading area.
— Only one extra card can be used at the time.
You can always open the lock with your Master keycard, without removing extra card access.

Good to know

— The Master keycard can lock and unlock the unit at any time.
— The unit will sound if wrong card is used.
— If you loose your extra card you can reset lock by removing batteries.
— If the batteries run low a warning signal will sound from time to time.
If they are not replaced in time the lock will automatically open and stay open. Batteries will last for approx. 17 months when using 3 AAA 900mAh batteries and open/close the lock 3 times per day.

— Operating temperature: 5^ C to 45^ C ( 41^ F to 113^ F).
